Hi ladies, I couldn’t find another thread made, so made this as the other one was full. I will try tag a few people … if you can also tag.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Smiffette · 09/10/2023 08:28

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow.... whilst the pregnancy has been absolutely fine, I am read to be more mobile again so I can play with my DD like I used to. I feel so guilty not being able to play as much with her towards the end of this pregnancy.

She's at preschool for the next 3 days so lots of long walks, bouncing in ball and anything else to try and get this baby moving!

Koalawhala · 09/10/2023 08:47

@Onethingiwantfor23 i was told no nail varnish but I think they really mean the fingers as the monitor they pop on there may not work with gels etc. I’m having my toenail varnish off before though as it will probably be ages until I have it done again and don’t want to watch it slowly growing off!

Hope everyone is doing well. My DH has covid and I’m really hoping to avoid getting it

doeandfawn · 09/10/2023 08:48

Last shift before maternity leave today! Finally feels like the home stretch. Making lists of things we want to do before baby arrives as husband is also off for next 2 weeks.

peonygirl · 09/10/2023 09:53

@Koalawhala oh I do hope you don't get Covid, I had a nasty cold two weeks ago and it was exhausting.

@doeandfawn lucky you! I have a full week of work left and really loads still to finish. Writing "to-do" lists helps, I have nearly finished everything at home so at least that's going to plan.

I have no luck with colostrum harvesting, I am 37w today so will try again in the evening. The whole thing is stressing me out.

cruciverbalista · 09/10/2023 10:14

I'm officially overdue! 40+1 today. About to go see the midwife and hopefully she'll give me a sweep as I am IMPATIENT for this baby now.
@peonygirl , I haven't gotten a drop either. Midwife claims it's normal for lots of people not to be able to get any prior to birthing the placenta (which apparently triggers the correct hormones), so I'm trying not to lose faith in my milk supply.

Desperado123 · 09/10/2023 10:33

38+2 and finding thus bit the most stressful. I'm so convinced that every movement/lack of movement means something is wrong...

Anyway, thoughts with everyone else just waiting things out right now x

Sagittarius25 · 09/10/2023 11:11

@Desperado123 37+3 here and also got that anxiety/intrusive thoughts of 'we're almost at the end but what if it all goes wrong now' and find myself second guessing everything

CL05071998 · 09/10/2023 11:19

Hi All, hope you are keeping well and huge congrats to those who have had their babies already. Have not posted in ages! 38+3 today according to my dates, or 37+4 with hospital which are def off! First baby, lots of braxton hicks over last week or so and think I have lost my mucus plug this morning, was a dark brown colour. Not sure if I'll be waiting days or weeks, still working until Wednesday so hoping he doesn't arrive too quick. No contractions but he is moving away loads and feeling a little lower down! Anyone else been in a similar situation and did labour come on soon for you? X

Esl17 · 09/10/2023 11:20

@cruciverbalista glad I’m not the only overdue one - 40+2 today and no signs at all! Midwife will most likely discuss induction with you today…

VanillaOat · 09/10/2023 11:41

@cruciverbalista @Esl17 another unhappy and uncomfortable member of the overdue club here… feel like everything is on hold 😂 midwife appointment tomorrow!

Esl17 · 09/10/2023 12:13

@cruciverbalista @VanillaOat stay strong ladies! Glad there’s a few of us - I’m booked in for induction on Sunday if he doesn’t come himself this week, but his head wasn’t even engaged at the weekend so I’m not convinced he’s coming without eviction!

cruciverbalista · 09/10/2023 12:26

@Esl17 @VanillaOat Apparently they won't induce until 41+5 here (!) but I did get a sweep done and my cervix is really anterior with a total Bishop score of 7. She's booked in appointments with me for Friday and Monday but said she placed it at 50/50 if I'd stay pregnant that long, which I think I needed to hear. Back to chugging the raspberry leaf tea for now!

thecatsthecats · 09/10/2023 12:57

@peonygirl

Whilst I'm doing well at harvesting, my birth ball is purely decorative, perineal massage is non-existant, and my pelvic floor exercises haven't been done in weeks. Plus loads of other stuff. I'm eating dates, but mainly because I like eating dates!

Point being - I think it's better to just chill out about the things you aren't able to do! We're all just trying to get through it in the last weeks, and at the bare minimum you are making a baby 24/7. Everything else is a bonus!

Saturnsmoon · 09/10/2023 13:11

@cruciverbalista that sounds positive, I’m having a sweep tomorrow at 40+3, hoping for some positive insights as a result. I’m booked in for an induction at 42+2 but would love to go into labour spontaneously before then. Don’t know why I’ve built induction up to be such a ‘thing’ in my mind.

BeaKind · 09/10/2023 13:36

Is/has anyone had bad nausea in the last few weeks? I’m 37 weeks but had loose 💩 (tmi sorry!) for the last week, gone off food and sure it’s not a big. Today I can hardly eat and feel so nauseous I can’t get out of bed 😢

How are all the new mamas doing?

doeandfawn · 09/10/2023 13:38

@BeaKind exactly the same plus very emotional (as someone who doesn’t normally cry it’s been waterworks galore the last few days). Think it’s where he’s bigger and pushing on stomach making us feel more full!

Esl17 · 09/10/2023 14:30

@cruciverbalista it still baffles me how every trust is so different I can be induced any time from 41 weeks so I’ve gone for Sunday as I’ll be 41+1. Sounds positive about your sweeps though. Just feels good to know I’m not the only one overdue xx

NSx · 09/10/2023 15:25

@Esl17 how many times a day are you harvesting? I feel like it’s time consuming (maybe because it’s my first successful time 😂😂 hopefully if I keep doing it daily, it will improve?
@thecatsthecats oh wow 25ML … how much time are you spending doing this, is it all manual? I feel like I’m a cow being milked 😂😅
@FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween I tried after a nap and it is when it worked … I guess I’ll try again later when I get in from work/hot shower.

thanks for the tips ladies, I will persevere! 🥲

Esl17 · 09/10/2023 15:43

@NSx only once a day usually in the evening on my ball watching Married at First Sight! Find if I’m watching something it goes quicker and doesn’t seem so tedious. I think I would give up if I had to do more than that. Make sure you’re nice and warm after a bath or shower and wrapped up in a dressing gown or something and they say not to squeeze too close to the nipple but that’s how I find I get most out. First time it took me almost an hour to get 4 drops but about 6 days later I can fill a syringe in about 20 mins!

thecatsthecats · 09/10/2023 15:43

@NSx I don't like to think about how long it takes! Luckily I have some training videos to catch up on at work in the last few days, so I can get started during the day.

But I am definitely livestock now. Moooooooo.

katherine123x · 09/10/2023 16:36

Ladies who's babies have appeared:

Hope you are all feeling good!!
It is a rollercoaster ride!!!

💗💗💙💙

NSx · 09/10/2023 17:42

@Esl17 @thecatsthecats you give me hope 💗 I will give it another bash tonight, the problem is trying to get rid of my fiancé 😂😂😂😂 before I get to milkin 🐄😂😅🤣🤣

thecatsthecats · 09/10/2023 20:08

The single biggest tip I can give is take your time with it. Swap sides after each drop is squeezed out - it seems to give the supply time to refresh on each side.

Onethingiwantfor23 · 10/10/2023 05:53

Thanks to all of those that replied to me.
I'm in for a C-Section this morning and am feeling sick as a dog with nerves. I hope they don't keep me waiting for too long, I'm not sure my nerves can take it!
Roll on tomorrow when we can hopefully come home 🤞🏻
Will update once baby is here.

doeandfawn · 10/10/2023 06:03
