Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

I'm awake feeding my 18m old and just realised I'm hungry again- despite a pretty good sized dinner last night.

Also seeing several times a night already 🙄

My mind is whirring about all the stuff I'll need to collect again as after no3 i was convinced we were done- so got rid of pregnancy pillow, baby clothes, mussies, next to me crib, baby gym and swing seat etc.

Luckily there's a lot of babies in my friendship circle so I can hopefully beg borrow and buy second hand 😂😂

Tefiti3 · 01/10/2023 09:48

Are you still BFing @RaisingCornishWildlings ? That is amazing!
Appetite definitely increasing here - but so is the awful heartburn and acid reflux each time I eat! Can’t believe it has kicked in so early this time, bleurgh.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 01/10/2023 10:27

Yes I am- I've actually BF continuously since I had my first born in Dec 2016! Fed through pregnancies and tandem fed with babies and toddlers- when I finally do stop it'll be very bitter sweet!
Have come for breakfast with friends and kids- it's carnage- and I have not eaten anywhere near as much as I normally would- looking forward to a chocolate pancake and then took one bite- yuck! 😂😂

Think I finally got my dye stealer at 19 DPO! That emboldened me to book the midwife appointment. No major symptoms yet other than very mild nausea and slightly more tired than usual. My tummy has popped out though, which is very odd. Have had horrid stretchy cramps so maybe it’s just doing what it’s done already. I have heard of very early baby bumps for second pregnancies….

Woohoo! That's a lovely solid line! I've had mild occasional cramping which I keep thinking must be stretching!

Think I'm going to book an early 8 week scan nearer the time!

Hi, tentatively joining. I'm just over 4 weeks but had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in July so very very nervous and feeling quite anxious at the moment.
But I had this line today at 18dpo so hoping I have at least avoided a chemical (had a couple of those before I had my toddler).
Congrats to everyone!

Welcome and congrats on your lovely BFP! ☺️

Sorry to hear of your losses 😔. Keeping everything crossed you have a healthy pregnancy this time around.

I have a 2.5 year old DD, had a CP in May and I'm definitely more anxious this pregnancy than I was with my first. Trying to take each day as a positive but the first 12 weeks are nail biting!

Jak803 · 01/10/2023 15:38

@oop i’m sorry to hear of your MC. A few
of us here are in the same anxious boat! This is a very healthy line, looks good! Hope you’re feeling good. Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy

Sorry to hear of losses - seems like we’re all in similar situations and feel anxious that these little ones are sticky beans!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend - how are you all feeling?

I’ve got the most horrific bloat that’s come on today, so uncomfortable!

Senso21 · 01/10/2023 19:43

3rd baby here, just shy of 5 weeks

is it just me or does anyone feel like their clothes are getting small already?!

panicking about it because everything already feels tight round my belly the past couple of days, I was still carrying a good stone more than I should be for my size that I never lost after my 2nd, but worrying I’m going to be huge! And wondering how on earth I’ll be able to hide this until 12 weeks

cosymama2020 · 01/10/2023 21:28

@Senso21 yes! My comfy trousers weren’t so comfy today 😅 only 5+1 so on the lookout for some nice looser clothes as we speak.

FoleyHuck · 01/10/2023 21:40

1st baby so shouldn't be anywhere near expanding yet but my skinny jeans weren't the most comfy today. Mind you I could just be in denial about the fact they've been a bit snug for a while Blush

We're going away for 2 weeks next weekend so lots of wafting about in loose dresses coming up. We'll see how the jeans feel when I get back (although I'm hoping the total absence of wine will counter-balance a few pounds).

Jak803 · 01/10/2023 22:10

My appetite has soared and my tummy has popped out! Negotiating whether or not it’s the beginnings of a bump or a “food baby”, as they say. 😄 A pinafore dress felt very snug the other day. 🫢

OMG the bloat this time is just … I swear there is no way that I’m going to be able to hide this pregnancy until 12 weeks😫 I’ve had a MMC in the past so I’m very cautious about revealing too early and jinxing it, and at the same time don’t want to spend lots of money on new clothes because my wardrobe has more than enough in it. Hopefully the bloat will settle down a bit when our hormones get a bit more balanced and then the real baby bump will appear😍 Can’t wait to look pregnant again, if you know what I mean, I was very proud of myself and my big bump last time-we women absolutely rock!😎😎

RaisingCornishWildlings · 02/10/2023 09:01

I don't feel too bloated yet but I'm very wobbly anyway! A size 14 with a soft podgy tummy 😂

However does anyone else feel like they're running hot? Keep feeling all sweaty and gross and slightly off balance. All hormone related I guess!

I am however, very very tired today after toddler has caught a bug and we have had some seriously disgusting nappies which absolutely stink to high heaven- up four times in the night for a change... then running late for school with another explosion 5 mins before leaving the house resulting in a full strip, shower and change! So no nursery for her and no exercise class for me- I desperately need it for my MH 😭😭😭

Progression is continuing though- think I'll have a dye stealer in a day or two!

And I sent an online notification to the midwifery team at weekend so expect to hear early this week for my booking appt!

Congrats to everyone who has joined since I last posted!

Ages ago, I booked to get a flu jab. I’ll be 5+5 if I go ahead and get it. DH is very much against me getting it at this stage just in case but I’ve read that it’s safe and recommended. Does anyone else have any opinions?

PurpleIsTheColour · 02/10/2023 10:25

@sinmiedo, I had the flu jab when I was pregnant with my DD and all was good. I don’t usually have the jab but there is research to show that it protects baby after it’s born for the first couple of months so I’m happy to take it in this case. My midwife told me about it at my booking in appointment. Similar with the whooping cough one which is done at 16 weeks and gives protection until the first vaccines are given to the little one.
You can always talk to one of the nurses in your GP practice or look online for a bit more info if your hubby is against it.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 02/10/2023 10:27

@sinmiedo I've always had the flu jab during pregnancy- though I was further along at this time of year with the other 3, as conceptions were April, June and June. I'll book it again this time too, and Whooping cough too when the time comes, like @PurpleIsTheColour

Spottybutterfly · 02/10/2023 10:29

I got my flu jab on Saturday at 4w+2. The doctor read the info leaflet and said it was safe to have but I was still concerned. I hate needles and as I'd built up to having it I got it but if I was fine with needles I'd probably wait a few weeks.

HappyValleyFan1 · 02/10/2023 11:27

The flu jab is given routinely on pregnancy (I thought everywhere but maybe just my trust as I've had it with my pregnancies.

Nice to see so many new members, congratulations to all.

@RaisingCornishWildlings really good progression!
Sorry about the bug, it's the worse with toddlers ☹️ very hot here too and dizzy spells as well as little sleep thanks to the 5 year old 😴

I have my EPU appointment today due to recurrent MC. Anticipating an internal examination but trying not to get hung up on not seeing anything as I think I'm only 5+1

EWH · 02/10/2023 11:33

Hello all, hoping I can join and I’m not jinxing myself. Just tested today at 7dp5dt ivf donor egg pregnancy. Im 40 and have ovarian insufficiency diagnosed years ago. My due date is 12th June 🤞❤️Sending you all good vibes x

RaisingCornishWildlings · 02/10/2023 11:38

@HappyValleyFan1 huge good luck vibes for you. I can only imagine how awful an internal exam is. If they do it, really hope they see the little sac 🤞🤞🤞

@EWH welcome and congratulations! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy- we are the same age and basically same due date (I think I'm 11th June)
