Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

@pinkhart thank you, that’s reassuring! 🙂

My DP is enjoying checking the line for darkness each morning, I think he’s as anxious as me! 😄

Same here - thank goodness for cheapies or I would be bankrupt. 17dpo (ish??) today and feeling more relaxed seeing this - even though deep down I know theres not a correlation between a strong line and healthy pregnancy, but whatever helps!
Def see some progression there @RaisingCornishWildlings how many DPO are you?

@Tefiti3
I have absolutely no idea as my cycle is all over the place- since my periods came back after no 3 was born I've had cycles of 36, 37, 39, 43, 49 and 31 days (last cycle). I think that it was DTD on 14th Sept which was the lucky night!

pinkhart · 29/09/2023 17:54

My very few symptoms I had seem to have disappeared today! My boobs feel almost normal this evening and no nausea all day/bloating! Trying not to worry but I'm a natural worrier 😭😂

RaisingCornishWildlings · 29/09/2023 17:58

@pinkhart everything crossed for you that the symptoms reappear with gusto tomorrow!
It's so so hard not to overthink every twinge x

Thank you! I've prodded and poked myself all day 😂. How are you feeling?

I kind of wish I hadn't found out until I was later on as it's going to be a long next few weeks 🙈.

PurpleIsTheColour · 29/09/2023 19:05

Those of you who have toddlers- how do you deal with the constant tantrums and your DC wanting to be carried all the time? My DD is at the peak of the terrible twos so i’m having to constantly pick her up during the hundreds of tantrums she has a day and she’s a chunky one😃 ever time I pick her up though my cramping appears again so I’m worried I’m going to overdo it😞😞

PurpleIsTheColour · 29/09/2023 19:07

@pinkhart , I had a couple of days this week where I had no symptoms and got really worried but then it all came back. I remember my previous pregnancy these was the odd day of less symptoms and then it all comes back with a vengeance 🤞

RaisingCornishWildlings · 29/09/2023 19:19

@PurpleIsTheColour to be honest with my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I just got on with it. When I conceived No2, firstborn was about 18m (same as no 3 is now), and conceiving no 3, no2 was 2 and a bit.
That said I don't recall feeling any cramping so early on with the other pregnancies. But remember that we aren't delicate flowers- your body is used to heaving a toddler around - it's not like it's a brand new "exercise" that you've just suddenly started doing as you got pregnant.

Sorry if I come across harsh- I don't mean to!
I guess the age old technique of distraction to try and bypass the tantrum? Also, these little humans are canny things, and sense changes (my 18m old 1st born told me I was pregnant with his brother before I knew!!)

Good luck!

That's reassuring! I'm 4+3 based on ovulation (5+1 since lmp). I remember some on/off symptoms with DD but seem to remember it being after 6wks! Hoping I will start to relax soon as I'm driving myself crazy 😂.

RE toddler tantrums, I am with you. I have a 2.5 year old and today especially has not been her day, tiredness and grumpy until bedtime. I also noticed cramping after I picked her up earlier, it's hard to not get stressed when they're having their 'moments'.

Jak803 · 29/09/2023 20:41

@Tefiti3 that’s a good and strong line!

@pinkhart try not to worry about loss of symptoms. I had huge boobs and heightened sense of smell right after implantation which have both gone now. Was worried about it but line continues to darken so I’m not so worried now.

@PurpleIsTheColour i had this with my last pregnancy, my DD was just under three and it was hard. I was constantly being kicked in the tummy! 🫤 Your uterus is well protected by muscles, I’m sure it’s ok!

OP posts:
HappyValleyFan1 · 30/09/2023 06:32

@PurpleIsTheColour I was just about to say the same. Your uterus is very well protected, just take it as easy as you can along with getting on with things which can be an impossible balance

I have an appointment at EPU on Monday and I imagine they'll scan me. A bit of a pointless exercise at 5+1 as they'll likely see nothing but will try not to get anxious about it after and it's a hoop I need to jump through for the meds I need 😬

RaisingCornishWildlings · 30/09/2023 07:27

Morning everyone!

So I POAS again today- can't help myself. It's a different brand this time (the first two were the Freedom strips from Tesco which according to the instruction leaflet are 20mIU of sensitivity. Then todays was Sainsbury's cheapy (apparently 25mIU so slightly less sensitive).
The line today is so so dark!
Not ideal to mix brands and I'm going to stock up on the freedom ones but I'm panicking that it's twins 😂😂

PurpleIsTheColour · 30/09/2023 08:16

Thank you all for the reassurance, it’s so hard not to stress about every little thing😫 I thought I’ll be better prepared as I’ve done it before but nope, the worry is still there.

@RaisingCornishWildlings , your line progression looks good to me-how many dpo are you? I know someone who had twins and had 3+ on a digital very early on and a dye stealer. I’ve attached couple of photos from my POAS-the digital one is from this morning and I’m 15dpo, the other ones are earlier this week.

@PurpleIsTheColour I only wish I knew when I ovulated- I have such an irregular cycle, it's anyone's guess!
This month we DTD on 9/9, 14/9, 19/9, 21/9.

I felt very overwhelmed emotional and just "off balance on Sunday last weekend and put it down to PMS. On the Monday I had mild cramping and mild nausea, so assumed I would be about to come on - then Tuesday mid morning I wiped after a wee and had a tiny bit of spotting, which I thought must be period on its way. As no AF by the Weds morning I POAS, and got the super faint line. Then Friday, a faint but darker line and then today it's VERY obvious!
The whole week I've had very slight nausea, which comes and goes, and mild cramping/hip/groin ache. I think my nose has become more sensitive too 😂 I've never had symptoms so early!
My last period was 20/8 after a 31 day cycle, but the cycle before that was 49 days!!

But if we assume implantation was Monday/Tuesday last week (going off the start of cramps and the spotting), then I can only have been making HcG since then...
Sorry for v long detailed and TMI post 😂😂😂

I've since bought more of the freedom strips from Tesco and POAS again late morning so not FMU- attached- it's quite a jump in strength of line since yesterday morning... I think I can safely assume im pregnant 😂😂

I’m trying soooo hard to stop testing! Ran out of tests but feel the urge to get a couple more just to see those lines 😅

Has anyone spoken to a midwife yet? My booking in appointment is soooo far away (3 weeks).

RaisingCornishWildlings · 30/09/2023 14:28

@cosymama2020
I haven't called the MW office yet, I feel like it's such early days- I thought I'd wait another week before I call.
The booking in appt is normally around 8 weeks isn't it? X

Spottybutterfly · 30/09/2023 15:36

I think I'm due the 6th of June. I'm 4w+2. I have a 14 months old and this is my second pregnancy.

It was hard enough being pregnant last time, no idea how I will cope with a toddler and pregnancy.

I'm 39 so a older mam.

cosymama2020 · 30/09/2023 15:41

@RaisingCornishWildlings definitely early days, I felt like I needed to tell someone and make it ‘official’ haha!

Yeah I’ll be 8+3 when my appointment comes round.

@Spottybutterfly congratulations!

RaisingCornishWildlings · 30/09/2023 15:46

@Spottybutterfly congratulations! I'm 40 on pregnancy no 4 so similar age to you!
I remember being pregnant the first time and thinking to myself "how on earth do people do this when they are running around after a toddler?!)

You will get through it! I've got a 6yr old, 4.5 Yr old and an 18m old and I've been soooo grouchy with them today 🙈🙈

FoleyHuck · 30/09/2023 16:28

Hi Ladies, can I join? 4+6 today with our first so all being well due 2nd June or thereabouts. Quite anxious as I've had an early mc in the (distant) past and I'm 40 next week but trying to be positive. I never thought I'd be in this situation, I have another thread about it Grin

No symptoms really aside from sore boobs (they did not enjoy Parkrun this morning) and I keep welling up at random things, where I've usually got a heart made of stone Blush

Otherwise I'm feeling uncharacteristically motivated to keep myself fit and eat well while I can, knowing I could be too tired / sick at any time.

Stephy1024 · 30/09/2023 18:16

I rang my doctors yesterday and have an appointment with the midwife on the 12th October. I'll only be 6.5 weeks so a little early.

RaisingCornishWildlings · 30/09/2023 19:06

@FoleyHuck welcome and congratulations!

I have been so grouchy and snappy and snarky with my kids tonight- feeling super guilty!

Typically hubby has just left for a week's work trip- so I get the joy of all 3 little bugger with no respite 😂😂 it's gonna be a long old week- but then I get a long weekend off for a friends 40th- grown up time hurrah! But god knows how I'm gonna keep the pregnancy quiet 🙄

pinkhart · 30/09/2023 21:48

Congrats to new bfp's ☺️.

Another day down, sore bbs have returned tonight! Is anyone else's stomach making noise? Mine keeps growling at me and I'm definitely more hungry! 😂

@RaisingCornishWildlings that was me the other day, I had such guilt after as I just had no patience with my LO! It's these pesky hormones eh? 🙈

FoleyHuck · 30/09/2023 22:03

Yep I'm more hungry too @pinkhart, and feeling hungry again sooner after eating than usual. Tonight I had a giant pasta bake at 7 and my stomach has just started rumbling again.

I'm making a big effort to eat good stuff though.
