Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

The tiredness is hard-going sometimes here too!

I’m also feeling super emotional. I’ve always been a crier, but actually sobbing at the Bake Off last week was a new low last week (when Josh said his nan would’ve come to watch him in the final). I also cried yesterday because I was tired and hungry after being out volunteering, and I didn’t know whether to eat or shower first 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hoping things will even out in the second trimester!

Wheeeeee · 27/11/2023 16:18

I hit 10 weeks and felt marvellously better for a couple of days...and then all the sickness and fatigue returned yesterday and is currently kicking my arse.

Wheeeeee · 27/11/2023 16:20

I'm supposed to be going on a work trip for 3 nights later this week and want to curl up in a ball and cry just thinking about it.

Catson · 27/11/2023 18:02

Oh @Wheeeeee you have my sympathies, that sounds like my idea of hell right now

Catson · 27/11/2023 18:02

I have my scan the week before Christmas so that will make Christmas alot easier to navigate

VJFord · 27/11/2023 19:56

@Wheeeeee I think that would make me cry, too!

Moany brain dump incoming!!

Feeling so rotten. Like I have a lump in my throat which is making me gag and May or may not be thrown up. Still haven’t been sick at all but almost want to just to get it out and ease this nausea. So tired and work is demanding so much brain power I can feel myself slipping behind (they don’t know yet).
feeling starving and eating is the only this helping the nausea but also making me feel sicker.
dizzy and constipated and unmotivated.

had celebrated that symptoms would ease up soon thinking I’m nearing the end of the first trimester but had an early scan and I’m actually measuring earlier than thought. LOL.

just feeling so glum. Why doesn’t mat leave cover pregnancy as well 😩

I feel exactly this.
I am soooo tired of feeling tired and sick all the time. I am 12 weeks this week and was hoping that it might be easing up by now but no luck yet.
I've been feeling like this since 4 weeks so I am over it. I just want to cry 😢
Got my scan on Friday so hopefully that will give me a boost but really hoping to feel a little better soon.
It's so tough!
We've got this mummas x

Hi everyone. Finally posting after lurking a bit for the last few weeks. I was going to wait until my 12 week scan but changed my mind because I’m feeling a bit down this eve! I’ve had two early scans already at 6 & 8 weeks as I’ve had multiple early losses in the past. Taking quite a few meds and on a strict diet for autoimmune condition so lots to keep me very anxious 😅 I’ve had terrible nausea and fatigue in the last 2 weeks though which puts my mind at ease, a little bit.

Had another scan today and what was meant to be an NIPT blood test but baby was measuring 9+3 instead of 10 weeks so have to go back next Thursday. At my last scan it was 4 days behind and now a whole week so I feel like the 12 week point is getting further and further away. I know it’s normal but feel a bit worried it’s falling more behind.

hope everyone is doing ok!

Goldie1234 · 28/11/2023 20:29

Joining the many club too ! On the one hand I'm feeling so thankful for the nausea, it's a good sign right ! But on the other hand, I feel terrible for my little boy who has watched TV the entire day because I couldn't do anything 😬

Welcome @Junipersand sorry to hear you're feeling worried.. great you're feeling sick haha and getting your scans, that would make me anxious too though, did they say it was fairly normal for your dates to change like that ? Hope it was at least nice to see little babe again today !

Junipersand · 28/11/2023 20:46

Thank you @Goldie1234! It is a bit anxiety inducing haha. They didn’t seem too worried so I suppose that should put my mind at rest…..but of course I’m just worrying instead 😅 Baby was visibly bigger than two weeks ago, and we heard the heartbeat and saw it wriggling around for the first time so that was lovely too.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so nauseous too. I’m sure your son doesn’t mind watching telly all day! Haha. I’d say rest when you can 😌

Goldie1234 · 29/11/2023 09:24

Haha he absolutely didn't mind 😅

I have my scan booked for 12 + 5, does anyone know what the cut off for the screening is ? I'm sure I read somewhere it was around then..

Catson · 29/11/2023 11:43

@Goldie1234 it's 14 weeks cut off for the downs etc screening. With my first I had to go back as he wouldn't keep still to get the measurements so it ended up being after the 14 week cut off so I just had a blood test for downs only

DevonMum2Be · 29/11/2023 11:46

@Goldie1234 and @Catson is that what the blood tests at the 12-week scan will be for? I was told I’d have more bloods taken then but not that they were screening tests. TIA 🙏🏼

EDIT: @Goldie1234 mine is also booked for 12+5 😊

Catson · 29/11/2023 11:49

@DevonMum2Be You opt in to the screening tests. I think they take blood and they do a measurement of the fluid at the back of the baby's neck. I'm not sure they take bloods for anything else. If you don't want the screening just tell them at your scan. Mine is also 12+5

DevonMum2Be · 29/11/2023 12:05

Thank you @Catson 🙏🏼

1st time posting in case something went wrong.
I am also 10 weeks and just had this happen! Less nausea and fatigue eased off (although had acid reflux in the evening instead) then it all came back worse than before so I had to go home sick Tuesday which was a really important day at work. 🫣 My partner has a stomach bug currently that I am praying I don't get as I just got over a bad cold and am still coughing 3 weeks later.
Pregnancy is honestly exhausting 😩 keep having to look at scan photo to balance my foul moods with some gratitude 🙈

Sd183 · 29/11/2023 14:03

10+3 today and literally no symptoms at all anymore. Barely even sore boobs. I’m so worried. I had a 6 week scan and saw a heartbeat but it’s a long wait for 12 weeks (scan is two weeks time). I know it is a sensitive question, but anyone who had a missed MC in the past - did you have any spotting or bleeding before you realised what had happened? I’m so genuinely terrified of getting to the scan and we’ve lost the baby.

Catson · 29/11/2023 14:16

@Sd183 the chances are you will be fine. The placenta takes over around this point and that often sees symptoms come and go, reduce, or disappear totally.

I doubt anyone who has had a MMC will have had any spotting etc as the fact it is missed means there is nothing to make you suspect there's anything wrong.

VJFord · 29/11/2023 14:53

Hi @Sd183 as @Catson has already said, it is very normal for symptoms to come and go, especially as you near the end of the first trimester. I had a panic the other day when my nausea went away, only for it to return a few days later feeling even worse.

I have had 2 MMCs, and both times I did experience some spotting. However I know it is also possible to experience bleeding that is not a cause for concern, and to miscarry without any signs. It's different every time. I'd take it as a good sign that you've got nothing to indicate anything is going awry.

Are you in a position where you can request an additional reassurance scan? Because of a very complicated history and losses at different gestations I have a bereavement midwife who cared for me when my daughter died. Thankfully she now coordinates my care in subsequent pregnancies. I've really been struggling with the wait between scans at 7 and 12 weeks, and she persuaded the early pregnancy unit to see me again next week, when I will be 10 weeks. It's not standard, so I think I just got lucky that they were willing to fit me in!

Anotheranxiousone · 29/11/2023 15:59

My symptoms also lessened massively from about 9.5/10 weeks onwards. Although randomly I’ve started retching in a morning in the last week or so without feeling nauseous it’s very odd. So symptoms do come and go. My only main consistent one is shit skin 😩😩😩

Ad12345678 · 29/11/2023 16:04

@Anotheranxiousone I’m the same! My face is all pimples 😂

DemelzaRobins · 29/11/2023 16:53

My skin is awful as well. That pregnancy glow is so far proving a lie, unless it just means a shiny nose.

Anotheranxiousone · 29/11/2023 17:02

I’m getting big under the skin spots, one at a time. Just as one clears another pops up, all on my chin 😩
