Hi! Just had a BFP after a MC at 8 weeks last year, and am looking for folks to breathe through the next few weeks with. I am in an age bracket where MC risk is high and I’m trying not to get ahead of myself!

So after complaining about how nauseous I felt earlier in the week, I woke up today and felt completely normal! Hooray! Although now I’m worried that there is something wrong with the baby! Sod’s Law, my body can’t win. I had a private scan at 7w 3d and I'm now 8+6 so I know it’s probably fine but I can’t help but worry. Is anyone else constantly stressing about every little symptom (or no symptoms!)

Littlelionroar1982 · 24/11/2023 13:59

@Ad12345678 my GP reluctantly prescribed omeprazole today, he had to check with a colleague first then called me back and I’m now been admitted to hospital for dehydration…! Can’t wait to start them though when I get out I’m hoping it’s my magic fix that’ll allow me to eat and drink so I need fluids. I can’t be bothered to go I feel rubbish but also annoyed cause I was twice as bad in my first pregnancy but Covid meant I was never seen so I definitely should have been admitted. Hoping to feel brand new tonight.

Wheeeeee · 24/11/2023 15:27

I'm 9 weeks today and also woke up feeling, not perfect, but much better. A couple of days ago my midwife advised me to stop taking pregnacare vitamins and gave me some generic vitamins instead that just have folic acid, vitamin D and vitamin C, as apparently the pregnacare ones can really exacerbate nausea. It might just be a coincidence but I'll take it!

@Littlelionroar1982 I hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

Forest1234 · 24/11/2023 17:29

Having joined the group later just been reading back on some of the posts whilst waiting for dinner to cook. So glad I’m not the only one accepting and embracing the need to eat every few hours! 🥴 Moving on from the beige stage now but now I don’t know what I want, just that I need to eat before the nausea and dizziness kicks in. Not actually been sick though so can’t complain too much, just don’t fit in any of my jeans anymore 🫠

There's a WhatsApp group as well, can pm me your number if you'd like to be added Xx

Ad12345678 · 24/11/2023 19:25

@Littlelionroar1982 I’m so happy you’re looked after now! Definitely post an update tomorrow 🙏

MizzMarple · 24/11/2023 19:25

Can someone send me the fb group link as well? Thanks

Littlelionroar1982 · 25/11/2023 07:59

@Ad12345678 and everyone! I’m okay thanks I was discharged last night so didn’t have to stay over and I have a number to call again if I’m dehydrated from vomiting again. You can buy these sticks to test urine at home - I had 3 ketones in it so they see it as dangerous, I had cyclizine and fluids on an IV and felt pretty good when I got home. I’m now on cyclizine, prochlorperazine and omeprazole (well I’m picking that up today!) the joys of hypermesis! No more babies after this I can’t do it 😂 what does annoy me most though is I was worse in my first pregnancy but Covid meant I didn’t see anyone until 20 weeks despite ringing weekly!! Ooh and my scan is being brought forward as I would be 12 and 6 they want to check a few things with being so sick. Wonder what it’s like to have a normal pregnancy!?

Mountainview8 · 25/11/2023 08:48

I've been lurking here since I found out I was pregnant late Sept, I was wary of getting too involved after having 2 miscarriages and it still wasn't feeling real as I've not had many symptoms. But I was relieved and excited to see a wriggly baby on my 12 week scan yesterday, it's feeling a lot more real now and I'm due 3rd June 🥰🌈🌈

Sorry to hear some of you are suffering with symptoms and I hope they calm down soon x

Due June 24?
VJFord · 25/11/2023 09:42

Congratulations @Mountainview8! This is such a nice update to read ☺️

Suchardchoccy · 25/11/2023 11:40

We found out yesterday from the geneticist it's going to be a girl!! 😍 So relieved!! We will have 3 girls!!

Catson · 25/11/2023 15:27

@Mountainview8 congratulations that's a great scan pic
@Littlelionroar1982 I don't think there's such thing as a normal pregnancy is there?! Hope your symptoms improve soon though

Babyhopeful23 · 25/11/2023 19:17

I live in ireland and we have another drug that is used to treat hyperemesis in pregnancy, can only be prescribed by an OB not a GP. A friend of mine was vomiting multiple times a day and was hospitalised so often. She got this medication and it changed her completely. She also had to take it in her next pregnancy. I have a staff member that was also prescribed it for the same reasons. Is Cariban not available outside in the UK? https://www.hpra.ie/img/uploaded/swedocuments/Licence_PA1776-002-001_31082023111936.pdf

MizzMarple · 25/11/2023 20:07

It’s Xonvea here and can be prescribed by a GP. I didn’t find it helped and the best combination was Promethazine and Proclerperazine, although even that wasn’t great. (I’ve had 3 pregnancies with hyperemesis but weirdly haven’t got it at all this pregnancy). I think you just have to try a few and see what’s best. The most effective one is meant to be Ondansetron but it’s rare they’ll prescribe it I think because there are risks to the baby.

Hyperemesis is so so miserable so all my sympathies to those suffering.

Hello, like @Mountainview8 I am de-lurking after having had my 12 week scan yesterday! Letting myself feel cautiously excited now. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on clothing - I have a little bump emerging which I would like to hide from work for another couple of weeks but my clothes are getting tight! Bought some Next (non-maternity) jeggings for home today which are nice and comfy. I found an old thread from 2012 which recommended some stretchy M&S trousers for work before it's time for maternity clothes - wondering if these would work. https://www.marksandspencer.com/straight-leg-trousers-with-stretch/p/clp60506872?color=BLACK&prevPage=srp#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r1c2 I tried some maternity trousers but they are literally falling off me... I'd love any ideas!

Catson · 26/11/2023 09:07

@NorthernDaisy it's a really horrible stage of in between for which I have no advice, but something like that might work, or something in a size bigger.

Last time I was pregnant was covid so it didn't matter. This time I've already got quite a bump and I'm only 9 weeks..but already fitting in maternity jeans 🫠

GeeinItLaldyX · 26/11/2023 13:20

Could someone send me a link to the Facebook too 😊?

NorthernDaisy · 26/11/2023 16:52

Hi @GeeinItLaldyX it's just two messages above😊

Silverchalk46 · 26/11/2023 18:59

I'm June 24 in Chorley area. Should do local groups.

cdn298 · 26/11/2023 19:00

I'm not far from Chorley! I'm in Baxenden, near Accrington x

FantasticMissFox · 27/11/2023 06:52

Hi all

I have been lurking for a while but had 12 week scan today and little babe dancing around and all looking OK so far. Just waiting for genetics I'm not in the UK so finding I should apparently just know everything I supposed to be ping but no one is telling me?!

Mountainview8 · 27/11/2023 08:00

@Tefiti3 when I click that link it just takes me to Facebook, not a group

VJFord · 27/11/2023 12:22

Hi everyone, hope you all have good weeks ahead. 9+1 today and the fatigue has really set in over the weekend. I woke up feeling like I immediately needed to go back to bed, and snapped at my partner when he said he was tired too. I need to remember I don't have a monopoly on tiredness!

CamdenQueen · 27/11/2023 15:29

@VJFord i could have written this myself! 9+3 here and the exhaustion has hit so hard the last week. I had very few symptoms up until week 8 and now the queasy hungover feeling is constant.

I think it’s definitely ok to have the monopoly on tiredness in the 1st trimester! it’s next level
