@PeeBeee that’s so cute! 😍 it’s so nice having another pregnant friend my friend is due 10 days after me! Couldn’t believe it

PeeBeee · 26/10/2023 10:04

@Shrillwaffle its so amazing🥹 around the time I started ttc feb baby she told me they were having difficulty with falling so when I fell first cycle, the guilt ate away at me. I have irregular periods and hers are like clockwork! It really goes to show you there is no rhyme or reason to ttc, its pure luck! Im still sobbing! Haha aww 10 days thats amazing! My dh’s friend is due 3 weeks before us, all the babies coming in 2024🥰

LavenderSweetPea · 26/10/2023 11:44

Aww @PeeBeee so pleased for your friend (and you!) It's so nice if your friends have babies at the same time. Sadly literally all of my friends had babies this year and will be back at work when February comes around, not such good timing for me but better late than never!

Also, saw the midwife this morning and apparently I DO have a big bump 😂it's just below 90th percentile but I've got a growth scan booked in a few weeks anyway. I'm surprised though only because at 20w scan baby was only on 20th percentile for basically all the measurements so why is bump big of baby is small?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/10/2023 11:57

Yes to the acid reflux, it hit me lastnight in bed, my throat was burning and I ended up being sick 😵‍💫

I have a private scan on the weekend and I can't wait to see little man again 🙂 I know I will in about 4 weeks if I ever get my 28 week scan appointment through but can never see them enough can we 🥰

It's mostly so I can have his heartbeat put in a teddy bear tbh 🩵

PeeBeee · 26/10/2023 12:16

Is anyone doing 4d scans? If you don’t have an anterior placenta (as I know these should be done earlier), what gestation are you booking for? I had already went to my 4d scan with my dd at this stage as she was anterior but don’t have an anterior this time!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/10/2023 12:36

@PeeBeee I'm getting some 4D images at my private one at the weekend. They did say he may be a tad too skinny for them to be like they would be later on but he could surprise us and be chunky enough 😄
It was only the option I had really cos the other option was private growth scan which I can't have when under nhs ones.
I don't want a 4D video though x

PeeBeee · 26/10/2023 12:43

@CheeseAndCrackersx how many weeks will you be? I am getting a re scan of 20w scan tomorrow at 22+3 then my next nhs scan isnt until 28 weeks on 4th dec so I am thinking maybe booking it for mid nov

CheeseAndCrackersx · 26/10/2023 12:54

@PeeBeee I'll be 24+5 🙂 x

Clueless13 · 26/10/2023 14:06

Hi everyone, so I have a bunch of Qs! I’m having regular growth scans, every 4 weeks due to a fibroid which was found at 12w. I had a scan on Monday (23w) and they found baby’s femur and AC were just below 10th percentile, I’m going back in 3 weeks but can’t help worrying! Anyone else have experience of this?

Baby’s movements have been pretty strong over the last couple weeks, but have slowed down today so again can’t help but worry 😣

Tilly18101 · 26/10/2023 21:58

@Clueless13 One of my twins is measuring on 3rd percentile, basically my consultant said if they continue to track on that rate they generally aren’t concerned some babies are just smaller, it’s if they move around esp down from that they look at extra checks/precautions.

Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!) I think it’s a positive they are leaving it 4 weeks before another scan and will assess then. A lot can happen in a few weeks and hopefully baby will have a little growth spurt for you x

CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/10/2023 06:15

Unsure if this has been discussed already but insomnia has me up and thinking about all sorts;
Those who have bought clothes. When are you going to wash them?

I've bought loads of stuff off Vinted. I think tbh once they arrive and a couple of other things new I've bought do too I think 0-3 wise I'll be finished so I don't know whether to start washing them now?!

I've bought a heated airer to dry his stuff on so I'm just thinking if I start washing now it'll spread it out a bit

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2023 08:00

@Clueless13 yes, I had this in my pregnancy with my son, and another one saying try not to worry. I had to go back for constant rescans every two weeks, fetal medicine unit referral etc to try to rule out skeletal dysplasia, and everything was fine when he was born. He was a long baby, not sure why his bones measured short, and he's a 20 month old whose about 70th centile for height.

It ruined the last 2 months of my pregnancy with stress, and apparently it's very difficult to measure the long bones accurately later in pregnancy anyway. And a couple of mm makes a huge difference

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2023 08:04

@CheeseAndCrackersx I'm expecting to be induced again in mid Jan, and planning to wash everything in newborn and 0-3, plus the reusable nappies at the start of Jan, mainly so it's all really fresh and not musty in drawers!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2023 08:05

@Mangotango39 I wondered how you're getting on? X

Mangotango39 · 27/10/2023 08:30

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thanks for asking , I haven't been on the thread much as I have been so busy with work!

I am going great. Not sure if I updated but we seen a specialist who was not concerned about baby apart from one small kidney issues which isn't uncommon (apparently) the ' soft markers' were apparently incorrect! No reason showing to think anything is wrong with baby in terms of a disability as we first worried. We were so relieved!!

how are you?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2023 08:47

@Mangotango39 oh I'm so pleased for you, that's amazing!

All good here thanks. Just tired and doing the final push on this stage of our renovation to move in shortly. The builders are due to start the extension a couple of weeks after the baby is due 😬

Clueless13 · 27/10/2023 09:08

Thanks @Tilly18101 and @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7

I’m due back in 3 weeks to remeasure and if still small then they’ll scan every week and may want to induce me at 36 weeks, which I don’t really want!

Trying my best not too worry, but it’s so difficult

I'm due 2nd Feb and planning to wash everything first/second week of Jan! Would prefer it as fresh as possible rather than sitting in the drawers for a few months x

novamama · 27/10/2023 10:15

I haven't thought at all about the timing of washing, thanks for bringing that one up!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 you mentioned reusable nappies, any recommendations? I want to try but even the trial packs are so expensive I find it daunting...

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2023 10:32

@novamama I preferred the all in twos from this brand, and they often have a £5 sale babybarenappies.co.uk/collections/our-sale-items

You basically put it on just like a disposable, and they aren't too chunky under clothes. And you can pop out the insert for quicker drying. The wet bags are brilliant too, I just used to hang them behind a door, put in the nappies and wipes, and then empty the nappies and the bag into the wash every 2/3 days.

You can get some advice from nappy guru, nappy lady etc, but I ended up donating those nappies I tried as didn't get on with them (too chunky). And I hated the muslins for newborns with the separate wrap on top - such a faff. The all in twos were easy.

I'd say just buy a handful and see how you get on. Don't commit to a whole system yet til you know what you'll prefer

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/10/2023 10:36

@Clueless13 I really hope an earlier induction won't happen to you, but I just wanted to give a positive story. I was so nervous to have one and it was a good birth! I had the dreaded drip and manual breaking of waters, but it was okay. I didn't have interventions like forceps or anything, and I didn't tear. I was out walking my dog the next day.

Mangotango39 · 27/10/2023 10:45

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it was just a huge weight off our shoulders . Baby is kicking like crazy now too!

so exciting though a new home! You can get into nesting mode straight away!!

it's hitting me early and I have my eye on a tin of paint this weekend haha!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 27/10/2023 11:28

Hi ladies 👋 never experienced this before in my other pregnancies but OMG over these last 3 days I've had lots of vaginal discharge (sorry for TMI) anyone else currently going through this? I've been fine in knicker department up until recently 🤣 it's that much seriously thinking about popping a pad on for down their! Literally feels like I'm wetting myself 😂

Sunshineclouds11 · 27/10/2023 11:30

Yep!! Last couple of weeks my discharge has been horrendous!!
Literal wet patches.

msp2023 · 27/10/2023 12:58

I did post about this but nobody got back to me so thought I'd try here!

I'm 26 weeks and experiencing quite intense pressure/pain in my vagina - not internal, more external so I'm assuming this is PGP?
It's worse at night, when trying to roll over or get out of bed / when I'm walking around.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Worried it's going to be present for the next few months and it's really quite frustrating and uncomfortable!
