@Nemo145 you can do it 🙏🏻 leading up you may feel worse but after you’ll feel a bit more secure I think. #strongaf let’s get this trending 🙌🏻 😅

Hey ladies anyone struggling with acid reflux gavisgon and rennies don’t touch it. This acid feeling lasts untill I’m violently sick 😞🤢 x

PeeBeee · 24/10/2023 07:15

@Mummapenguin20 yes i am suffering with it, not as bad as in my first pregnancy mind you. This time gaviscon aniseed🤢is helping but it didn’t touch the sides last time - only thing that did was asdas own version of gaviscon so might be worth a try! X

Mummapenguin20 · 24/10/2023 08:04

Ilm give that ahi thank you this is a new kind of evil 🙈 x

@Mummapenguin20 I'm starting to suffer with acid reflux too. Starting to think our little girl must be sprouting hair on her head 🤣 but for me, double action gaviscon does seem help settle it, although sometimes I do end up being sick though still 😫 eurgh the thought of acid just makes me want to throw up!

Mummapenguin20 · 24/10/2023 10:04

I brought some guardian (gavisgon) but the leaflet says don’t take without midwife’s permission can’t get hold of her tho lol xxxx

@Mummapenguin20 I've been on omeprazole on prescription since before conception, I had horrible reflux and vomiting in my first pregnancy and it left me with permanent issues. It's defo helped with vomiting, as I stopped by end of first trimester this time, unlike the week of birth last time. So I would recommend stuff like different brands of gaviscon (also try gaviscon advance, it's more expensive for a reason!) and I find morrisons own is pretty good. Then if no luck I would speak to GP as I wish I had got omeprazole earlier in my first pregnancy and maybe wouldn't have still needed to be on it for years after 😥also I have a big glug of gaviscon before bed regardless of if I feel acidy or not and that seems to keep it at bay as lying down usually aggravates it

If you want to have a read if concerned about risks, etc.

Has anyone been sore after their 20 week scan?

Sonographer had to really plod, make me do jumps, bounce ny belly about and eventually sent me for a walk and caffeine, just to get baby to turn.

I am seriously feeling the effects of the belly movements tonight, quite sore around base of stomach that it hurts to try and sleep on side.

One stubborn baby girl ahead I think 🙈

mummylove24 · 25/10/2023 05:46

redxlondon · 23/10/2023 12:14

I just can’t face buying anything until I know the baby will arrive safely. I don’t know how to mentally get past this - what helped you all start buying items?

@redxlondon I know what you mean. I’ve had too many losses, I made it clear to my mum, no baby showers, I haven’t told friends yet even, just immediate family. I might do a baby welcoming party when we’re both up to it. Shopping, I haven’t but I really need to start by next month 🥹💕💓

Hankthehonk · 25/10/2023 08:08

@redxlondon I've started accepting hand me down boys clothes from friends, and looking out stuff of my daughter's that we can use. But I saw a sleepsuit I wanted in a shop the other day, a bit pricy, and I couldn't bring myself to buy it. It felt like tempting fate. I think I'm still anxious after previous loss, even though I'm 22 weeks and baby has been fine at all the scans so far.
Maybe I'll go back for the sleepsuit in a few weeks...

Musicalitymum · 25/10/2023 12:42

A rash has come on my forearms, hands and ankles. Has anyone else got that? I had itchy hands when I was 15, teenage hormones then so maybe it’s a pregnancy hormonal thing now. I’m 24 weeks and it’s not too itchy. I Googled it and Pupps came up as a common pregnancy rash.

AllAboardTootToot · 25/10/2023 13:33

Yeah I’ve got that, midwife said it was pupps.

Piriton can be taken if it’s bad, calmed mine after a few days. I use bum bum moisturiser after showering and that really helps

DmcinT · 25/10/2023 17:34

I was asking at the weekend was anyone napping in the day again all of a sudden, I assumed baby girl was taking a growth spurt and funny today I was in for my weekly scan and she’s now a week ahead measuring 25 weeks. I knew something had to be up for me to be dropping off like that in the middle of the day with no warning 😂

Shrillwaffle · 25/10/2023 20:33

@Musicalitymum so weird a rash has also shown up on my forearm I’m 26 weeks sunday, must be a pregnancy thing!

Shrillwaffle · 25/10/2023 20:35

Has anyone had anyone telling them how big they are now? It’s really bothering me like that’s ever okay to say with someone. All I care about is my baby so my weight has been at the back of my mind because I’m pregnant at the end of the day. But I have issues mentally and I bought some maternity trousers and they were a bit tight and it’s just made me feel like an absolute whale I just think maybe I’ve been really unhealthy idk

xTinkerbell · 25/10/2023 20:41

@LavenderSweetPea see I’m not sure at all why mine say it. I’ve had two previous pregnancies both have gone to term and as far as I know no complications that would lead to them saying any risk of preterm labour so very confused

xTinkerbell · 25/10/2023 20:43

@redxlondon basically my notes say interim risk of preterm labour and I haven’t the faintest why. I was scouring the app for an explanation. I’ll ask at my next appointment

LavenderSweetPea · 25/10/2023 20:55

@Shrillwaffle I haven't had anyone say it outloud as such, but I've had a lot of people I don't really know ask how far along I am and when I say not quite 6 months you can see them falter and think 'wow shes massive I thought she was going to say like 8.5' and then they laugh it off and say 'oh not for ages yet'. I don't think I am unusually big though. Got my 25 week midwife appt tomorrow though , and I think it's the first one where they measure the bump and check you are tracking about right so that'll be interesting to see what a professional thinks.

Shrillwaffle · 25/10/2023 20:58

@LavenderSweetPea idk how I feel even when I’ve been dead thin I thought I was fat so I never think I truly know what I look like :/ it didn’t bother me till my mum said wow you’ve grown since I last saw you and now it’s playing on my mind and I’ve gone from thinking I’m okay to thinking I look like a walking planet 😩 so much anxiety anyway without this making me feel shit too

Mummapenguin20 · 25/10/2023 21:01

@Shrillwaffle i worry about my weight loads day to day normally. Please don’t in pregnancy a bump growing means a growing baby ❤️

Hello ladies!

sorry for the complete radio silence, hard to keep up these days.

managed to read back through recent posts, @Shrillwaffle so happy to read you are past your previous loss date and feeling a little bit more positive.

im 25+2 now with the twins, and boy have I been struggling. I echo so many of you with a super sore bump, kicks in the cervix, naps, and my SPD has been awful.

im having private physio, massages, reflexology and going to exercises but I can barely walk, sitting is uncomfortable and I’m just a bit fed up. Keeps me from posting as I’m such a negative Nelly right now.

I’ve taken a couple of days off work to rest as I’m only comfortable led down propping my bump up with pillows so I can’t work that way, just feeling miserable as I can’t do anything I’d usually do.

the twins are otherwise doing ok, we have a bit of growth difference between them so the smaller twin is being kept a close eye on. Still having fortnightly scans and my consultant is brilliant so I feel very reassured.

Ive started ordering things for our hospital bags, nappies/wipes, pads, etc as my consultant said to have everything packed by 30 weeks just in case!

Hope you are all well and enjoying all the shopping for you first time mums, it’s so exciting!

redxlondon · 25/10/2023 21:39

I’m so glad (well not glad, as it’s horrible!!) to read some of you feeling how I’ve been about size. I felt beautiful, but have felt really low today after a barrage of comments the last week. I’m 24 weeks tomorrow, a lady at worked asked if I was about to pop, and said I looked 7 months pregnant. Lots of comments how big the bump is already. Then to top it off today, I worked from home so didn’t put makeup on and a few people said I looked really ill. One kept asking about why my nose was so red so I lost it and just bluntly pointed out to him I didn’t have make up on and it’s a skin condition I have. I didn’t think it was so noticeable on camera :-(

Ihatewinding · 25/10/2023 21:51

@Tilly18101 I'm with you on the SPD and PGP, it's really awful and assume is just gonna get worse which makes me feel really down. Had a cry at the GPs on Monday and got some codeine and a fit note for reduced hours for work as couldn't cope due to sleep deprivation, even being part time. I was getting no more than 40-60 minutes of sleep in a row before having to reposition from pain in the night, and then repeat and worsen until would be every 10-15 mins - that was for about a week and felt close to cracking up 😴
Can get 2 x 2 hour stretches of sleep with the codeine with a reposition in between, and then need to top up after the 4 hours then can get another 2 hours, then just broken after that, but way better than before! I didn't want to go on the codeine but I was crying everyday at the thought of going (or trying) to sleep 😔

My aunt greeted me with "hey fatty" yesterday, who says that to a pregnant lady?!? Have noticed also getting more comments on my bump and people asking when I'm due and they are surprised when I say February... I'm going to be begging for an induction at 37 weeks with the way the PGP is going so maybe I'll start saying January 🙈

Shrillwaffle · 25/10/2023 23:40

@redxlondon I feel you 💯 like why do people feel the need to pick out ‘flaws’ in your appearance when you’re obviously pregnant it makes us paranoid and depressed about ourselves.

PeeBeee · 26/10/2023 07:24

Aww guys! My best friend told me this morning that she is pregnant 😭 she had been trying since before she got married last October so when I told her back in July I was pregnant, it felt awful but she was obviously so happy for me. Now are babies are going to be 3 months apart just😭 I can’t stop ugly crying😅♥️
