@CheeseAndCrackersx i’d say its just fun pregnancy side effects but do let us know how you get on, I am sure all is good♥️

msp2023 · 22/10/2023 21:54

Hi guys! Sorry for such a random question but I was just thinking about pram suits today.
Is anybody going to purchase one in advance for our February babies - assuming the weather will be still be quite chilly until April or so!
Not sure if it's a necessity at this stage or whether to wait!

AllAboardTootToot · 22/10/2023 22:10

I’ve bought 2 @msp2023 🙈

one new born and one 0-3 in case she’s chunky 🙈😂

CheeseAndCrackersx · 22/10/2023 22:28

@msp2023 I've bought little man a few just incase 🙂 especially cos we can randomly get snow at that time of year

Kelb79 · 22/10/2023 22:56

@Shrillwaffle so so pleased you’re feeling more positive ❤️❤️ great news! 🙏🏼

@Meeting omg yes!! I suddenly feel like I know nothing at all and I’m now terrified 🫣🫣🤣 I’ve booked a hypnobirthing and antenatal course starting in December so I’m hoping that helps 🙏🏼🙏🏼🫣🫣

anyone else’s movements feel like constant trapped wind gurgling around in your belly??? I keep doubting that I’m feeling movement at all 😫😫

msp2023 · 23/10/2023 07:42

@AllAboardTootToot @CheeseAndCrackersx
Thanks both! Confirmed that I will be going and getting some 😊😊

@msp2023 No, I didn't like pram suits. Hard to get baby in and out of, if they fall asleep in them and you go inside they can overheat. Or you have to wake them up to get their arms and legs out. You can't use them in a sling as it damages their hip and leg joints.

The pram wraps were masses better and there were loads of cute ones

Meeting · 23/10/2023 08:17

@msp2023 yes I've bought one in 0-3! Admittedly it's designer and embarrassingly expensive but I know I would like more children and will use it again for them

Sunshineclouds11 · 23/10/2023 09:16

I have a lovely pram suit from my first which I'll be using again.

amyg1985 · 23/10/2023 10:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - that's good to know. This is my first and I've been worried about constantly taking their little arms and legs out of the suits etc. I've googled pram wrap but they look quite similar to suits - seem to not have arms but still have legs. Is that right? Or is it more like a blanket?

redxlondon · 23/10/2023 12:14

I just can’t face buying anything until I know the baby will arrive safely. I don’t know how to mentally get past this - what helped you all start buying items?

Cheetocat · 23/10/2023 12:22

@redxlondon We've done loads of planning and talking about everything we need for baby but haven't bought anything yet either. I think for a combination of reasons, it feels more real now with baby kicking and bring close to 24 weeks but at the same time I think we still don't feel like it's real and that I've got an actual baby in there! I think the next time I'm out I'll just take the plunge and pick up something, even if it's just a pack of socks for baby. I'm sure once you get started it makes it feel more natural to continue buying and preparing.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 23/10/2023 12:30

@amyg1985 that's what I found with the pram suit, I got gifted a couple and never used them.

I had one like this with a zip and no legs https://babymori.com/products/padded-pram-liner-footmuff?variant=40259760586838&utmcampaign=UKK-PerformanceeMax--Outlet--NCA&gadsource=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjKDv3oeMggMVGfHtCh0fJwblEAQYASABEgIOuuDBwE

And one like this, which has roomy legs but unwraps just by pulling it apart. https://www.lullabysecret.com/products/baby-teddy-pramsuit?variant=43074364244187&currency=GBP&utmmedium=producttsync&utmsource=google&utmmcontent=sagorganic&utmmcampaign=sagorganic&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjKDv3oeMggMVGfHtCh0fJwblEAQYAyABEgIGffDDBwE

Just easy when you nip into a shop, cafe, for lunch, a friends house, or your own house and don't want to wake a sleeping baby!

amyg1985 · 23/10/2023 12:39

Thanks @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - that's really helpful.

@redxlondon I completely understand. It's only very recently I've been able to contemplate buying anything. For me, my MIL bought a cardigan and that kind of got the ball rolling. My husband and I go "just to look" at things in the shop or browse online and I've managed to buy a couple of sleepsuits that are tucked away in a box under the bed since I'd find them alarming to look at all the time. I've got a list on my phone of the bigger things we want to buy/know are coming as gifts but haven't been able to take the plunge yet. It's starting to feel easier though.

LavenderSweetPea · 23/10/2023 15:43

Since our last chat on here about buying things for baby, I built up the courage to make my first purchase a couple of days ago, and it's a big one - we bought a pram! I do feel quite relieved as it's a big decision it's nice to know it's been done, although it's not been delivered yet and it's going to be delivered to my parents house so they can store it until we need it so I don't have to see it and have a little panic 😅

Maybe in a couple of weeks who knows, I could have a car seat or a crib!

@redxlondon I think I'm still not ready to go into a store and buy anything, not even socks yet! but I've found with the pram that buying online and getting delivered somewhere else so I never have to see it until baby is here was manageable. Obviously will have to get over this at some point, but we've still got a way to go

Cheetocat · 23/10/2023 15:57

Anyone know about changing bags? Are the backpack ones impractical?

CharXo · 23/10/2023 16:46

@Cheetocat i had a backpack one last time around and it was super! So much space to pack whatever I needed.. insulated front pouch to keep bottles warm etc. Defo going to get another this time. I think I got mine from Amazon but lots of places sell them 😁

Cheetocat · 23/10/2023 16:48

@CharXo Thank you!

Edited

That’s a really good idea, I could have items sent to my parents. Then if anything terrible happens they can hopefully help… I’m just always thinking of all possible outcomes with anything I can do. Deep down, I am picturing cuddling my healthy little boy in February.

Although….has anyone else had kicks in the cervix yet? WTF is that about?! I’ve just left work to try see if walking about will move him. It doesn’t hurt, just feels SUPER weird.

anony1111 · 23/10/2023 18:46

@Cheetocat I would defo recommend a backpack changing bag, so much easier and plenty of room for everything. I too had one from Amazon as @CharXo describes. They can be attached to the pram easily too as they have little straps to clip onto the pram handle.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 23/10/2023 20:22

Got a very firm and achy bump today

Kelb79 · 23/10/2023 20:57

@redxlondon omg yes!!! My little wriggler is using my cervix as a trampoline!!! As reassuring as it is I’m totally not loving it!! Makes me feel soooo odd!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Nemo145 · 23/10/2023 21:04

@Shrillwaffle Im so pleased to see you’ve got past 23+5. I hope with each day that passes you’re able to feel a bit more positive.

Shrillwaffle · 23/10/2023 21:46

Nemo145 · 23/10/2023 21:49

@Shrillwaffle Im 24+1 today, my daughter came @ 25+2 so the next week will be an anxious one but I had a scan today and my stitch is certainly doing it’s job so that’s given me some reassurance.
