I did post about this but nobody got back to me so thought I'd try here!

I'm 26 weeks and experiencing quite intense pressure/pain in my vagina - not internal, more external so I'm assuming this is PGP?
It's worse at night, when trying to roll over or get out of bed / when I'm walking around.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Worried it's going to be present for the next few months and it's really quite frustrating and uncomfortable!

Have you spoken with your doctor or midwife?

CheeseAndCrackersx · 27/10/2023 14:20

Someone needs to take my Vinted account away..... spending so much on little man 🙈🤣

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 27/10/2023 16:03

@CheeseAndCrackersx once you shop you can't stop 😂 I'm in the habit recently of ordering things but my partner doesn't know about it 🤣 is that bad? :/ haha x

Callmemummynotmaaa · 27/10/2023 18:12

@msp2023 thats how I’d describe my PGP - though I also get back pain too. I’ve seen physio in previous pregnancies - things that help are oddly: going backwards down the stairs and trying to move keeping my knees together (so I’ll sit, and reach my right foot across my left leg and bend to get my shoe/sock on rather than lift my leg if that makes sense?, or when moving out of bed, I’ll do it in stages so as not to shift my pelvis too much). No lifting is meant to be another one but with a house full of toddlers that ain’t happening :) In this pregnancy. I’ve seen a woman’s osteopath twice privately and she’s been incredible. I’ve a lot more movement and less pain than I had in previous pregnancies at this stage.

anony1111 · 27/10/2023 19:19

@msp2023 yeah over the last few weeks mine has got progressively worse. I called my midwife today about it actually and she has referred me to physiotherapy.
I'm only 22 weeks so dreading it getting any worse.

Have you spoken to your midwife or GP?

msp2023 · 27/10/2023 23:23

@anony1111 @Callmemummynotmaaa
Thank you both! This is helpful to know it's normal and most likely PGP. I will talk to my midwife at my next appt but going to try some of the techniques mentioned online and doing some stretches/yoga!

Is anyone else’s bump very low down? People have commented on how low it is and now I’m a little concerned.

Mine isn't but I don't think it's anything to be concerned about at all! I know some people do carry quite low and that's perfectly normal!
Yours is so cute and as long as midwife checks, scans etc are going well, nothing to worry about :)
I look almost full term wirh my bump size compared to you!

Kelb79 · 28/10/2023 11:54

@FrostedFlake yes! I’m super low aswell! My bump looks identical to yours! And it’s so uncomfortable as baby seems to be rummaging around in my pelvis every time they move 😫😫
loads of people have commented on mine - most say that boys carry low (I’m having a surprise so I can’t confirm 🤷🏼‍♀️) but I also know that if you’re tall it’s quite common too!
im 5”11
how tall are you? Do you know the gender? xX

CheeseAndCrackersx · 28/10/2023 13:23

When does the third trimester begin? Is it the start of 28 weeks?

DmcinT · 28/10/2023 15:32

@CheeseAndCrackersx i think it’s officially from the start of week 27, Mad to think we’re almost there.

I’ve had lots of comments on my bump being very small or awful neat etc.. even though it’s measured with gp and all is measuring good, it gets in your head that something is wrong 🙈 I don’t know if I’ve ever made those type comments to ppl before🙈 but note to self to just say nothing or something like ur bump is gorgeous etc in the future 😬

Nemo145 · 28/10/2023 16:51

My bump seems quite low and I know it’s a boy.

Does anyone else have really sore boobs/ nipples? I’m 24+6.

AmyA64 · 28/10/2023 17:10

My bump is also very low and looks like yours. I’m only feeling movements in my pelvis at the moment too. I’ve got an anterior placenta so that’s reducing the amount of movements I’m feeling. I’m very short too though (5’2) and I didn’t know low bumps were common if you’re taller. I’m also having a surprise so no idea if it’s a boy or not, but 90% of people seem to think I’m having a boy!

Cheetocat · 28/10/2023 17:34

@Nemo145 My nipples are so sore and sensitive, if I get a little cold it feels like they're burning and I have to safeguard them when my partner rolls over in bed because if anything brushes off them it's horrible too!

I'm having a boy and my bump is not low at all, I have a high anterior placenta and still feel him a lot on the sides up high.

novamama · 28/10/2023 17:44

I am not sure if my bump classifies as low, but it is still very small!! So small that when I met my friends the other week they were scared to ask about baby because there was no bump 😅 even though I gained 10kg since pregnancy 😬

But baby is happy so all that matters!

@Nemo145 Yes!! Especially when I am cold, nipples get so sore. I have never had painful nipples in my life so that is definitely a new type of pain.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 28/10/2023 18:52

Ah really @DmcinT. I only have just over 2 weeks left of the 2nd trimester then 😀

Clueless13 · 28/10/2023 18:55

@FrostedFlake @Kelb79 I’m carrying quite low and having a boy! :)

baby’s movements are on and off atm, anyone else still having quiet days with baby movements??

Yes! I'm 26+1, some days the movement is crazy and other days are quieter! As long as I feel some kind of movement throughout the day, I feel reassured.
If I haven't by the evening, I give my belly a little prod and that usually makes baby react which makes me feel better!
Can't help but constantly worry about what classes as 'reduced movement' at this stage!

Is anyone feeling really big? People have been giving me seats on the tube for a couple of months now, and I don't wear a baby on board badge. I've yet to be measured but getting a bit worried it could be gestational diabetes. I had it last time and I was very visibly pregnant at the start of second trimester. I'm only 25 weeks (so have a loooong way to go still...

Yes! I am feeling really big - this is my first so haven't got anything to compare it to except online pictures etc.
I'm just going with it as I know everyone carries differently! Can't worry about something that hasn't happened yet :)
As long as we're eating well and staying active.. everything else is out of our control!

amyg1985 · 28/10/2023 20:32

I'm having active days and quiet days on the movement front too - I'm hoping that's normal before c.28 weeks when I think they get more of a pattern. I'm pleased to hear I'm not the only one.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 28/10/2023 20:45

I'm finding he's more active in the morning and early afternoon now instead of the nightly active he used to be.

Sunshineclouds11 · 28/10/2023 20:46

I'm also the same regarding movements!
Quiet hours and busy hours.

There's been times I've wiggled my belly and jumped up and down in the hope to feel her move 😅

I've got MW this week so I'll clarify when a pattern should be forming etc.

Mangotango39 · 28/10/2023 23:46

@msp2023 I mentioned this to a Dr at birth suite , it's worse when I have been on a big walk. She said its the weight of everything and need more support. Adviced me to wear good quality bike shorts or leggings with some hold during the day if i'm active.

On movements ,I have anterior placenta and somedays baby is so quieter and other days having a party LOL!
If I eat too much like a large meal they do not move at all after which has happened twice this week as I went out for a dinner and lunch. Scared me half to death haha!

FrostedFlake · 29/10/2023 07:22

@msp2023 @Kelb79 glad to hear there’s a few of us carrying quite low ☺️ I also have an anterior placenta and feel the movements more so in the sides of my pelvis.
We are having a boy so maybe the old wives tales are true on this one.
It kind of makes sense if you are quite tall that the baby might be lower down unless they are quite a big baby. I’m only 5”2 too so maybe height is not as big if a factor but I do look like I’m literally wearing a tyre under my clothing as the bump is just in the one place low down 😅 still love it though.

I have been feeling movements on and off and I’m sure having an anterior placenta doesn’t help but it stresses me out quite a lot. I have been eating a lot of chocolate as the baby seems to respond well to it and starts moving more.

Does anyone have any tips for how to tackle lower back pain?
