Hope everyone is ok, I'm counting down the days until my 20 week scan on Monday. Can't wait to see baby but also really nervous, I feel like my bump hasn't grown much over the past week and I'm still not feeling definite movements. Hoping everyone will be fine and trying not to worry!

@sashastuck so sorry about your accident! Glad you're ok, we also desperately need a new car but we're so rubbish at looking 😂p

Thank you!

Mummyme87 · 17/08/2023 12:44

Thanks for the tag

Mummyme87 · 17/08/2023 12:49

My trust has just been given inadequate by cqc. Joy. We are all getting the blame even though it’s all about shit management/execs, buildings and estates, staffing.

TunnocksTCake · 17/08/2023 12:53

Part 6 already!! Thanks for setting up @Bims2019

Kalodin · 17/08/2023 13:00

I think a lot of the public do know that @Mummyme87 , if that helps at all.

The other hospital in my Trust has just been shut down. I'm not sure why, but my colleague's wife is currently labouring in the hospital I'm registered to and it's apparently absolute chaos as they've had to take on all the maternity care from the shut maternity unit. I did have a quick Google and there's been infection issues (which doesn't surprise me although had hoped they had fixed that considering their lack of care for infection was what caused DS2 to die)

Mushroo · 17/08/2023 13:02

@Mummyme87 my trust has been downgraded to ‘inadequate’ as well. (Manchester).

In your experience should I be worried? It was mainly due to lack of staffing (one of my big fears is being left alone at crucial points) and lack of trained staff :/

Also some points about equipment not being available but that doesn’t worry me as much for some reason!

Flossiepot · 17/08/2023 13:12

Just marking my place on the new thread.
Part 6 already? 🙈

Bims2019 · 17/08/2023 13:22

@Hummusanddipdip good luck for Wednesday! Don't know about you but I'm really distracted this week, just want to know if everything is ok now.

Just had a look at my trust and it's down as requires improvement, I've only really had good experiences at my hospital apart from waiting times so hopefully it's nothing to worry about!

FirstT1meMum · 17/08/2023 13:26

Thank you @Bims2019. With you on counting down, mines Tuesday! DH keeps asking if I'm okay and honestly I'm scared @#!*less! I think I must suffer with some sort of scan anxiety! With you on not really feeling much and no obvious bump! Just wish I could relax 😔
Anyone else suffer with pain at the top of your back, like between shoulders? Keep telling myself it's the way I'm sitting as it doesn't hurt when standing ect but as I've got too much time on my hands I'm worrying about every little ache! Don't want to be that woman who keeps ringing the unit or Dr! 🙈

Mummyme87 · 17/08/2023 13:28

@Mushroo honestly wouldn’t worry about it. It’s all bullshit about staffing and the executive teams not being visible. Everywhere is short staffed, it’s a chronic shortage. But the staff all try their hardest and want to provide excellent care which is what the cqc repeatedly say

HopeAndStrength · 17/08/2023 13:35

Just placemarking the new thread as well x

Mummyme87 · 17/08/2023 13:38

@Kalodin which hospital has been closed down?

Onedayatatime24 · 17/08/2023 13:39

Thanks for setting up @Bims2019!

I had a call with a consultant today due to high BMI but they didn't seem worried. I was worried that I hadn't put any weight on yet but she said I should aim not to gain at all (without going hungry)! Also get growth scans at 32 and 36 weeks which I'm not mad about as I'll take any opportunity to see baby. Just hoping I can avoid getting GD!

Has anyone had their hair dyed since being pregnant? Midwife says it's fine but read mixed things online, hairdressers has said I should go in for a patch test. What's everyone's opinions?

TunnocksTCake · 17/08/2023 13:42

@FirstT1meMum I have had that sort of pain for years. There are good yoga stretches for it - look up threading the needle it feels SOOO good! Also normally use a TENs machine. Think it is to do with posture - Im v tall and hunch a lot especially at my desk, plus carrying a heavy toddler doesnt help.

Mushroo · 17/08/2023 13:58

@Mummyme87 thank you, it’s so good to hear from the other side! Sounds it’s a bit like ofsted that just focuses on a load of crap that doesn’t matter or can’t be changed with the complete lack of resources!

Ttcdcno1 · 17/08/2023 14:04

Thanks for setting up @Bims2019

FirstT1meMum · 17/08/2023 14:18

@TunnocksTCake thank you! Definitely think it's got to be to do with posture, just scary when you start googling things! 🤦🏼‍♀️
I'm going to have a go at some pregnancy yoga this afternoon and see if it helps 🤞

Kalodin · 17/08/2023 14:19

I don't think it's been closed down permanently (hope not because the strain will be immense on the othet hospital otherwise), i know staff shortages have also been a huge issue across the trust, I've asked MIL for what's happened as she's recently retired from there @Mummyme87 . It was Colchester that was closed, with the other maternity patients all moved across to Ipswich.

Sambeaumont · 17/08/2023 14:20
