Think we will go for the bugaboo fox 3 since it’s being discontinued and massively reduced, doesn’t seem to be much of a difference at all with the fox 5… and financially stupid to pay out for it when we won’t use it again after this baby!!

Matildahoney · 19/08/2023 08:36

If you're not precious about brand new, we got our Ocarro practically brand new on marketplace for £95. We just need to get the car seat new!

MrsJ6921 · 19/08/2023 08:42

I’ve also got a date set for my baby shower in November! And we have an appointment to choose our pram next week, we’ve already decided on the Oyster 3 In Butterscotch just needing to add a car seat into the bundle as we’ve not looked at those.

Lightningrain · 19/08/2023 08:56

@Mummyme87 The Fox 3 is also on my shortlist due to the discounted price. The only thing that puts me off is that it seems to be quite a bit bigger when folded down due to the wheels. I’m conscious of taking up the entire car boot so that there’s no room for shopping etc.

I’m hoping to have a look at the ones we’ve shortlisted and see what they’re like to push and how easily they’d fit in our boot. I know someone with an Ocarro and they’re really happy with it but another friend said they’ve never used their travel system pram once the baby is big enough for a pushchair due to the size/weight of them which kind of puts me off spending a fortune.

Lraine86 · 19/08/2023 09:36

Thanks for setting up @Bims2019 . I tend to dip in every few weeks. Sorry to hear about your accident @sashastuck .

Got my 20 week scan this Friday. DP and I didn’t feel any movements until The Weeknd concert last night. It was exciting and overwhelming to experience it together. The baby wasn’t responding to any soft music 😂.

Currently decluttering before baby arrives whilst I’ve still got the energy. Sent my MatB1 form in on Thursday and trying to decide on when I want my maternity leave to start.

Can safely say I’ve adjusted to GDM despite it taking 12 weeks to do so and getting used to sweet stuff once a week. Used to love chocolate but now it doesn’t excite me much. At least it’s kept me in shape only gained 2-3 kg and still in most of my normal clothes.

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2023 09:41

@Lightningrain I had the bugaboo chameleon 3 previously and they are chunky, took up whole boot. The wheels come off very easily but obvs not ideal. We need a new car so not sure about boot space, certainly will be different as will have a 7 seater

LozzieLoo · 19/08/2023 11:34

We are going to a mamas & papas appointment as this is our first so I have no idea what I’m looking for in prams, car seats etc!
Can I ask why you’ve chosen the prams you all have?

Firsttimerugbymum · 19/08/2023 11:40

Does anyone else feel huge for the weeks they are at? I’m only 18 weeks and given up today and out maternity clothes on.

Was planning on telling colleagues at 20 weeks as still nervous but got no hope of hiding this for another two weeks. Might just have to be bold and dare someone to say anything 😂

any advice?

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2023 11:57

@LozzieLoo I had a bugaboo with my first two and loved it. Expensive but very good pram. Good suspension, lasts for whole time they need a pushchair, looks nice, handles well.

@Firsttimerugbymum I’ve got a big bump (when I stand up, looks like fat when I sit down and lie down not really noticeable just looks like a tummy). Im 19wks, will try and take a photo. I’ve been in maternity clothes for weeks 😅 it is my 3rd though

Inmydreams88 · 19/08/2023 12:07

We did a bit of window shopping yesterday but seeing things in person is making me very poor because I want the most expensive things 😭 I saw the Bugaboo Fox 5 in the Mamas and Papas store and we've decided to go for that one in all black with the Cybex car seat that lays flat. Buying it online though as it's cheaper.

Also decided on the Mamas and Papas Franklin nursery furniture in white wash.

I'm trying not to buy everything new though. I've just bought a baby bjorn bliss bouncer second hand on eBay and I've been buying tons of baby clothes and a few maternity bits on Vinted recently. Got some absolute bargains especially on Mamas and Papas clothing.

Hummusanddipdip · 19/08/2023 12:13

We had a 3 in 1 my babiie travel system for ds, the frame folded up nicely to fit in the boot, the car seat was quite smart and easy to get out/put in the car and attach to the base and on a vain level, we liked the zigzag pattern. Went grey and navy.

With this one, we've been given a graco travel system by family, this one's got an isofix base. It's another navy one. Honestly never heard of them and wasn't sure what to expect, but it's nice, easy to maneuver and smooth to push.

LittleAlien24 · 19/08/2023 13:56

Congrats to everyone on their scans and it's really lovely to read about all the movements and actually seeing them move. Im 19 weeks today and even tho it's my 3rd and placenta is at the back i still don't feel anything 😔🤔
Bump seems to have gone smaller /not grown so now panicking over that 😣 OH keeps saying its ok.
Have my endocrinologist appointment on Monday to check my thyroid levels and then my 20 weeks scan next Monday the 28th that seems so far away.

Kalodin · 19/08/2023 15:23

I hope that suddenly you start noticing the movements @LittleAlien24

lucya66 · 19/08/2023 15:36

@LozzieLoo i went to mamas and papas and tried out the Nuna, the bugaboo and the m&p Ocarro. The sales assistant there really helped me understand the differences between them. And pushing them around to trial the ride was good. Ultimately decided on Ocarro as it had everything I wanted and was a good price. It’s also well reviewed and the warranty was good. But it is a bit heavy.

I also got the Cybex Cloud car seat in the bundle which I read is good.

FirstT1meMum · 19/08/2023 16:32

@MrsJ6921 we also went for the oyster but in moon. We tried quite a few options and I found this one the easiest to collapse and put back up and it seemed the lightest! We are over the moon with it. She did ask when I was due as there can be a wait, she did say some wouldn't be delivered until November!

@LittleAlien24 hopefully you will start feeling little one soon! I constantly obsess over how my bump feels (as I don't think I can physically see anything!). Depending how I am sitting it totally changes. When I'm standing I can definitely feel where I'm hardening up but when I'm sitting it's totally soft and then when I'm lying down DH says he can definitely feel where my tummy is harder around my belly button! I'm constantly worrying about how it feels softer some days than others and how I can't feel much most days! Such a awkward time in limbo waiting for scans and for definite movements. Sending lots of love ❤️

LittleAlien24 · 19/08/2023 16:50

Thanks @Kalodin and @FirstT1meMum
@FirstT1meMum when im sitting i just look fat lol

Can't wait to get all the stuff sorted so it will feel more real 😊I've 1 buggy, high chair, foldable crib for downstairs, snuggle nest, breastfeeding pillow, some clothes, some toys, car seat all with my OH in another country lol can't wait to get there in October to bring them home.

Dannic2018 · 19/08/2023 18:27

Bless you @LittleAlien24 it’s an anxious time waiting I felt exactly the same and still get moments through the day and try and sit and give my tummy a rub. 9/10 she then moves but there still delicate prods/movements as my placenta is anterior and low lying 😩. Roll on the 24 weeks mark!

We went to my mams today to take pics of my sons Mamas and Papas travel system and my hubby fell in love with it again and thinks we should keep, it’s the Urbo 2 it’s chrome with navy blue and tan leather, do you think it’s ok for a girl ? I am also going to get a Doona for my little Hyundai as I’ll only use the 7 seater when I need shopping etc. We just can’t afford £500+ on a new one, I have my daughters 18th next week. Hubbys birthday, ds 3rd birthday and ds 16th birthday in October, still need some school uniforms and then it’s Xmas! Plus still renovating house. I love a pre loved bargain and I know once she’s 6 months plus we will get an umbrella fold stroller. Definitely going to use my sling wrap more this time too!

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2023 18:34

@Dannic2018 any colour is fine for a girl (or a boy), especially navy blue. We will probably get navy blue or grey regardless.

Luhou · 19/08/2023 18:49

We still have silvercross pioneer from DD, it's dark grey and brown leather. Loved it for my DD and colour is now perfect for baby boy too.

FirstT1meMum · 19/08/2023 18:55

Sorry this will be obscure (and completely off tangent!).

Is anyone monitoring their blood pressure with an automatic machine at home? I've been monitoring for a bit due to a bit of anxiety of it being slightly raised at my 16 week appointment. Midwife didn't seem overly concerned but did want to potentially keep an eye on it.

Basically the box says not suitable for pregnant women and I've only just noticed 🤦🏼‍♀️ Is this because it's unreliable or is it likely to have caused some kind of harm? Totally spiralling 😔🫠

LittleAlien24 · 19/08/2023 19:20

@Dannic2018 thanks. Think this color is absolutely fine for a girl and if ye like the buggy and it's working then why not to keep it. We got second hand buggy with carrycot and car seat for a really good price (same price like we'd got just the car seat) so i could use the wheels for car seat but when he's gonna grow out of the carrycot we gonna use my second daughter's buggy that's by then is 17 years old 😁

suz2285 · 19/08/2023 21:03

@FirstT1meMum I've been monitoring mine at home visiting my mum this weekend and she's a nurse, she says totally fine to monitor! No idea why the box would say that, how strange! Def will not cause any harm ❤️

FirstT1meMum · 19/08/2023 21:23

@suz2285 I knew I was being ridiculous (now have to admit this to DH🤣🙈).

Yeah when I told DH it said that he thought it was really odd! Thank you so much ❤️

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2023 21:28

@FirstT1meMum god knows why it says not suitable for pregnancy. If it hasn’t been calibrated though it won’t be reliable.

Did some cleaning this afternoon, including hoovering and mopping downstairs, cleaning the front windows inside and out and hoovering the stairs… think my back is done. I put my back out in first pregnancy jet washing the car at 34weeks 😂😂

FirstT1meMum · 19/08/2023 21:39

@Mummyme87 I did think it was strange! Now I've come down from the initial 'crap why would it say that?!' And actually thinking logically it's probably a reliability thing (like you say with calibration) and the company covering their own back! Mind just panicked when I read it 🙈 I think the fact I only had 4 hours sleep last night doesn't help!!!

Oh my you've done amazing today! I've been saying to DH all week we need yo start decluttering before I go back to work and I know I will be fit for nothing and we've not started anything 🤣 wish I had your stamina - that would take me all week to do all those jobs!
