Hi all, I couldn't see a new thread and the last one looks full so starting part 6. Hope that's ok! Have tagged as many people as I could, really sorry if I forget anyone.

@Mushroo yes! I've been so forgetful and clumsy, keep dropping and walking into things. I didn't shut the freezer door properly the other day so everything defrosted 🙄 being a functional adult has been difficult this week 😂

@FirstT1meMum I'm 20+3 and my movements sound really similar to yours, like a ripple or slight rolling/bubbling under my belly button. I keep thinking it's just my stomach as I've had really bad wind the last couple of days (sorry TMI 🙈). Last night I did feel a couple of pulses in a row, which I thought could be kicks but equally could just be my blood pumping. It's so hard to know at this stage!

@Bims2019 it gets worse for me. I’m at a wedding this weekend, went to check the hotel check in time, and I never actually booked it!! So glad I checked and didn’t just turn up 😂.

Im normally so organised!

FirstT1meMum · 18/08/2023 12:05

@Mushroo I think baby brain has seriously hit these last couple of weeks! I'll be having a conversation and it's like I've suddenly forgotten every word in the dictionary 🤣🫠

@Bims2019 oh amazing! Thank you so much. It's so hard to know what I'm actually waiting to feel and I've not really got anyone I can ask! Nice to know others are feeling similar sensations ❤️

Ttcdcno1 · 18/08/2023 13:19

@FirstT1meMum so many times this week I’ve stopped mid conversation with DH and said ‘oh what’s the word for it?’ Or you know what I mean the thing… and then have to describe it like we’re playing charades😂

MrsJ6921 · 18/08/2023 13:19

@Onedayatatime24 i’be had my hair done both at 8 and 18 weeks and it’s been fine. I just let my hairdresser know as the. Leach/colour can react differently due to your body temperature changing and hormones. But I’ve had no problems. I couldn’t cope without having my hair and nails done! 🤣

Onedayatatime24 · 18/08/2023 14:02

Thanks all for the hair advice! I rang the hairdressers and they suggested I go in for a patch test but otherwise all good.

Also I'm with you all with baby brain! Someone will be talking to me and it'll be like I just can't process anything. Having to write everything down because I forget otherwise, been a right melt the last few weeks!

Buttonmoon86 · 18/08/2023 15:04

Scan all good 😊 x

Mummyme87 · 18/08/2023 15:07

Good news @Buttonmoon86

Is anyone a dentist at all? I suffer with clicky jaw on my right side but in pregnancy it is getting so much worse and today as agony. My ability to open my jaw is getting less. I’ll try and book a dentist appt but not sure there’s anything other than paracetamol and ice packs

Lilothblos · 18/08/2023 15:14

Great news @Buttonmoon86 !

I’m currently 19w exactly and have been feeling movements for a while now, but recently I’ve occasionally felt movement and quite a hard lump on one or both sides of my tummy, and then it goes away after a few minutes! I can even see the lump from the outside. Has anyone else had this and could that be baby’s head / bum / back or too early for that?

sashastuck · 18/08/2023 16:14

Fantastic @Buttonmoon86 congratulations x

@Lilothblos I’ve felt the hard lump on one side for sure! My bump definitely feels harder when my bladder is full, could it be to do with that? Otherwise yeah maybe it’s a little head or bum 😭❤️

Lilothblos · 18/08/2023 16:17

@sashastuck for me I’m pretty sure it isn’t the bladder thing because it moves within a few minutes without me going to the toilet! And weird for it to be on one side if its that. That’s so cute if it is our little ones! 😍

MrsJ6921 · 18/08/2023 17:07

@Lilothblos this happened to me last night! My husband reckoned it was her little bum

Kalodin · 18/08/2023 17:52

So exciting that babies are feeling felt so much more by some of you! Excited to be at that stage!

My mum's booked my baby shower! I'm so excited, she's done it for 30th Sept so I will hopefully not go into labour before this time! Never had a chance to have one with previous 3. I know baby showers are often viewed on MN as being distasteful but I'm so excited to have a lovely lunch with all my favourite women.

RG9895 · 18/08/2023 17:58

Love hearing all about movements! I felt some kicks for the last 3 days and its just amazing! I can't get over the feeling! Can't wait to feel her more ☺️

@Kalodin how exciting! Ive been told to make a group chat next month so they can start organising! Its all happening so quickly!!

Kalodin · 18/08/2023 18:19

It's so fast isn't it @RG9895 ! Have you any details on yours? Mums shared the location with me and it's the cutest typical English countryside pub, it's just so me!

Good news @Buttonmoon86

I don’t really have a clicky jaw but I’ve noticed my jaw has been aching recently.

Anyone else had this with previous pregnancies?

Mummyme87 · 18/08/2023 19:09

@Inmydreams88 not had it in either of my other pregnancies. It’s really painful, struggling to bite down and open mouth to bite. Had a woman at work a couple of months back who suffered from clicky jaw and she got locked jaw a couple of days pre induction. Could quite do without a total locked jaw!!!

Salamander91 · 18/08/2023 19:34

Glad scan went well @Buttonmoon86

I'm with you all on the dodgy brain. The sonographer was asking me really simple questions during my scan like how old my kids are and where I had my private scan but she may as well have been giving me quadratic equations to solve 😂

I'm not sure if I mentioned on the last thread but my body has started responding to the iron tablets. I've gone from 89 to 100 in two weeks so hopefully it'll be enough to get my levels up to normal because I only tolerate a low dose of iron.

lilluce95 · 18/08/2023 20:35

@Mummyme87 not a dentist but do you clench your teeth or grind them during the night? That can lead to a clicky jaw

@Kalodin how exciting for you!! 😍 I don't think they're distasteful at all, I think it's a lovely thing to do with your closest friends/family.

Love hearing about all your babies movements!! I can't wait for that to come!

Hummusanddipdip · 18/08/2023 21:00

I love attending baby showers, but for some reason I can't seem to get on board with having one for me 🤣

No logic there haha

I can't wait for regular movement! Just getting odd pulling sensations every so often.

Dh and I had a chat today as ds is at nursery on Wednesday, so we're going to pick him up early after the scan and take him shopping to chose an outfit for baby, then go and visit grandparents and he'll tell them if he's having a brother or a sister... something tells me no matter what baby is, he will say "she's/he's a sister" 🤣

Mummyme87 · 18/08/2023 21:05

@lilluce95 the dentist said there was some evidence on my gums that I grind my teeth but no one has ever said I do, DH has never heard me do it. I have scar tissue on my gums from braces as a teen so don’t know if it’s that. He said my jaw was poorly aligned which could cause clicky jaw. Will try and see the dentist next week, although don’t think they will do anything but just to make sure there’s nothing else

sashastuck · 18/08/2023 22:01

@Mummyme87 my sister works with dentists, I’ll ask her!

@Kalodin and @RG9895 so exciting about your baby showers. I’ve got a date for mine but organising it myself so that’s a job for another day

First strong kicks today, my partner felt them a couple of times! Magical! Considering I had nothing yesterday and panicked, it was a nice surprise x

Lightningrain · 18/08/2023 22:03

@lucya66 I’ve got the Ocarro travel system on my list of ones to look at. I wonder if I need to get a move on if delivery times are 3 months.

Great to hear about everyone’s scans. I had mine today but the baby wouldn’t turn over so that they could check the spine so I have to go back for a rescan. Thankfully everything else looked fine.

I’m 20+2 and don’t think I’ve felt any movements yet. The midwife said not to worry until 25 weeks though.

lucya66 · 18/08/2023 22:08

@Lightningrain i went for the Ocarro too :) ordered this morning. Sorry for any confusion, delivery times aren’t necessarily 3 months- it’s optional but I just chose that date :)

Lightningrain · 18/08/2023 22:20

@lucya66 ah, ok. That makes sense. I was looking at an online shop earlier in the week and there were a lot that said order for Sept/Oct delivery so I wondered if it was long delivery times across the board.

I think the Ocarro looks like a good all rounder and I like the fact that they have all the different bundle options. I think we’ll try and get to a shop to try some out in the next couple of weeks.
