@Ttcdcno1 don’t worry about it. If you get it you can get over the counter treatment which is safe in pregnancy

Ttcdcno1 · 16/09/2023 18:25

@Mummyme87 ok thank you!

FirstT1meMum · 16/09/2023 18:39

Anyone else not yet in a routine with movements? I feel her daily but it seems I don't feel anything in the day (could be with working possibly) then as soon as I go to bed I can feel her kicking away, some nights she is way more active and prominent though! Then at the weekend she really seems to ramp up then quietens down again come Monday! I do have anterior placenta and extra padding 🤣 24 weeks tomorrow and just wondering if this was still normal?

Hummusanddipdip · 16/09/2023 18:50

Same here @FirstT1meMum no real rhyme or reason to when he fidgets I'm 23 weeks Tuesday. At work I don't notice anything until I'm in bed. Although extremely fidgety today, I spent the morning playing football and in the park with ds and kept getting pressure behind my belly button and then this afternoon laying on the sofa reading it feels like cartwheels 🤣 but every single time I ask dh or ds to feel movement, he stills 🤦‍♀️

Lightningrain · 16/09/2023 18:57

@FirstT1meMum I tend to only feel anything if I sit or lie down. I don’t think there’s any pattern otherwise. I’m assuming that comes further down the line as the midwife said to try and note any pattern from 25 weeks onwards.

Mushroo · 16/09/2023 19:02

@FirstT1meMum zero pattern at 25 weeks. I feel her everyday now but there’s no rhyme or reason to it at all.

Kalodin · 16/09/2023 19:11

@FirstT1meMum With my previous babies, I didn't notice set patterns throughout the day but more based on what I was doing. And likewise with this baby too. If I'm busy I tend to notice movements less, especially if I'm moving about. It's when I'm laying down or sitting in certain positions I notice movements. And they all definitely start moving when I'm eating and drinking.

Inmydreams88 · 16/09/2023 19:13

I am 25 weeks on Wednesday and no pattern here with movements either. I woke up at 1am and he was moving around so much, and today I’ve felt strong movements all day but when I’m at work I only notice it once or twice.

FirstT1meMum · 16/09/2023 19:16

Thank you everyone!! It seems like ages since I saw my midwife and I couldn't remember for the life of me when she said there should be a pattern so I'm just that bit too early I guess! Thank you, feel better that's is not unusual! ❤️

Onedayatatime24 · 16/09/2023 19:49

Same here, I only feel movements when I'm still, I do feel them around the same time each day but that's usually because they're the times I sit down (like when I get to work or when I get in from work). I'm 23 weeks tomorrow. Desperate for DH to feel something from the outside but just not happening yet!! I know still early. Has anyone felt anything from the outside yet??

Kalodin · 16/09/2023 20:07

DH feels the movements on the outside regularly now when we are in bed. 20weeks and 5 days here now.

Mummyme87 · 16/09/2023 20:10

Some women never have a pattern of movements, otherwise 26-28wks is commonly the noticeable time.
mine aren’t a pattern at all but frequent and 23wks today

RG9895 · 16/09/2023 20:17

I'm 24 weeks Tuesday, no set pattern throughout the day and can vary from not a lot to loads the only pattern I notice is she has a good kick around from 10:30pm for an hour. Husband has only managed to feel her on 2 occasions as she stops when he puts his hand on 😂 but definitely can see from the outside and managed to get some on video! I also have an anterior placenta.

RaspberryTime · 16/09/2023 21:29

No pattern with me either but am definitely noticing increased movements when I sit or lay down like others have said. I also have an anterior placenta. I’m 24 weeks today.

sashastuck · 16/09/2023 22:52

The only pattern I know of is when I’m lying in bed around 9pm onwards he gets quite active. In the summer hols when I had time to laze around in bed he’d kick in the mornings, but now I’m lucky if I feel him before springing up with my alarm. Throughout the day time I don’t always feel him, probs every other day. 24+2 x

Mummyme87 · 17/09/2023 06:50

So I’ve had an itchy left palm intermittently for a few weeks, thought not much of it. More noticeable over the weekend, and woken with an itchy right palm aswell.

this is when I wish I wasn’t a midwife. I know that can be a sign of obstetric cholestasis but I’ve never had it before so in my head thinking it won’t crop up in a 3rd pregnancy… surely. Why would I waste their time going in for bloods. Arghhh

buckingmad · 17/09/2023 06:58

ive never noticed a proper pattern time wise with either pregnancies but more I know what sets baby off. Usually has a good wriggle round after eating, drinking a cold drink and lying down for bed especially on my left side. The more I do during the day the more they don’t move!

Lilothblos · 17/09/2023 07:43

@Mummyme87 I’m sure you wouldn’t feel someone was wasting your time if they came in for the same thing, so I think definitely do it if you’re worried! I bet they'd rather see you and find it’s nothing than the alternative.

sashastuck · 17/09/2023 08:22

@Mummyme87 I agree with @Lilothblos! You lovely midwives always tell us that we’re never wasting your time. Go for the peace of mind x

Mummyme87 · 17/09/2023 08:50

Thanks ladies. I won’t do anything today, as it won’t actually change anything even if bloods did show early onset OC, will see how it goes and may go in tomorrow if it continues.

Luhou · 17/09/2023 08:53

@Mummyme87 I've been struggling with itching and general irritated skin all throughout pregnancy. I was the same in my last and tested, but all clear.

Mummyme87 · 17/09/2023 09:12

@Luhou ive had itching for quite a while, behind knees, boobs, under arms… probs sweat!!! One palm I thought nothing but now both, it’s probably nothing although you can have normal
bloods for a good few weeks with itching before they become abnormal, so my trust do follow
Up bloods for itching now if normal
but I think only after a certain gestation

Luhou · 17/09/2023 09:29

@Mummyme87 that's good to know. I'll keep an eye on it. Best to get tested and put your mind at rest x

RootsHere · 17/09/2023 21:25

I am 22.5 weeks now and have been feeling her for 5 weeks or so now but the movements are always very jerky.. it’s never a smooth ‘roll over’ or summersault as others have described, or even kick or a punch. It’s more like a short set of quick strong knocks, but so quick that I doubt it would be multiple separate movements. It’s almost like when you get that involuntary twitch in a muscle but in super quick sets. This will likely make no sense if you have been feeling ‘normal’ movements but I don’t remember thinking this about the last pregnancy so just not sure what to think or if I should worry 🤦‍♀️ Am I overthinking this? 😂

WitcheryDivine · 17/09/2023 23:06

This sounds mad but I feel like the baby is really active one day then hardly at all the next, it’s alternated for a couple of weeks now. I wonder if they just tire themselves out?!
