Great news @peonygirl!

Good luck with your scan @NSx, I had my 36 week scan today and baby has moved head down now after being breech/transverse for weeks. Fingers crossed for you

NSx · 03/10/2023 20:30

@Koalawhala ooooh that’s amazing, I hope mine is the same 🥹 … you’re having a section aren’t you though? X

kingfisher168 · 03/10/2023 20:34

@New2thisss @NSx out of curiosity how far along are you / did you have your sweeps in?

Is anyone else having uterine cramps that are quite mild but quite often? Don't think it's labour but it's definitely making me think 'Ohhh is this it?' all the time 😅

Ss32 · 03/10/2023 20:37

Our baby girl arrived this morning by elective section (was booked for Thursday but brought forward due to reduced movements), it actually worked really well as today is a strike day so there were only 2 of us in! I mentioned to the surgeon just in a passing comment that I’d love to see her come out so they brought a ‘window’ sheet in and I got to watch as they pulled her out, it was amazing!

peonygirl · 03/10/2023 20:37

Thank you, ladies, ❤I am so relieved, I constantly worry because I am a high-risk patient (age-related and now my body is showing it's tired - first diabetes, now hypertension).

@NSx Yes, just like @Koalawhala my baby was breech/transverse for ages. He really loved the transverse position and I worried he'll stay in that. It can complicate a section so I am happy he's moved. He's also super active and this keeps me at peace, knowing he's doing well.

peonygirl · 03/10/2023 20:41

@Ss32 Amazing! Congratulations on your little girl. I am so happy for you that you had a great experience and hope the recovery goes well for you.

What's the score of the group now - 4 boys, 2 girls?

Koalawhala · 03/10/2023 21:18

Congratulations @Ss32! Yep section planned but as @peonygirl says transverse is not ideal either way and risk of cord prolapse a worry if you go into labour naturally. My section is only 5 days before due date so could happen!

PrimarilyParented · 03/10/2023 21:28

@Ss32 congratulations! Amazing that you got to see her being born too.

we had an extra person in the room for our c-section (trainee midwife I think) who offered to take pictures. We said yes and weren’t expecting her to get some of our son being born - she got some absolutely amazing photos of him emerging that we are beyond thrilled with.

@doeandfawn we used the name we have been calling him since about 15 weeks. To be honest I am someone who just thinks that’s his name now and he will make it his own. Only a few people have complimented the name so I reckon it’s probably a marmite name (though it’s absolutely a proper name it’s just about number 600 on the name popularity lists). I don’t care though because it’s his name and we love it. I also think he will make it mean something to all of us rather than everyone having preconceived ideas of what someone with that name should look/be like as although it’s a biblical name people will have heard of they probably haven’t met (m)any people with his name.

OrionNebula · 03/10/2023 21:35

Congrats @Ss32! Two girls now Smile

doeandfawn · 03/10/2023 22:20

@Ss32 congratulations!!

Yes - they feel like period pain! Tend to happen when the baby moves. I need to stay off Google, as it talks about all sorts, but then at the bottom of lengthy articles about what it could be it says ‘it most cases it’s harmless and normal’ 🙄

Congratulations to all the mums 💐❤️

I’m 37+1 weeks so hoping my day’s not coming for a couple of weeks!

monsteramunch · 04/10/2023 04:15

Little girl has arrived via c section at 38 weeks and we are utterly in love with her. I have honestly never loved my partner more than I have done today watching him with her, I'm so glad I get to see him be a dad. He's brilliant. In a lot of pain now but my god she is worth every bit ❤️

ES1986 · 04/10/2023 04:24

Congratulations @monsteramunch 💐

Mamabear345 · 04/10/2023 05:21

Baby girl born at 7pm last night. 👶🏼💖 40+1 weeks.
had a wonderful waterbirth after a longggg labour.
initially lost most of mucus plug a week last Saturday, and had false labour all week. Then this Saturday and Sunday lost the rest of it and cramps started to come. Monday AM cramps were coming consistently but not painful, managed to go shopping with mum & out for cake and coffee. By 4pm they were coming in consistent but not getting stronger. This lasted until about 4am Tuesday morning and they all stopped.
had a community midwife apt at 9:30 Tuesday morning where she told me I was already 3-4cm dialated and gave me a sweep to help restart the contractions & move things along.
by lunch my contractions had ramped back up and we came to hospital. Only 5cm, but contractions had ramped up another notch. Got admitted to the MLU birthing unit inside a hospital, and got the pool filling. By 5pm I was still only 5-6cm, so she broke my waters.
this took things from 0-100, and I got in the pool and she was born at 7pm! 👶🏼💖

peonygirl · 04/10/2023 06:01

@Mamabear345 Congratulations! Sounds like a really nice birth experience. Long prep but very natural progression of labor.

@monsteramunch Congratulations!! So much love between the three of you, so beautiful. Enjoy your little one but do get all pain support they offer. I hope discomfort eases soon.

Two girls joined the group. Yay!!

OrionNebula · 04/10/2023 06:57

@Mamabear345 @monsteramunch congratulations! Two very different births and both sound very positive!

Hoping to get our little one home today 🤞

amibeingtouchy · 04/10/2023 08:07

katherine123x · 04/10/2023 08:18

Anyones milk come in?? Omg I'm soaking through T-shirts!!

NSx · 04/10/2023 08:28

@kingfisher168 I haven’t had a sweep, I’m 37w though?

@Koalawhala ah ok, so 5 days before, that’s not too bad! good luck, surely can’t be much longer now? When are u booked in? Your DD was around similar to mine if I remember correctly?

@peonygirl that’s good to hear, glad your baby is doing well, I hope I get good news today at my scan 🤞 and my baby has turned naturally like yours did !

@Mamabear345 @monsteramunch congratulations 🩷✨ finally some girls !! hope you’re all doing well x

SoBoredOfWaiting · 04/10/2023 08:38

@katherine123x yes me too, breast pads are your friends! It will stabilise as baby feeds and regulates your supply. You may get a bit engorged over next day or two, it passes though.
If anyone needs a night feed chat, always here!
@Mamabear345 @monsteramunch congratulations 🎉
Hope everyone so far is recovering ok and not in too much discomfort.

Ps: don't bother with swaddles if you have a Houdini child like mine- waste of £20 and got out of it in less than 3 minutes!

ttcttc · 04/10/2023 08:38

@katherine123x no but I've been thinking about this!! How far on are you?

Congratulations on the safe arrivals of your babies ladies 😘

ttcttc · 04/10/2023 08:40

@katherine123x ignore me I've realised your baby is here. One of my friends milk came in before she had her baby (she held her nephew and they leaked!) so I've been thinking about that. I need a coffee I think 👶 🧠

Koalawhala · 04/10/2023 08:45

I'm booked in for 23rd Oct so not too long really!

Congratulations @monsteramunch and @Mamabear345!

Esl17 · 04/10/2023 08:59

Lots of people having babies already - 39+4 today and no signs of anything happening at all, baby wasn’t even engaged last week, midwife won’t give me a sweep until 40 weeks. Anyone else looking like they might go overdue/thought about options after?

doeandfawn · 04/10/2023 09:07

@monsteramunch @Mamabear345 congratulations on your wee ones! ❤️❤️
