Congrats to all those with new bubs! Feeling very behind at 36+1 😂 although hoping to and happy to go naturally anytime from 37 weeks to be honest, feeling so large and uncomfortable!

FirstTimeMamaAtHalloween · 30/09/2023 10:18

Does anyone else spend ages when they have an upset stomach going ‘oh my god is this it or is this just the raspberry leaf tea/dates?!’

ttcttc · 30/09/2023 10:34

@NSx how far on are you? Does she still have time to turn?

Also - does anyone else feel like they're gonna pee themselves all the time? Can only assume it's baby moving down there 😬😬

peonygirl · 30/09/2023 10:40

@ttcttc oh boy, I am in incontinence pants for a week now - I really feel the pregnancy "sexy" side 😂I highly recommend them for post-partum, it is easy to wear without too much mess. My baby is kicking all the time so I feel like I need to go every 10 min. I also have issues with sneezing/coughing so pants it is.

NSx · 30/09/2023 10:50

@ttcttc so I’m 36+3 so not an awful lot of time to turn, I have a scan booked at 37 weeks to check the position which is Wed - I don’t think they will turn themselves if they haven’t done so by Wednesday tbh 😭😭😭… so would be offered a ECV to see if they can move the baby.
If not it would be a section 🥲….
I am so frustrated as baby has been head down at every midwife appt for the last 6 weeks 🫠

ttcttc · 30/09/2023 10:58

@NSx well fingers crossed for you!

I'm 37 week today and baby has been head down since private scan at 27/28 week and at every midwife app but i could be like you and baby could turn. I was 3/5 engaged at 35 week and 2/5 on Thursday so obviously is still in and out and moving around!!

ttcttc · 30/09/2023 10:59

@peonygirl oh dear I think you've got it worse than me lol but i suppose that's maybe because I haven't been coughing and sneezing lol! Touch wood! It's the pressure for me I think. I also feel like I need to poo (tmi I know sorry!) but I don't 🤦🏼‍♀️

NSx · 30/09/2023 11:05

@ttcttc thank you 🤞🤍✨ I am hoping they are head down by Wed, let’s see. I don’t really know how much space they have in there. My bump is bang on 50th centile, so average, but everyone says I’m neat, but obviously don’t know how big the baby is inside!
so happy that your baby is playing ball! X

OrionNebula · 30/09/2023 11:07

Congratulations @katherine123x you had a boy too right?

@NSx I'll be having my section at 39+1 on Monday. Like you it's not what I planned but baby is breech and not budging so it's the safest way to get her here. I've made my peace with it now.

Koalawhala · 30/09/2023 11:10

Mine seemed to move head down earlier this week, after being transverse/breech for a few weeks. I'm 36 weeks today, will hopefully have that confirmed at a scan on Tuesday. It feels very low and uncomfortable now.

I'm in your boat @peonygirl. The usual coughing/sneezing doesn't seem to cause it though, just random times so assume it's baby moving and squashing the bladder?!

NSx · 30/09/2023 11:15

@OrionNebula oh I’m sorry you’re in the same boat as me. How long has your baby been breech for? I feel like I was led into a false sense of security because baby was head down for the last 6 weeks, it didn’t even cross my mind that they would want to change last minute 😂😂
did they give you a choice of dates?
I am wondering if 39+5 is too late, I’m trying to come to terms with what may be a possibility for me and this particular date has sentimental value to me atleast. Every cloud ⛅️ x

OrionNebula · 30/09/2023 11:25

@NSx she's been breech for a while, she's obviously very comfy like that Smile but if yours has been head down all the way so far hopefully they will still turn or the ECV Will have a better chance of working if you decide to go for that.

They didn't offer me a choice of date but I'm in Ireland not UK so might be different where you are.

NSx · 30/09/2023 11:34

@OrionNebula ahh ok!
I guess will know more by Wednesday, the days will drag!
glad you and baby are ok though and you’ve got a plan in place 🤍✨

PrimarilyParented · 30/09/2023 11:43

Thank you everyone who sent congratulations and good luck to all of you still waiting. I know it is a very long wait thinking it could be any day now for up to a month, but I really would recommend getting things ready early. After my “Braxton hicks” on Tuesday night that were actually early Labour, I panicked and spent Wednesday putting the crib together and generally sorting out our room ready for the baby. During Labour on Wednesday me and partner even went shopping for the gifts for the other kids from the new baby. Sounds mad but it’s true and I wanted to be walking around so it suited me, but might not suit everyone to be that last minute 😂

Esl17 · 30/09/2023 11:46

@New2thisss also 39 weeks today but my trust don’t offer sweeps until your due date so I can have one at my 40 week appt next Saturday if I want (and get that far) - can you let me know how it goes? Xx

New2thisss · 30/09/2023 12:02

@Esl17 absolutely fine! Midwives do a good feel of baby and then it’s pretty much like a smear test. It was uncomfortable but just breathe through it. The only bit that got me wincing was when they stretch the cervix 😮‍💨 been told I’m looking really good for 39 weeks so here’s hopeful it works! 🤞🏻x

Esl17 · 30/09/2023 12:15

@New2thisss ahh that’s reassuring thanks for letting me know :) fingers crossed for you, although I do not feel ready yet so I’m hoping my baby can stay in for another week 🙈

OrionNebula · 30/09/2023 13:36

@NSx thank you, best of luck to you too!

GemmaJen · 30/09/2023 19:40

Braxton hicks question, I'm not booked in for a section for another 2 and a half weeks... Have anybodies braxton hicks ramped up? They're getting really uncomfortable and this afternoon/evening just keep coming for a minute or so at a time. I doubt they're real contractions, but starting to feel unsure. I'd heard that subsequent pregnancies the BHs can be more intense? This is my second pregnancy, I don't remember anything like this with my daughter.

doeandfawn · 30/09/2023 20:56

@GemmaJen have you been timing them? Worth keeping an eye on if they’re consistent.

Flying12 · 30/09/2023 21:41

Our baby boy arrived on Thursday 💙 didn’t know what we were having but we were always convinced he was a boy. On day 2 of c section recovery so hoping it gets better soon

peonygirl · 30/09/2023 21:53

@Flying12 Congratulations!! Another boy for our group :)

I hope the recovery is better with each passing day. Do insist on pain medication if needed, don't suffer with paracetamol/ibuprofen only if it is too much.

monsteramunch · 30/09/2023 21:55

Amazing news @Flying12 massive congrats! Really hope your recovery goes well Flowers

peonygirl · 30/09/2023 21:55

@GemmaJen Braxton Hicks should not be painful, they are tightening on the belly but if you feel painful contractions and they are regular, then those will be the real ones.

OrionNebula · 30/09/2023 21:57

Congrats @Flying12 ! So many boys, where's all the other girls at? 😂
