@HRSC I'm with you on feeling impatient. I'm sure I'll regret saying this but I actually can't wait to feel those first contractions!! I've had nothing so far. And a wax at this stage sounds awful, for both you and the waxing lady! 😂

BCxx · 19/08/2023 19:29

Thanks all 💕

Hope anyone still waiting doesn’t have too much longer to hang on! The first 24 hours of having two has been full on 😂 Recovery hasn’t been too bad but bleeding seems to have got worse today and it just making me feel totally drained. I remember this from last time though and after the first few days I was okay again. How’s everyone else’s recovery going?

Owlgirl14 · 19/08/2023 23:39

@HRSC Still waiting too, 39+3 today and no signs at all.

Feel like pregnancy has flown by but seeing everyone else post their babies is making me excited and wanting her to come.

HRSC · 20/08/2023 08:33

@sommeliermama Same - I’m sure when the contractions start properly it’ll be a different story but just can’t wait to meet the little nugget!
Haha yes the wax was definitely not fun, Not really worth it. Have a facial booked for next week, hopefully that will be less traumatic!
@Owlgirl14 yes seeing everyone else have their babies has made me so excited too! That, and everyone I know has been telling me that they think my baby will be early and I looked ‘ready to pop’ (….all with their years of medical knowledge…🙄) think it’s got into my head too much

Owlgirl14 · 20/08/2023 23:28

@HRSC Along with all the messages asking if there is any news yet 🙄

chickpea1982 · 21/08/2023 10:09

I'm still waiting too. I'm booked in to be induced on Friday, so expecting her to arrive over the bank holiday weekend.

It's probably an odd thing to say, but I feel like I've been pregnant so long I've just got used to it, and it's going to be a massive shock to find a tiny human come out of me!

BCxx · 21/08/2023 11:21

@chickpea1982 good luck! 😊 That’s how I felt last time, I went in and didn’t even feel like I was ready for him to come out! This time I couldn’t get in there quick enough but it’s amazing how weirdly sad you feel about not feeling them kick anymore, especially since I’m now realising I will probably never have another baby kicking inside me again. A very odd feeling!

HRSC · 21/08/2023 13:01

@Owlgirl14 exactly! The worst are the ones who haven’t spoken to you for months! Am I too harsh or just hot and bothered and too pregnant now?!

@chickpea1982 oh so exciting!! Good luck and hope it all goes well! Are you doing anything this week to prepare or making time for yourself? I know what you mean about feeling like you’ve been pregnant forever 😅 though I am looking forward to not feeling like I’m squishing the baby when I sleep. Always terrifies me that I’ve crushed her!

Daisy155 · 21/08/2023 17:21

Ladies I have just had my last growth scan and consultant appointment, I have literal butterflies in my stomach with excitement and I am a bit nervous.

I am having a 3rd c section and I was so happy they finally decided not to cut me from the belly button down but it's now the bikini line like the other 2 last c sections.

The other cut apparently would have taken me longer to heal and I have my son and also the baby to take care of so I am happy they are choosing the bikini line instead so I can heal a lot quicker.

Also baby is no longer measuring big, it was a mistake from the last growth scan because it was a trainee who did the last one.

I can't believe I am giving birth on Wednesday. It's our last baby as I have been told I have adhesions that will complicate things if I ever get pregnant again, and that this is going to be a difficult surgery but I am positive everything will go well. The consultant was very reassuring that they will do everything to make sure that both baby and myself will come out of this surgery safely this time around! They are more prepared this time and have extra hands on the day!

Paintandpots · 21/08/2023 23:38

@Daisy155 glad you have had good news in regards to your delivery to be on Wednesday. Now just ready as much as possible before your delivery day. No need to do housework, odd jobs or anything else tomorrow except about time with you're other child.

BCxx · 22/08/2023 01:49

@Daisy155 good luck for Wednesday, I’m sure you won’t need it! Good news about not needing the vertical incision too. Enjoy your last ever day of being pregnant 😊

HRSC · 23/08/2023 17:55

Hope everything has/is going well @Daisy155 ! 🤞
Just come back from my doctors appointment and have my induction booked for Saturday morning 8am. I’m so excited and I just can’t wait to meet my little peanut!! 💖💖

BCxx · 23/08/2023 21:34

Exciting @HRSC enjoy your last couple of days before baby arrives! 😌

sommeliermama · 23/08/2023 22:21

@HRSC that's so exciting! Just a couple of days left for you - try to enjoy every minute ❤

Owlgirl14 · 23/08/2023 23:32

@HRSC Ooh exciting, hope it all goes well. It's my due date today but no signs yet. Hoping to avoid induction and go naturally, have a growth scan tomorrow so will see what they say.

sommeliermama · 25/08/2023 17:49

@Owlgirl14 any progress? How did your growth scan go? Feel like there's just a few of us left and there's a few booked in this weekend - very exciting!

I had my 41 week appointment today and midwife attempted a sweep but my cervix was completely closed. 0cm 😑so I have another one booked for Monday morning. This baby is really kicking her heels in and making me wait! Still not feeling any labour signs

Owlgirl14 · 25/08/2023 23:13

@sommeliermama Growth scan showed a decrease in abdominal growth so they recommended induction. Reluctantly accepted for Saturday. Feeling nervous but excited.

Still no signs at all of labour so probably the best thing. I asked for a sweep which they couldn't do as like you my cervix is completely closed so we have another little madam 😂

chickpea1982 · 26/08/2023 07:46

Good luck to those being induced this weekend! I went in for my induction yesterday afternoon, so am now about 16 hours in. My hospital trust has just started using these little needle like things called dilapan as the first line in inductions - they stick them in your cervix and then wait 12 hours for them to expand. It was a bit painful but not too bad. Next up it will be the prograstin (?) tablet.

All in all its been fine so far - I get to sit in bed reading a book and people bring me food, no kids or housework to worry about. It's like a little holiday! (Apart from being woken up 3 times in the night for various readings...).

LS888 · 26/08/2023 10:58

Good luck to all those being induced/having babies this weekend. Can’t be many more babies to come now xx

BCxx · 26/08/2023 14:20

@chickpea1982 hope things move quickly for you and you can enjoy the rest of your ‘holiday’ with a sleepy newborn 😆

Recoba · 26/08/2023 18:47

Well, baby arrived yesterday afternoon, 2 hours after we got sent home from the MLU for labour taking too long. We'd been there since the previous evening, change of shift midwife didn't believe previous midwife's examination of me as 8cm, decided I was 4-6cm instead and so said I wasn't in established labour and to come back when my contractions ramped up. They never did and continued to be every 3-5 minutes until my waters went. DH delivered the baby on the floor in the bathroom, as I needed to push as soon as my waters broke. The whole thing took about fifteen minutes. Very proud of myself and husband, and everyone well, but pretty angry about how it was all handled, particularly as there were some additional risk factors for not wanting a home birth (let alone an unassisted home birth).

Hope everyone's inductions go well and you all meet your babies soon!

LS888 · 26/08/2023 18:59

@Recoba wowwhat a delivery story! Hope you are ok. Well done for dealing with it by yourselves so well. I’m sure many people wouldn’t have. Did midwives come out afterwards?

BCxx · 26/08/2023 19:01

@Recoba oh my goodness! No wonder you are annoyed at that, very lucky everything turned out okay in the end. Congratulations!

Rowanandremy · 26/08/2023 20:04

@Recoba congratulations! What a story to tell your little one when they are older but no wonder you are far from pleased with how things were handled. Hope you, baby and your husband are ok and that you are getting to enjoy lots of newborn cuddles.

Good luck to everyone who has plans for a c section or induction in the coming days.

@chickpea1982 i hope you aren’t waiting too long and that whatever waiting you’ve got is pain free so you can enjoy it!

HRSC · 26/08/2023 20:18

My little girl was born this afternoon at 4pm after a 7hr labour (and 1hr before my doctor had predicted!) Induction worked like a charm and we are completely and utterly besotted with her! Having a go with breastfeeding and she seems more or less ok although sometimes shallow latching which is quite painful but we’re doing alright for only being 4hrs into the journey! She’s a big girl at 3,6kg (8lb9) and 51,5cm taking after her very tall father!

Hope you are doing ok @Owlgirl14 - thinking of you.

Wow, what a story @Recoba ! Superwoman giving birth unassisted! Hope you’re doing ok now
