Thread 9! I wonder if this will be the one most babies are born in - can't wait to hear all the happy announcements 😁

I'm really sorry if I've missed anyone, I've done my best. Do give me a shout if I've missed you or have your info wrong (apologies if so!), and I'll make a note.

31+3 today, waiting to get till 36weeks so I can sign off from work!! These 4 weeks will be very stressful and longest way!!😞

sommeliermama · 28/06/2023 08:26

Thank you @DesertSnow for the new thread. Yes it's crazy to think this could be the one where most of the babies are born! Time seems to be moving quicker now somehow.

So nice to see you post @AnnieApple123, we all still think of you so much. Sending you lots of love ❤

sommeliermama · 28/06/2023 08:30

Today is my first official day of maternity leave, which is quite early at almost 33 weeks but I'm so glad I've taken it now! Dealing with pain everywhere over the past few weeks: sore back, ribs, shoulder, collarbone, tailbone, pubic bone. It's not fun!! Trying to do my best with getting lots of rest but still little bits of exercise when I feel up for it.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 28/06/2023 09:15

So nice to hear from you @AnnieApple123, I hope you are doing okay ♥️

BCxx · 28/06/2023 12:58

@sommeliermama thats good you’ll have some time to get organised and have a bit of a rest before baby. I’ve been fine the whole way through but now getting a sciatica type pain from my tail when I walk sometimes, it’s like I need to twist and crack my hips or something but no matter how hard I try I can’t do it with a baby in the way 🙈

tail bone even 🤣

overwork · 28/06/2023 13:06

@BCxx I quite like that typo

BCxx · 28/06/2023 13:23

@overwork should have just left it 🤷🏻‍♀️

sommeliermama · 28/06/2023 14:05

@BCxx yes the sciatica is horrible! I feel like my whole torso and hips area is stacked up all wrong at the minute.

I loved the tail typo also

DesertSnow · 28/06/2023 21:03

So lovely to hear from you @AnnieApple123 , I think of you often. Sending love. I wasn't sure whether or not to tag you in the thread as I didn't want to cause pain either way - but I'm so glad you found us to say hello.

I noticed when doing the thread that there are quite a few names that haven't popped up on the thread in a while, I hope you're all doing well.

@BCxx laughing at tail 😆

I've finally started packing my hospital bag and realised I only have one thing that I had considered wearing during labour (if I get to labour, of course). Is one thing (old t-shirt) enough? I'm imagining given the time of year it labour would be a particularly sweaty ordeal and am now thinking maybe I need a back up. Though if very hot, I guess I could always just labour in bra... Do they give you a hospital gown?

Sorry, question for all who have any knowledge of this: is the Next yo Me or Snuzpod better or does anyone know anything about a similar bedside cot thing that rocks?*I have found previously that rocking was only thing that would put my 2nd baby asleep, and really helped with 1st; so wondering if any of those bedside crib/cots rick and even better if they are self rocking...
I'm now trying to get organised!(';)

BCxx · 29/06/2023 00:16

@BMK snuzpod does rock a little bit but as we had it on carpet that obviously didn’t work! We used to need to rock the Moses basket a bit to get him to start going off to sleep but for some reason didn’t need to in the snuzpod. I do slightly think at times the more you rock them from early on, the more you need to rock them so you end up just going round in circles with it and giving yourself more work. It does just get to the desperate stage though and you’ll do whatever it takes 🙈 I have seen self rocking ones online though

Paintandpots · 29/06/2023 04:22

@DesertSnow I was wondering the same thing too, i imagine it will be roasting in the hospital this season...i might put in one long loose tunic dress in the middle of July that I'm currently wearing during the daytime. It's not very stylish but I'm so big and uncomfortable i don't really care.

Amme18 · 29/06/2023 07:11

I gave birth in a heatwave last time 😅😅 I wore a vest too but actually found the birth room itself to be a good temp! It was more the pre birth induction room and pacing the hospital grounds that was sweltering!

I think I’m going to sign off for a week, I’m seriously struggling with fatigue/pain in my lower back and hips. I’ve been struggling for so long and feel like I’ve “powered through” for ages! Feel a bit of a wimp calling in for one last week but the relief when I made the decision was unreal!

Marmaladebear · 29/06/2023 08:36

@bmk halo next to me has a vibration setting but don't know how good it is - bought one but not built it yet! I think they're 20% off right now too. I had a snuzpod last time and you can rock it but it didn't rock that easily (maybe because we have carpet)

Marmaladebear · 29/06/2023 08:39

@Amme18 well done prioritising your health! Sounds like you've made the right decision, definitely not a wimp!!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 29/06/2023 09:14

I have my birthing choice appointment yesterday.

For anybody who is still due to have one, mine was fine. The midwife consultant didn't put pressure on me either way and (to my surprise) provided me with all the pros and cons for both a c-section and vaginal delivery.

They didn't provide a date for the c-section yet, they said that I will now have to see another consultant and they will book me in during that appointment 😊

BoodifulGoose · 29/06/2023 22:28

Hi all 💙 Sorry not been around having a bit of a rough time but been lurking catching up still!

If there's any Scottish mums, a few of us from the FB group have arranged a lunch in Falkirk on Sat 15th July, at 12:30.

If there's anyone not on the FB chat that would like to come let me know and we'll add you to the booking :)

Alpacabag22 · 30/06/2023 08:45

@BMK I just ordered the babymore air glider crib after much googling and dithering about all the options. Saw it in a shop amd was impressed by how smooth the motion was. It's more of a horizontal back and forth than an up and down rock if that makes sense. It says baby's movements can activate the motion but we'll see - you can also lock in place to stop motion completely. No idea if baby will like it of course!

Alpacabag22 · 30/06/2023 08:49

Thanks for making a new thread @DesertSnow! Can't believe we're in third trimester now! Hope everyone is doing ok, keeping cool, and managing to get some rest 💗

BMK · 30/06/2023 09:50

Thank you so much @Alpacabag22 @Amme18 and @BCxx and yes I agree that rocking initially can create its own dependency!!*I fell into that trap before and definitely going to try avoid it this time, nonetheless will check out these motion cars incl Alpacabag's recent discovery that I've never heard of!!

LS888 · 30/06/2023 14:05

Thanks for the new thread @DesertSnow ☺️

I’m on my first day of Mat leave today too. Haven’t done too much to be honest. Finished a book, did a bit of knitting on a blanket I’m making for the baby that I started months ago (and hopefully I will finish soon 🤞🏻). Just been for a swim but it ended up being quite busy and annoying as I had heartburn so had to keep stopping. But so nice to be finished! Going out for tea tonight with hubby for a monthly date night and looking forward to that ☺️

We are also planning a north west area meet up in Chester on 19th July (time and location to be confirmed). If anyone else is interested xx

DesertSnow · 30/06/2023 15:03

@Paintandpots ha, I'm definitely not going for stylish! As cool and comfortable as possible will do me. Keep seeing that there's a two-week predicted heatwave for the end of July 😬

@Amme18 ah good to know about your experience, thank you! Well done for signing off, definitely sounds like the right decision. Hope you get some rest.

@MinnieFirstTimeMum ah feels so real we're getting to these kind of midwife appointments! Glad they didn't try to pressure you.

@BoodifulGoose Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time, hope you're doing ok and looking after yourself.

I've just been to my hospital appointment 36 weeks and the scan was okay all my bloods and urine okay but they said that the baby's growth has slowed down and I have to go back in 2 weeks, I have been stressed and not sleeping well these last 2 weeks I feel it's my fault and I'm feeling upset and worried x
