Thanks for new thread :)
Hows everyone’s symptoms. I’ve had that nauseous feeling for 2 weeks now, thankfully haven’t been physically sick and I know I shouldn’t complain, but it’s that sickly feeling in my tummy, along with constant hunger, headaches, bloat…all day, everyday😩! Hate wishing time away but god I can’t wait to get the next few weeks over with 😩

Hello all! I just wondered if you have any advice on how many early scans are appropriate before NHS 12 week scan? I had IVF and had an early scan at 7 weeks confirming twins. Just had another 9 week scan confirming all is ok - I’ve been super anxious! My NHS scan isn’t until week 13 and I have 4 weeks to wait! Is it safe to go for another scan at perhaps week 10? I’m worried too many ultrasounds could do harm. Or should I just try to relax and wait for NHS? I’m driving myself crazy with needing constant reassurance! Anyone else feel the same or have some advice? x

Mldn · 16/04/2023 09:21

@Stillhoping1990 i had a private scan 7+1 & and EPU scan at 8+1. I have another scan this Wednesday, I’ll be 11+3 & the. My 12 week is best week at 12+4.

I haven’t read any evidence at all that numerous scans can harm the baby. They seem to only suggest them less frequently due to there not being much difference in growth.. has anybody else read anything suggesting too many ultrasounds harm baby?

Stillhoping1990 · 16/04/2023 09:41

@Mldn thank you for your reply. Are you getting the early scans for peace of mind?
I hadn’t considered the ultrasounds to be harmful until a lady in my IVF forum said her clinic advised her against doing too many early scans - apparently they said it’s harmful. So this made me worry.
I wish my NHS scan was actually on week 12 ahhhh.
