Morning all, I'm 11 weeks today, just had my bloods taken for the NHS screening tests and have my 12 week scan next week. Feeling very nervous and keeping everything crossed that all will be ok. Been feeling very nauseous and tired for the last 6 weeks so looking forward to hopefully feeling better soon!

Mldn · 18/04/2023 10:22

I have a scan tomorrow at 11+3. So nervous. I haven’t had one since 8+1 & absolutely convinced of the worse. I’ve had no symptoms other than slightly tender nipples & complete tiredness since about 7weeks, so assume that is “normal” for me, as baby was there with a heartbeat at 8+1. But yes, very nervous for tomorrow x

Travellingislife · 18/04/2023 10:54

@Mldn I’ve got a scan tomorrow too! Very nervous 😞 I’m still feeling nauseous and tired but I know it doesn’t mean everything is well. I feel pregnant and at the same time I don’t! I just want to know everything will be ok. Hope we both get good news tomorrow 🙏🏼

Travellingislife · 18/04/2023 10:56

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 yeah I’m 41 so I’m having it done because of my age. Hopefully all is well, I’m so nervous!

Mldn · 18/04/2023 10:57

@Travellingislife oh have you - we must be very similar dates tomorrow all being well.
i just feel shattered, had that one bit of blood last week, which was seriously minimal I feel stupid even mentioning it! But otherwise, feeling “okay”. I don’t feel pregnant. Fingers crossed for us both tomorrow! Mines at midday, what time is yours?

Travellingislife · 18/04/2023 11:00

@Mldn I’m 11+1 I think! It’s my NIPT tomorrow which comes with a scan and then I’ve just got my NHS scan date which will be next week and then I’ll have my bloods taken too. I spoke to several midwives about them not taking my bloods at my booking appointment but they don’t seem bothered about it..
Mine is at 2pm, time is dragging and I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight 😞

Mldn · 18/04/2023 11:04

@Travellingislife i think I’ll be 11+3 tomorrow. This end of things is starting to feel very real. The odds are in our favour, so fingers crossed we have positive scans tomorrow & then hopefully our anxiety will subside hugely! God, so bloody nervous 😩 my NHS 12 week is also next week, on Thursday, when I’ll hopefully be 12+5! I’ll be with you on that sleepless night tonight x

Travellingislife · 18/04/2023 11:07

@Mldn I always try and think the statistics are on our side, it does help for a moment 😅

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 18/04/2023 11:30

Hope all your scans go well! For those getting a NIPT do you mind me asking which one and how much they are? I've seen so much variability from £300 up to almost £1000 😱

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 18/04/2023 11:46

@Travellingislife good luck! I am 36 but have read it's recommended for over 35 so decided to have it this time. I had my previous DC at 33 and I didn't have the NIPT test then.

I am 8 + 2 today and have booked my NIPT for 10th of May. Booking in appointment is today. When I had DC1 the bloods were taken at the same time as 12 week scan so not expecting them to do that today unless things have changed in the last few years. Hoping that in about 7 to 10 days I will get a later with the date for my 12 week scan x

Spareincoming · 18/04/2023 11:47

@FlyingHighFlyingLow mine was £400
but the sample failed; the re sample is included in the initial payment.

38andtrying · 18/04/2023 11:59

I would like to get NIPT, but i dont think its possible for accurate results when one twin dies, vanishing twin, hoping doctors can recommend something else to put my mind at ease if all goes well with my next scan

Mldn · 18/04/2023 15:59

@Travellingislife ha yeh, it helps for a very brief moment! Today has been so difficult. I’m so anxious & so nervous. Can’t sit still! I tried going for a run & my HR was sky high from the off & I felt dreadful even though I was going way sower than usual. I have spent the day trying to stay off google. Hopefully this time tomorrow will be feeling much better x

Travellingislife · 18/04/2023 18:28

@FlyingHighFlyingLow mine is 600 and a scan is included, it’s called the harmony test.

@Mldn I was going for a run this am too and it turned out to be a wog ( walk/ jog 😅) I always try and do something exercise wise but it might just be some stretching or walking depending on how I feel!
I’ll do some breathing exercises/ meditation before bed and hope it helps with my sleep. Tomorrow can’t come around fast enough!

Travellingislife · 18/04/2023 18:31

@Mldn my HR shoots up too, when I’m jogging super slow it can be up at 175, I don’t feel like it’s that high but I can’t go faster either. It’s really strange!

Mldn · 18/04/2023 18:32

@Travellingislife that’s usually how it turns out for me, but still - better than nothing! Yeh today I struggled bad & I was running super slow. Shall be thinking of you tomoz 🤞🏼

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 18/04/2023 18:43

@Travellingislife good luck for tomorrow x

Blondie1024 · 18/04/2023 18:48

I went swimming today for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. Felt good to be back

FfoxRedN · 18/04/2023 19:06

I'm a little late to this thread. I am actually on the Dec thread because I haven't been brave enough to work out my EDD (previous losses).
I've just noticed @38andtrying that you have lost a twin? I found out at my scan yesterday (8w1d) that I've lost one of mine too.
Just a quick one to say I'm going through the same and I truly hope baby a is doing well. X

FfoxRedN · 18/04/2023 19:15

Apologies that message was a bit odd 🫣. I hope it's ok to join, I'll lurk in the background probably for a couple more weeks but wishing you all well and hope I'll be here for the long haul! Xx

38andtrying · 18/04/2023 19:17

@FfoxRedN sorry to hear, its so bittersweet isn't it. I have another scan on Friday to see how things are moving along. Hoping our two baby a's thrive from here x

FfoxRedN · 18/04/2023 19:24

@38andtrying I have everything crossed for you for Friday xx

medicmumma · 18/04/2023 20:08

10 weeks and the nausea and vomiting has really ramped up this week

CherryK87 · 18/04/2023 21:56

Hi all,

New here and I'm 10 + 3 in my first pregnancy, due 11/11/23.

Definitely experiencing anxiety as my wife and I have been on our fertility journey for over 2 years now, although this was our first IVF attempt and it was successful. I am carrying my wife's embryo.

Have been very sick so far and have the most tender and painful breasts, although I am happy to have these symptoms as when they do subside a little, I get anxious that something could be wrong.

Have booked a private scan for this Thursday and then my next NHS one is 12+5. We had an early scan at 7+5 and all was well and seeing the little flickering heartbeat was incredible.

I just find it's a very anxiety inducing time. Although I wouldn't wish the anxiety for anyone, it's nice to see that others are in the same boat and that I'm not alone!

Looking forward to reading all the updates for everyone. X

Psqueak87 · 19/04/2023 02:38

@medicmumma I am currently 11+3, had nausea since about 6 weeks, but ever since week 10 I haven’t kept an entire meal down. So sick of feeling weak. I’ve been in bed 22 hours today, have been off work sick all week but agreed to a midnight shift tonight and hugely regretting my decision. Feel like I could throw up again at any moment.
