I really feel for all of you with bad nausea and throwing up, I felt awful from week 5+3, I never threw up but I probably should have as it might’ve made me feel better. All I wanted to do was to sleep or not move from the sofa. At just over 8 weeks I tried acupuncture and it helped massively, right after the appointment it was completely gone and then it was milder the following weeks.
I know it doesn’t help everyone but it might be worth trying if you don’t want conventional meds. If acupuncture hadn’t helped me I would tried meds as it was truly awful feeling like that.

Travellingislife · 19/04/2023 06:06

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 thank you! Hope you get good news in May! The first trimester just feels like a long wait doesn’t it. I’ve got my NHS 12 week scan next week and I hope they’ll take bloods then as it’s not been done yet.

Thack · 19/04/2023 06:53

Hi ladies, I hope all the scans go well this week.
I've been keeping my head down about this whole pregnancy. I just don't want to talk about it, I want to be me a bit longer, if that makes sense?

Glad you're all here for support, I'll try to pop in a bit more 💐

Bear94 · 19/04/2023 07:40

Hi everyone! I'm 10+6 and have only now felt brave enough to join Mumsnet, I've been so terrified of having a miscarriage I was nervous to start engaging with others going through this wonderful (but terrifying!) journey, but I finally feel ok to. My nausea has been awful but I found it gave me a lot of reassurance, but the last few days it's been easing off which scared me - reading the posts in this thread has really reassured me so thank you everyone! I'm due 9th November (which was my mum's due date with me) and I'm so happy and grateful to be sharing this journey with all of you!

TMI2000 · 19/04/2023 08:16

Good luck to the scans today! @Mldn and @Travellingislife , fingers are crossed for you both ❤️

Mldn · 19/04/2023 08:17

@TMI2000 oh thank you so much! I am incredibly nervous 😩 x

Travellingislife · 19/04/2023 08:21

@TMI2000 thank you! I’m super nervous! Not long now @Mldn 😊 I’ll be thinking of you!

vix_85 · 19/04/2023 08:42

Good luck to those having scans today!

I feel like some symptoms have really calmed down which is freaking freaking me out. I know others have been through it as well so I'm seeking some reassurance. I'm 8+4 and managed a shower this morning without feeling sick, and my boobs are definitely less sore. After 4 MC, I don't know how to feel about it.

@vix_85 thank you! My symptoms completely went at 7 weeks. I had a scan at 8 & all was well. I’m now 11+3 & still been pretty symptomless, other than very tired & slightly tender nipples but nothing like before 7 weeks!

vix_85 · 19/04/2023 08:52

Thank you @Mldn that is good to know. It is such a whirlwind this whole pregnancy merlarkey isn't it!

Mldn · 19/04/2023 08:56

@vix_85 yes it is! So incredibly unenjoyable. At the 8 week scan I had, the sonographer at EPU told me not to freak out about being symptomless unless I bleed or have bad cramping. And I’ve had neither, except a very, very tiny bit of blood in my underwear once. So I am hoping all is well, will find out at midday 🤞🏼x

MeganC104 · 19/04/2023 08:56

Does anyone get sharp pains or aches in their pelvis occasionally? I was kneeling down this morning and then stood up. Got a really sharp pain right side that lasted five minutes. 12 +1

Spareincoming · 19/04/2023 09:59

@MeganC104 yes! And my c-section scar is achey on one side after the stabby pelvis pain!
Such joys!

LilmissCa · 19/04/2023 10:01

Good luck for scans today!!

Mldn · 19/04/2023 10:20

Thanks love @Travellingislife, I feel sick with anxiety. Likewise, you’re in my thoughts! Hopefully a good day for us both x

38andtrying · 19/04/2023 10:59

Good luck @Mldn and @Travellingislife

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 19/04/2023 11:08

@Travellingislife @Mldn wishing you both the best of luck for today!!

Mldn · 19/04/2023 12:36

Thank you all so much for the well wishes! OMG the relief 😩 baby is measuring 11+3 & doing somersaults & heart eating at 168bpm. I guess I am just a lucky one with minimal symptoms. I don’t usually cry, but I burst into tears when she said baby is there still 🤍

@CherryK87 @Bear94 welcome and congratulations!

@mldn that's lovely! Bit jealous of your no symptoms whilst I desperately eat salt and vinegar snacks in an attempt not to throw up 🤣 but so glad you're reassured. This week is going quite fast my scan is on Friday!

Skyla01 · 19/04/2023 12:45

Congratulations @Mldn , a big relief for you.

I have very few symptoms now. Just waiting for 12 week scan (2 weeks to go). A bit in limbo just now, not telling people and trying not to think too much about an actual baby until I know scan is ok. Not long to wait.

Mldn · 19/04/2023 12:46

@MooseWL haha, I suffered for maybe two weeks leading up to 7/8 weeks and the. It all stopped! I’m exhausted and that’s no fun, and I’m struggling with any exercise etc - that is the only differences I notice now. I very grateful I am not being sick etc. You defo have my sympathy!

Best if luck for Friday, is it your 12 week? Mines next Thursday x

vix_85 · 19/04/2023 12:48

Congratulations @Mldn what a great relief and picture!

@Skyla01 thank you so much! Yes, huge relief. We are yet to tell anybody. My family are down this weekend so I’ll tell my Mum, and then we are seeing my bfs family next weekend, so will tell his parents then! Then we are on holiday for a few weeks, so will hold off telling extended family & friends until we are back and have hopefully had our combined results back. We will be 16 weeks or so by then x

@vix_85 thanks so much!! Super relieved xx

MooseWL · 19/04/2023 12:53

@Mldn to be fair since 10 weeks I've been throwing up a lot less only 1/2 times a day now so better than it was. Still really nauseous though and driving is a nightmare makes me feel so sick.

Yep it's my 12 week scan. I had a private one at 9 weeks so really looking forwards to seeing more of a baby rather than a blob 😅 that's good you've not got long to wait!

LilmissCa · 19/04/2023 13:50

@Mldn congrats!! Such a relief!

I've just given in & booked private scan for Saturday will be 9w6d. Haven't got date for 12wk scan yet and it's driving me insane. Not as sick as I was but now eating non stop. I was so sick with my daughter so worrying the sickness gone is a bad sign.
