So my restful bank holiday weekend has been turned upside down! Looks like the latest completion data for the house will be the 29th 😬i have so many Client meetings to fit in as I'm relocating 3 hours away and moving to managing them entirely remotely and packing and organising to do I'm drowning already 😀

Spiralout · 06/04/2023 15:06

@DesertSnow agree with just sizing up in some places for clothes, although can look a little less ‘tailored’ albeit very comfy! M&S have some great high waisted, wide elastic waist band trousers which I am living in at the moment!

overwork · 06/04/2023 15:27

@Spiralout can you by any chance share a link those trousers? My work trousers are cutting me in two and I've had 2 unsuccessful shopping trips now (shopping is not my forte!).

BMK · 07/04/2023 07:21

Helloo @AnnieApple123 also just to say thinking of you and hope all OK; I assume you didn't chance going on holidays so I hope you're just taking the time out and nothing is wrong. Really really sending love,we all are.
It's such a lovely morning here: I just dropped our Au Pair to airport, strange to say goodbye to someone who semi turns into part of the family!
@sally16 thank you so very much re holiday info/positivity!*I'm not far off booking a villa in Italy in mid September (decided not to do August as too soon!) and already excited. Not sure about the alcohol not going directly into bmilk: am fairly sure it does: I think both last for at least 4 hours, so after 4 hours you can kind of feed or just 'pump and dump' the first batch around then, as my cousin says! I have gone off cigarettes for pregnancy but will absolutely be dying to smoke with wine on hols!

I have now accepted that it's no longer possible to hide pregnancy/bump. Think it hasn't really been possible for at least the last week, but that's not bad given 23 weeks today and 3rd pregnancy. It's particularly hard to make look less noticeable in good weather where the trustee lagging jacket coat, jumpers and dark colours etc no longer have much of a place!

BCxx · 07/04/2023 07:43

@AnnieApple123 sending love.. hope all is still going in the right direction 🤞🏼 But don’t feel the need to update us if you just need a break just now

Amme18 · 07/04/2023 08:32

@BMK my sister is a neonatal nurse and the breastfeeding specialist on the ward…she says it’s like a shot in a swimming pool for how much goes into breast milk…but I guess it depends how much you’re drinking 🤣 but she has always said to me as long as you’re safe to hold baby you are safe to feed. After a bottomless brunch I once pumped when I got home (too drunk to hold but boobs too full!) and the milk was luminous! 😅 safe to say I dumped it.

sally16 · 07/04/2023 08:38

@BMK I think advice differs but breastfeeding support said theres no need to pump and dump anymore :) but obviously it doesn't hurt to do if it puts your mind at rest 🥰
I actually love a cocktail and ciggi but this time I'm gonna refrain as last time I went from one or two to full on smoking again and it was a nightmare to stop again!

Amme18 · 07/04/2023 09:03

@sally16 same here with smoking! I genuinely enjoy a cig but also always in denial about being a smoker. Before I got pregnant this time I was really bad, and I think I have to be zero tolerance 🤦🏻‍♀️

unluckyinlife · 07/04/2023 10:35

Is anyone else experiencing semi-painful braxton hicks? It's happened to me twice now and I'm only 20 plus 1.

Both time happened after DTD and only lasted about 5/10 minutes. Not sure if I need to be worried as its so early.

BCxx · 07/04/2023 11:31

@unluckyinlife I haven’t had them but I didn’t ever have any last time. I’m sure that’s normal though, I wouldn’t worry as long as the pains are stopping. Maybe worth mentioning when you next see the midwife

unluckyinlife · 07/04/2023 11:35

@BCxx thanks, I have another consultant appointment in a week or so, I'll mention it then.
They definitely stop but my bump has been really painful since today but I think that could just be baby growing. Xx

BMK · 07/04/2023 11:38

@Amme18 and @sally16 thanks so much as that's really helped re wine or etc and I agree re smoking ! It's so hard to stop andSO easy to be hooked by 'just having one or 2" when out etc. *maybe I won't regress, but I kind of know I will; but maybe miraculously not this time!! I craved them constantly in last pregnancies but strangely not at sll really this one; but it's when you can again and when you have drinks...

BCxx · 07/04/2023 11:39

@unluckyinlife I had a really sore day the other day, after my scan actually and I think it could have been something to do with how hard she was pushing down as it actually hurt at parts during it. The pain has gone today though so it probably is something that comes and goes as they get bigger x

BMK · 07/04/2023 11:42

@unluckyinlife I have had sore all over after I overdid housework incl stretching up to line and also separately pain on one side thst was sharp but that turned out to be kind of (warning) bathroom-related! Who was it that mentioned bowling ball between legs/in pelvis!?*apt as I alsO have had this if have lifted heavy things or lifted a lot: weak or not strong enough pelvic floor I think. Should do those awful exercises...

sally16 · 07/04/2023 12:06

@BMK @Amme18 I've had to get a zero nicotine vape this time!
Hardly use it but I really struggled stopping :( and I feel so guilty because I had no issues to go cold Turkey last time! Midwife said it wouldn't cause any issues as nothing nicotine etc going in but I still hide to have my stress vape in the toilet 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
I've got a bottle of passion porn star martini from M&S in my fridge waiting on after baby to have in the sun outside 🤣🤣🤣 it's been there since November 😂😂😂

sally16 · 07/04/2023 12:08

@BMK my bump feels extremely heavy and sore after work! Because there is no light duties and short staffing I'm exhausted so I think it's time for a bump band again full time :(

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 07/04/2023 12:58

@sally16 This made me laugh. I still have my M&S Buck's Fizz waiting for after baby is born, also been there since November.
I have said I want my full Christmas meal in august that I missed last time. Camembert, pate, beef which isn't well done, bucks fizz and champers 😂

sally16 · 07/04/2023 13:41

@MinnieFirstTimeMum omg that's the best plan!!!

DesertSnow · 07/04/2023 16:07

@sally16 @MinnieFirstTimeMum Good ideas! I was at a wedding yesterday and obviously for a good cause, but not being able to treat myself to a prosecco or a slice of brie was a bit sad 😂

We're struggling with picking a name for the baby. The frontrunner we both really like as a name, but it's an increasingly popular baby name, and though I've never met any, apparently often associated as being a pet's name. Does anyone have any opinions? Would either of those factors put you off?

sally16 · 07/04/2023 16:34

@DesertSnow we had two names for my son and I was surprised to go for his name in the end! But he didn't look like a Lukas haha!
Popularity doesn't bother me, but at nursery it's annoying when more than one with the same name as have to get tags with surnames 😂

Spiralout · 07/04/2023 16:51

Cracked open a bottle of de-alcoholised sparkling wine this afternoon and put my feet up in the garden, this is more like it!

Amme18 · 07/04/2023 17:50

yeah not bothered about popularity as in because I want a unique name, but it’s nice if baby’s not gonna end up in a class of 5 if the same name 🤣 equally don’t care if it’s a dog/cat name if I liked it!

LS888 · 07/04/2023 19:45

We don’t want an overly popular first name with the surname smith as could be more than one of them with both names in a class! I think we wouldn’t choose a pet name of one of our own or previous pets but not bothered if someone else has had it as a pet name. It’s so hard choosing though. We are struggling to commit to a boys name but pretty certain of our girls one.

Createcomet · 07/04/2023 20:12

Just had my family here for 10 solid hours (only see them a few times a year) and cooked for 6 of us....I'm sooooo tired now! Why is just cooking a meal so exhausting?! 🤣🤦‍♀️

Also, why has my sickness not gone away!? I did not sign up for this! Anyone else's nausea still going strong?
