Anybody else uneasy and nervous about there 12 weeks scan?. This is my rainbow baby I was 10 weeks pregnant in August with twins that didn't grow into the sacs. Then found out inwas pregnant 4 weeks later with this healthy baby. Just had a scan last week to reassure baby was fine.

HalWin2221 · 23/10/2022 22:46

Hi ladies!

it’s so lovely to read about everyone’s symptoms - especially the cramping because that is so reassuring that it’s normal! 🙌🏾

i’m currently 4+2. I’ve had 2 MC in my previous 2 cycles so hoping this is third time lucky 🤞🏽 my symptoms include sore boobs and passing gas 🫣

LouLa7 · 23/10/2022 23:32

@HalWin2221 I'm so glad you mentioned the gas 😂 I was wondering if it was pregnancy related as it's been bloody awful! I don't remember it from the first time round though. I'm 4+2 today too 😊 x

Ally1992 · 24/10/2022 05:50

Anyone else getting nausea in the middle
of the night? I get it from about midnight until the morning and can’t sleep. If anyone has any tips please let me know!

HalWin2221 · 24/10/2022 07:14

@LouLa7 the OH went into work yesterday and I was so glad because I was so gassy 🫣😂 aw congrats! Did you test after missed AF or was you an early tester? X

Quokka7 · 24/10/2022 07:24

Hey ladies, I watched this video yesterday and thought it might help some of you worrying about cramping. It's a general first trimester video and had some good points about nausea and exercise too.

@Ally1992 I'm suffering with it after dinner but im ok overnight. Are you going to bed hungry? Maybe try a cracker or something else small before going to bed if you are. They say its worse when your stomach is empty. How many weeks are you now? X

tigerlily0 · 24/10/2022 08:37

I need advice ladies,

Iv decided I need to call in sick, this sickness and nausea is kicking my ass and I literally can't work. I ididnt want to tell work yet but I will obviously have to tell my line manager as I have appts coming up too.

Problem is my line manager doesn't work Mondays. So I have to either tell the main boss, or the other manager who is one of my close friends. I don't want to tell either that I'm pregnant. I was going to say I'm sick due to upset tummy. I would feel more comfortable telling my friend but don't want to lie to her and her to know I'm off. But I feel awkward lying to my main boss too. He's a nice guy but still. I don't know what to do

B1993 · 24/10/2022 08:59

@Tinkerbell098, wishing you lots of luck for today's scan! 💖💖

@Ally1992 not me personally but read that it can be worse on an empty stomach and when blood sugar levels are low. Try taking some snacks to bed to nibble on when you wake up. Possibly some ginger nut biscuits?

@tigerlily0 You're not obligated to tell anyone at this stage so wouldn't worry about keeping the truth to yourself - I'm sure you wouldn't be ge first to say you're I'll with a sickness bug - and I'm sure no one will hold it against you when they do find out about the pregancy. I do think you should get in touch with your GP for some medication to manage your symptoms as it sounds awful 😣

Ally1992 · 24/10/2022 09:17

@Quokka7 and @B1993 I think you’re both right about the hunger, I did have a slice of toast just before bed and some grapes at 2am 😅 I think that’s a good idea to keep some biscuits or crackers by my bed. I’m 7+1 today.

Summersun1991 · 24/10/2022 10:12

@tigerlily0 although I haven’t experienced this myself yet, I wouldn’t feel bad at all for not being entirely honest. So many ladies in our office have had to do it and we all completely understand. There’s nothing worse than having to make a mad dash to the toilet to be sick and having to try and hide it from the office.

I Hope you start to feel better soon and they ease off a bit for you. Sounds like you have it quite badly.

How far on are you?

Summersun1991 · 24/10/2022 10:16

It’s also so hard to make a convincing lie when you go out with friends as to why you aren’t drinking 😂

We have fiends coming to stay in November and me and my partner are trying to come up with a convincing lie where they won’t clock on!

Hopeful1992 · 24/10/2022 10:21

i contacted my DRs this morning to let them know about the positive tests, I expected to be asked to go in for a blood test to confirm but they have said I just need to contact the midwife, is this correct or should I be pushing them?

Summersun1991 · 24/10/2022 10:24

@Hopeful1992 mine was the same. I had to self refer via the nhs website and then I got a letter through confirming a telephone appointment date 2 days later.

tigerlily0 · 24/10/2022 10:25

@B1993 yea I decide to call my friend and tell her I think it's sickness bug I'm sure she will understand further down the line when I eventually let her know. I have my booking in tmrw , and im going to call the doctors and im going to speak to my own line manager. Im currently sat at my dining table holding my stomach and literally looking into the distance thinking I should eat something to help the nausea but then I can't actually stomach anything.

@Summersun1991 im 8+4, with my last 2 babies sickness nausea went on til about 16 weeks. And I used to soldier on, this time round im trying to be kinder to myself. I do have the opportunity to wfh some days- but then I have waves of nausea and I literally can't sit at my desk. I'm literally wishing away the first trimester

LouLa7 · 24/10/2022 10:26

@HalWin2221 I found out at 3+2 so I've known for just over a week now 🫣 I just had a feeling and the line on my test was SO light but i could see it (although my husband wasn't so sure). We had the exact same when I was pregnant with my daughter though and that turned out to be positive, so I was pretty sure! How about you?

thedust · 24/10/2022 10:44

Thinking of you today @Tinkerbell098 💐

HalWin2221 · 24/10/2022 11:24

@LouLa7 it’s so nice seeing that line isn’t it, but testing early means more waiting until 12 weeks 🙈 how lovely though! I tested at 8dpo which was 3+1, I tested only to be like it won’t be but at least I get the need of testing out of my system but had a faint line too 🙊

Tinkerbell098 · 24/10/2022 11:29

Hi everyone, thanks so so much for your thoughts. The hospital can't see me until Thursday so I have to bear it until then. I'm slowly coming to terms with it. Good luck with all of your pregnancies. Lots of love XX

B1993 · 24/10/2022 11:40

@Tinkerbell098 How awful that they aren't seeing you until then, the limbo must be unbearable. I hope the scan goes smoothly and, even if it's not positive news, there aren't any complications. 💖

MrsP4 · 24/10/2022 14:04

Hi all just jumping over checking in how is everyone? I'm having a rough day feel sick today and just feel bloated like all the time! Anyone else the same? X

australianish · 24/10/2022 14:22

Hello other June 2023 mums-to-be!

I’m 7 weeks + 4 days today (my due date is 9 June 2023).

I had what I thought was a super light & short period on 27 September, but after a few days of fatigue and nipple sensitivity (and an ovulation test which said I was super fertile when I didn’t expect to be) I decided to take a pregnancy test and it was a BFP! That was a shock, as my husband & I were planning to TTC in October (because that’s when my employer’s maternity benefits kick in)!

This is my first pregnancy and will be both my & my husband’s first child. My pregnancy symptoms haven’t been too bad so far: mild nausea, some fatigue (being able to WFH is amazing for afternoon naps or even morning naps), a heightened sense of smell, and waking in the night to pee. Maybe the most surprising symptom for me has been the sudden onset of anxiety about my little baby - I just want to know that everything is okay! We had a private ultrasound scan at 7 weeks + 1 day and everything was as it should be.

Looking forward to talking to everyone and wishing you all a happy pregnancy with healthy babies!

Quokka7 · 24/10/2022 14:52

@MrsP4 I'm also feeling super sick today. No actual vomiting but just exhausting, all consuming nausea! My lower back is also ACHING! I had a half day at work today so am now enjoying lying on the couch! Unfortunately DH has just got home and grabbed the remote so I'm having to sit through a recording of match of the day! 😫

@australianish welcome! We're due date twins! Mine is also 9th June but Im 7+3. Lovely that you've had a reassuring scan already!

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/10/2022 16:19

@MrsP4 I’m really concerned as I’ve had no nausea at all, not even the faintest hint…
My cramping has settled down too.
My only symptom now is slightly tender boobs that have swollen.
I’m now 5+5 should I be worried/ more symptoms have kicked in by now?

Hi I hope it's okay to join! I think I am around 6 weeks. I had some spotting that really freaked me out but it seems to have stopped for now. I went for a scan after this and it was too early to detect a heartbeat but everything else looked okay. I've noticed a real uptick in symptoms today so trying to feel reassured by this. It is a very anxious time so nice to know we are not alone x

EvelynSalt · 24/10/2022 16:41

Hope it's ok for me to join! Had a BFP yesterday after a round of IVF...due date according to Flo calculate is 29th June. Currently 4 weeks and 4 days apparently!

Feeling happy but nervous - we have a scan booked at the IVF clinic in a few weeks.

It's a massive help hearing about others' experiences on a similar timeline
