Hope everyone’s doing okay today. I’ve got my 12 week scan on Monday, thinking of all of you who do too!

Have any of you ever had feelings about knowing you’ll not be doing things next year because you’ll be very pregnant/on mat leave? I had a meeting yesterday with someone who was organising a work trip abroad and wanted me to come (I travel a lot for work) and I smiled and said non committal things (I hadn’t told her I was pregnant). I want this baby so much so have no regrets but it did make me feel a type of way. I guess until this point I was so focused on miscarriage that I almost didn’t really believe I would have a baby.

BobbySD345 · 26/11/2022 17:50

We just got back from a private scan. So expensive for 5 minutes but it is worth it for peace of mind. Measuring 9 + 6 and heard the heartbeat at 172bpm which was lovely.

@BobbySD345, lovely scan! 🎉🤩 Did your dates match up with what you expected?

@AstroH, I personally don’t feel like I’m missing out when it comes to work things. In fact, I think I feel the opposite and I’m pleased I won’t have the children’s end of year reports to worry about…

BobbySD345 · 26/11/2022 18:46

@B1993 My app says 10 + 2 so 3 days ahead of what they said but its not far off is it ! They also did little videos of baby wiggling away which are cute. I definitely haven't watched them about 10 times since we got home 🙈🙊

dresslol · 26/11/2022 19:25

@AstroH I’ve got my 12 week scan on Tuesday afternoon. Best of luck with yours on Monday.

I know what you mean about suddenly realising that the pregnancy is going to affect plans next year. I’ve just realised that if all continues to go well, with a due date of 10 June, I’m going to have a 7 week old baby when I die to fly to the US for my 12 year old daughter’s World dance champs… I’m not really sure what contingency plans to put in place for that one! I know that makes me sound pretty dim but I was so focused on waiting to pass the highest miscarriage risk period and waiting to get the panorama test results, that none of it really felt real!

B1993 · 27/11/2022 07:25

@BobbySD345, that's lovely! 🥰

Best of luck to everyone with scans coming up! I cannot wait to see more scan photos of our little bubs. 😍

@AstroH have you got the results back now? I'm assuming all was well?!

Veryxonfused · 27/11/2022 08:39

I’ve hit 14 weeks today, which is exciting, but I can’t help feeling worried that my body looks and feels no different. Is this normal with your first? My pregnancy app says I should be able to feel my uterus under my belly button, but honestly I feel nothing

Veryxonfused · 27/11/2022 08:41

I’m small in height with a short torso and have a healthy bmi just to add to the worries

Marmiteontoastyum · 27/11/2022 09:11

Lovely scan 😍 @BobbySD345

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 27/11/2022 09:16

@dresslol Me too! Tuesday 2.45 for me x I've had to cancel my camping holiday in July next year as I don't think I'll be well enough to go unfortunately. I'll have to try do something else so DD doesn't miss out.

Fredthespider · 27/11/2022 09:23

@Veryxonfused that’s very normal! I’ve never been able to feel my uterus although midwives seem to be able to to it. I didn’t ‘pop’ until something like 22 weeks with my first.

I genuinely feel like 12-20 are the most nervous weeks as your first trimester symptoms have usually died down and so you feel quite normal and you don’t always have a bump. It’s easy to forget that you are pregnant!

MrsP4 · 27/11/2022 09:34

@Veryxonfused Please don't worry about not having a bump I didn't get a bump until I was over 20 weeks pregnant with my first enjoy it! Because before you know it you won't be able to tie your own shoes and when you do mange you pee yourself that happened to me at 33 weeks pregnant with my first 🤣

MrsP4 · 27/11/2022 09:43

I'm so nervous/excited for my scan tomorrow 🙈

MrsP4 · 27/11/2022 09:44

@Veryxonfused sorry meant to tag you then on my previous post that was me at 20 weeks last time x

Veryxonfused · 27/11/2022 09:49

@MrsP4 wow you look great there! I think that tiny bump is what I was visualising having now haha. Thank you that makes me feel better

@Fredthespider yeah this is definitely a nerve wracking time, I’ll try my best to enjoy it. Good point though I don’t actually know what I’m looking for but Im sure the midwives can find it

MrsP4 · 27/11/2022 09:51

@Veryxonfused Ah thank you! I think I'm going to be similar this time round I only look pregnant in the evenings atm all the bloating then again not even pregnant just like I've been at the buffet too long 🤣 yesterday I ate my first piece of chocolate since finding out I was pregnancy had completely gone off it so think things are ok the up haha x

BobbySD345 · 27/11/2022 11:58

@MrsP4 I had also completely gone off chocolate and had some Terry's choc orange last night and actually enjoyed it !! Thank goodness haha

BobbySD345 · 27/11/2022 11:59

@Marmiteontoastyum thank you ! And by the way, love your name. Marmite on toast for the win ! Haha

tigerlily0 · 27/11/2022 12:46

I'm 13+4 and my morning sickness and all day nausea has come back with a vengeance. For the last few days. Anyone else?

dresslol · 27/11/2022 13:51

@BellaTheDarkOverlord let me know how your scan goes, I’m in at 3pm! I had a private scan at 10+3 and then the panorama test so I’m not as nervous as I would have been but I only did all that because I’m super old and the risks are so scarily high.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of flying whilst pregnant? I have a holiday booked on the 2nd March, quite a long flight, about 7 hours, when I will be in the 25/26 week. Do you think I will be able to go or will dr’s advise against it because I’m well over 40?

B1993 · 27/11/2022 14:13

@tigerlily0, I’m 13+1 (based off the the scan dates) and I’ve definitely been feeling nauseas again over the last few days. I’ve not been physically sick but it definitely seems to have returned! 😓

@dresslol, I’ve never been pregnant while flying but a friend of mine was. I think there’s the usual risk of blood clots for long flights but you can buy compression stockings to minimise the risk of developing those. My friend was only 22/23 weeks at the time so didn’t have issues but if you’re past 37 weeks they dont tend to let you fly.

dresslol · 27/11/2022 14:37

@B1993 thanks for that. I’ll see if I can ask at my appointment on Tuesday.

firsttimelondonmummy · 27/11/2022 16:09

Anyone absolutely knackered?
My exhaustion seems to have returned 😭
I’m 10+4 and I’ve not even been able to get out of bed today…
My body feels like it’s ran a marathon.
I’ve got such a big work week ahead and really panicking about it 😭

dresslol · 27/11/2022 17:50

@firsttimelondonmummy i’ve had exactly the same thing, some days I am just completely wiped out, other days I have bursts of energy but then crash early. I’ve started falling asleep during films too, I always thought that was an inebriated old man habit, but no! It’s now me!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 27/11/2022 20:38

I'm exhausted too.
Early nights and naps where I can.
My cold is improving a bit.
My scan is tomorrow morning and feeling apprehensive about it.
My friends keep teasing me that is could be twins as I'm an older mum to be.
