Hi everyone. I’ve been following along but haven’t posted yet! I’m 5 + 4 today and since hitting 5 weeks have been having lots of cramping. It feels like strong period pains and comes and goes, never lasting more than half an hour and then can go a few hours without any. Doesn’t wake me up at night and I’ve not had any bleeding. I did wonder if they are gut related as have been having some bloating but they do feel very low down and central where I would normally get period pain.

is anybody else feeling like this at 5 weeks?

Summersun1991 · 23/10/2022 12:09

Hi @Panda0 i’m also at 5+4 today and experiencing the same cramping as you. It comes and goes but is just like period pain. I think this is normal as long as the pain isn’t terrible and no bleeding.

Have you got any other symptoms at this stage? I haven’t really started with nausea yet. I just have sore boobs and armpits weirdly.

firsttimelondonmummy · 23/10/2022 13:09

@Panda0 @Summersun1991 same for me.
im 5+ 4 today also 😊 been getting cramping since 4 weeks (that’s why I tested as I thought it was period pains and never came on).
Get mine randomly, definitely lower tummy & mostly at night (most evenings I feel them in bed).
From a google it seems like a common symptom of early pregnancy even after implantation.

@Summersun1991 my other symptoms are

  • frequent trips for a wee (every 30 mins to an hour in the late eve before bed).
  • swollen boobs (a little more tender than usual, started yesterday).
  • taste of blood/ metallic in mouth sometimes (started yesterday).
  • heightened sense of smell.

I’m sleeping around 8/9 hours also but this is pretty normal for me as I love sleep 😂

@Summersun1991 its reassuring to hear you are feeling the same. Everything I read says it is normal but it’s still easy to feel worried! I find the cramping gets really bad if I have a full bladder and really trying to drink more water at the moment so hopefully that might help. I have had sore boobs too and they feel full/heavy with really sensitive nipples. I haven’t had any nausea either. Definitely feeling tired but hard to know if that is related or just from a busy few days!

Are you planning to go for an early scan or will you wait until your first NHS one?

LettyBee · 23/10/2022 13:39

Hi everyone!

Just joined up today as I am expecting my 5th… 🙈

I have kinda irregular menstrual cycles that range from 30-32 days on average, but can go up to like 38!!! So for that reason I’m not entirely sure yet about my dates, but I last menstruated on the 12th of September and I know that I never DTD with DH for 2.5 weeks from that date as I was in another country.
Long story short, taking my cycle as 32days and counting back 14 days to guess ovulation, I’m probably around 5+2 today…. 🫤
I got my first positive on the 18th and I’ve been checking my line progression like crazy since. I also done a CB digital that gave me 1-2 weeks on Thursday, checked again today and I’m getting 2-3 weeks. I’ve decided that I’m no longer testing as I never obsessed with any of my others and I honestly don’t see the benefits of worrying myself sick anymore than I have. 😅

I noticed a few ladies worried about symptoms, I’ve also no symptoms that I’ve really noticed. Maybe slight food aversions and can no longer drink diluting juice 🤢
Had diarrhoea a couple nights but I think that was due to the vitamins I started taking.
From past experience, my nausea and sickness kicks in sometime around week 6 or 7. I’ve had hyperemesis with all my pregnancies, hospitalised for my first two, so honestly just enjoying being symptom free while it lasts.
I don’t really get swollen or tender breasts until the second or third trimester and that’s when my SPD kicks in, so all I can say is, enjoy your pregnancies while you are relatively symptom free as it can get really rough down the road 😂

So excited to see that there are a few of us within a few days of each other. Hope everyone will have a super happy and healthy pregnancy!! 😆

Tinkerbell098 · 23/10/2022 13:59

Girls I’ve just been for a private scan as deep down I knew something wasn’t right with the not so strong test lines and the 1-2 weeks on CB. They couldn’t find anything. I am classed “pregnancy of unknown location”. They’re going to refer me to the hospital tomorrow hoping to get someone to see me urgently as they suspect ectopic. I’m so sad and so worried.

natkasz · 23/10/2022 14:12

Sorry to hear that @Tinkerbell098. Sending ❤️ xx

I'm so sorry you're going through this @Tinkerbell098 Sending lots of love ❤️

Savanna1990 · 23/10/2022 14:45

So sorry @Tinkerbell098 i hope everything goes well.

@LettyBee my vitamins have been doing that too.

4+2 today here and no symptoms really at all today. Felt a bit sick last night but put it down to the vitamins.

LettyBee · 23/10/2022 14:49

@Savanna1990 out of curiosity, which type are you taking? I’m on Pregnacare Max.

yeah being without symptoms can make you worry, but once they start……you may be regretting wishing for them. 😅 There’s also those lucky few that NEVER have symptoms, so I suppose it’s really down to the individual pregnancy.

Summersun1991 · 23/10/2022 14:58

@Panda0 yeah I think it’s so hard not to worry all the time.
I’m wasn’t sure whether to get a private scan. I have a telephone appointment on 14th Nov so will definitely hold off until then. I had an operation to remove a cyst from my ovary not so long ago and worry that might have an impact. All went well but it’s playing on my mind.

@firsttimelondonmummy yeah I love my sleep too. I guess we need to get it whilst we can as well! I have been waking through the night a lot either needing to wee or just with worry I guess.

@LettyBee congrats!!
yeah I imagine I will be moaning if this sickness starts 😂

@Tinkerbell098 im really sorry to hear this! Sending love!

firsttimelondonmummy · 23/10/2022 15:02

@LettyBee did you get advice re the vitamins?
I’m on the Pregnacare original (the pharmacist at Boots advised me).
Are the max better?

LettyBee · 23/10/2022 15:07

@Summersun1991 thanks hun. Congrats to you as well!!!

Anyone else experience difficulty trying to get a booking appointment with the midwife?
I phoned on Friday and they gave me an appointment in December when I am 11 weeks! I need to phone again on Monday and get them to change it.
I just read my old pregnancy book and confirmed my suspicions that you need to be seen before 10 weeks to get bloods done for sickle cell and thalassaemia.

@firsttimelondonmummy I have always taken Pregnacare plus in the past but I sent DH to the shop and he bought the Max instead. More just precautionary for us as I am considered obese this pregnancy, which I never was in previous, therefore risks are higher. I seen my GP on Friday and got prescribed extra folic acid due to my BMI, but got no advice besides that unfortunately.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 23/10/2022 15:37

@Tinkerbell098 I'm so sorry for what you're going through x I really hope they can find something for you in the right location x Thinking of you xx

Quokka7 · 23/10/2022 15:45

@Tinkerbell098 I'm so sorry. I know you've suspected something hasn't been right, but it's still so hard to hear it confirmed. Thinking of you 💕

Fredthespider · 23/10/2022 15:52

@Tinkerbell098 I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. I have been in your situation and unfortunately it was ectopic. I was lucky that my levels never got too high, and they came down naturally albeit very very slowly. I was back and forth to the hospital regularly for blood tests to check the levels. I will warn you that there was 1 day that they admitted me and said I was likely going to theatre before changing their minds, so my recommendation would be to pack a bag just in case.

In better news I fell pregnant with my son the next month, and weirdly I ovulated on the same side as I had with the ectopic and didn’t have any problems. I ovulated on that side again with this pregnancy too and again everything is in the right place this time. One of the ‘perks’ of having an ectopic is that the EPAU will scan you at 6 weeks for subsequent pregnancies to check it’s all ok.

shabbadababa · 23/10/2022 15:55

Checking in 7weeks 1 day today 🖤

shabbadababa · 23/10/2022 15:57

My symptoms are severe nausea and sickness. & sore boobs. I've also suffered badly with spd and sciatica with both my pregnancy and this ones kicking in early I'm feeling like I'm going through the wars very early this time. I'm having to get my epi pen early too for my gestational diabetes every pregnancy I've received this earlier due to me getting the shakes without it

B1993 · 23/10/2022 16:03

@Tinkerbell098 I'm so sorry that your scan didn't bring reassuring news. 💔 I know you suspected things weren't quite right but im
sure it couldn't have been easy to hear. Good luck with your scan tomorrow and keep us updated. 💖
