@dresslol .
So far it has been harder than the last time. I am exhausted and still being sick in the morning. I like to think it is a positive sign.
The wait for the scan is interminable!
I have lost weight in the last 6 weeks since I got weighed by the midwife but BMI is still in obese category. I am a 14/16 so not as bad as it sounds really!

@Algor1thm, if it was the heartbeat, that's incredible!! 🥰🤩

I was looking into getting one, too, but it's not recommended for so many reasons and I think I'll be the person is who is falsely reaussured or not reassured when baby is actually fine! 🙈 I read this article for Tommy's: www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/blogs-and-stories/im-pregnant/tommys-midwives/word-us-home-dopplers
If anyone is unsure, it has some (I think, at least) helpful information.

It definitely was, over 140bpm 😊 Yep definitely good to be aware of why they're not recommended. In my last pregnancy I only used it between about 12 and 16-18 weeks for reassurance, before I could reliably feel the baby kick. After that I never used it again. I would never have used it in place of going in for reduced movements or anything later on in pregnancy, which I think is the main concern midwives have about them.

WindUpPenguin · 24/11/2022 10:20

Does anyone else find themselves waking up every night needing the loo? It's been going on since I was about 4 weeks, and I've read that hormones can cause this. Anyway, last night I woke up about 3am, and could not get back to sleep. Made it into the office for 10am (luckily I do flexitime and didn't have any meetings, so it's not an issue) but I am absolutely shattered. I'm going to need to load up on the sugar just to stay awake. Craving a sugary coffee but I've so far avoided all caffeine except chocolate, so I don't want to give in...

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/11/2022 10:25

@WindUpPenguin same but I seem to have nailed my routine now 😂 if I go at 12 then I can hold it till 7 sometimes if I’ve had a bit too much water late in the evening I’ll wake up around 3 but that’s far and few in between now.
Was killing me at the start as was 3/4am every night.
Also once I get into bed (10pm ish) I need it every half an hour till I go to sleep lol.

@WindUpPenguin @firsttimelondonmummy I normally have the bladder of a racehorse! Can go all day without needing to pee but since the very start of this pregnancy I have been waking up in the night once or twice and rushing to the loo as soon as I have finished my commute to work. I've also been avoiding caffeine but do sometimes allow myself a decaff coffee (no more than once in a day) is this bad?

@DrinkingAllTheGin I have definitely been gaining weight, I was probably 8/10 before and must be a good 12 already now, UGH. If only it came off as easily!

Still in full on panic mode in the wait for results....

WindUpPenguin · 24/11/2022 10:41

@dresslol Surely decaf coffee is fine? I've been knocking back the decaf coffee and tea. Although I always worry when I'm out that they will accidentally give me 'real' coffee, so I won't have more than one shop bought coffee a day.

dresslol · 24/11/2022 10:51

@WindUpPenguin I always wonder that too! I try to listen when presented with the coffee to see if the barrister says 'decaff'. Not much risk of my coffee from this morning being an 'accidental' real coffee, it tasted of nothing but frothy warm milk.

BobbySD345 · 24/11/2022 11:32

I've never been able to have caffeine and can tell even in one or two sips if they've given me full caffeine by mistake as my head spins. So I do have that advantage ! Also noone questions me drinking caffeine free coke cans when out and about either as they know I can't tolerate caffeine ! Loving being at home today letting my bump hang out no cares in the world.
I really hope all goes to plan in these early stages of this pregnancy as it will definitely be harder dealing with a loss when I am showing. My first mmc at 9 weeks was my first pregnancy and so I had no 'bump' to become attached to. Not that it made it any easier though to be fair.

B1993 · 24/11/2022 11:47

@Algor1thm, that must have been so amazing to hear! 🤩

I'll hope I get to hear my baby at the 16w appointment with my midwife!! 🤞🏻

I'm definitely needing to wee lots a night, too. My 3 year old has been waking up at about 2am every morning so I tend to go then. It's hot and miss if I can fall back to sleep or not, but I'm definitely finding that it's catching up with me. Saying that though, I feel like I have more energy compared to early on this trimester!

tigerlily0 · 24/11/2022 12:19

I literally can't stand tea or coffee when pregnant, even when my sickness subsides. A few family members have questioned me a few times in an evening- like what?? You don't want tea. And then I have to lie and say iv just had one at home.

Has anyone else got a really round belly, like mainly the top part where the stomach is, it's obviously bloated/distended but as soon as I eat something , even something small it's literally ballooned for the rest of the day. I don't remember being this uncomfortable in first trimester with my last 2 pregnancies and didn't even look pregnant til 3rd trimester. This is already killing me with the uncomfortable feeling all day long. Hope it subsides in 2nd trimester

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/11/2022 12:32

@dresslol you are ok to drink a caffeinated cup so decaf is absolutely fine!
Also same here, people used to joke how I never went to the toilet and now I’m useless at holding it.
I am obviously drinking more water though which is clearly contributing!

Yep! 🙋

I'm so bloated I look way more pregnant than I am. I generally suffer with bloating, but pre-pregnancy I could control it with diet and it generally went away overnight. Now I wake up in the morning and it's still there. It doesn't help that I have been on a pretty restrictive diet based on what I can stomach - which seems to be largely refined-carb based.

I am 12 weeks on Saturday and still not received my 12 week scan.

I had a scan at 9 weeks due to bleeding and everything was ok.

I am still really nervous to tell people and worrying a lot.

Hopefully I will feel better when my letter finally arrives?

DrinkingAllTheGin · 24/11/2022 13:36

@Junebaby30 have you got the NHS app? My appointments show on there.

You should phone up if you're turning 12 weeks and don't have a scan. The letter might have got lost in the post? There's only a short window to do the NT test so you should have an appt date by now.

justbelieve · 24/11/2022 13:48

My partner has just tested positive for covid.

I feel like I can’t catch a break - constantly worried something is wrong with baby, went for a scan at 7+4 and baby was fine but the sonographer was shocking and couldn’t lock in long enough for me to satisfy my anxiety that the heartbeat looked fast.

My BMI is 36 and I’m just so worried that this is going to make me MMC.

I’ve got another scan on Sunday at 10 weeks and I’m just dreading it. I hate feeling so anxious, and now the covid in the house.

I just want to feel happy that I’m pregnant😭

My appointment letters didn't turn up and I didn't know the dates until I called the hospital. Could you call them and check?

I have just set this up and it’s on there for next Friday thank you

BobbySD345 · 24/11/2022 15:00

@tigerlily0 it is very rare I fancy tea or coffee at the minute too and if I do have one, I end up leaving half a cup. And the belly thing mine is so hard above the belly button under the bust. I'm convinced it's just bloat as it's not the uterus that high up is it ! Last 2 days I have really noticed a visible bump.

dresslol · 24/11/2022 15:27

@Junebaby30 Glad you've got your appointment all set up now.

@justbelieve I'm so sorry to hear you're having a wretched time, try not to worry, it's all out of your hands, just hang in there and things will get better.

Just got my results back from my panorama tests, all tested abnormalities came back with a less than 1 in 10,000 chance. This is good, no?

And does anyone know what 'Fetal Fraction' with a percentage next to it means?

dresslol · 24/11/2022 15:29

I looked it up, fetal fraction is the percentage of the foetus's blood in the mother's blood sample, just FYI

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 24/11/2022 17:27

@Algor1thm I used a Doppler too. I have one from my first pregnancy that I gave to my brother and he gave me it back as he's not having anymore kids now. I'm struggling to find heartbeat this early due to backwards tilted uterus. I understand why they are controversial. Got my 12 week scan Tuesday when I'll be 12+4.

I think my nausea has now gone but now I'm so poorly with a severe headache and cold. Feeling like it's flu but never had flu before so not sure. Been in bed for days now. One thing after another 😅Taking loads of paracetamol and orange juice.

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/11/2022 17:46

@dresslol yes this is low risk and great news to hear! 💖
Glad everything came back as wanted! ❤️

When is everyone telling everyone? I literally haven't told anyone except my boss at work and my hairdresser lol.

I'm 13 weeks now and I'm struggling so much with bloat and still nauseous and getting SPD pain in my hip and pubic bone already that I feel like I want to tell my sisters for some kind of moral support. My mum has an awful illness right now so even though I will tell her, I'm supporting her more than she can support me.

I wanted to keep it hush for longer because I'm actually still anxious of something going wrong, was never like this with my other 2

Algor1thm · 24/11/2022 21:43

@tigerlily0 I tell people from day 1 who I would want their support if things went wrong, so both immediate families knew early and a couple of close friends. Then the rest of my friends and family and work after my 12 week scan. At 13 weeks things are very unlikely to go wrong so I would start telling close people ❤️
