@Beth262 teeth already?! Wow! My DD didn’t get her first till almost a year old. At least hopefully your little ones come fast then you’re through teething quicker ❤️

Beth262 · 22/09/2022 20:13

@madeleine85 according to the GP, yes 😳 DS 1 didn't have a single tooth until 14 months! His brother seems to be more 14 weeks. Been looking back through some pictures of DS1 in certain outfits that DS2 is just coming into now too. DS1 was 5 months in them. Bubba is like a giant 😂

@madeleine85 just sending a hug and best wishes for scan tomorrow x

Isonthecase · 24/09/2022 22:46

@madeleine85 hope the big day went well!

madeleine85 · 25/09/2022 01:13

Thanks guys ❤️. He did really well, 3 hours In the mri machine under anesthesia and a night in hospital just in case as he was very small to be under so long (still 7lbs). So far the first read of the results is negative but they’re checking again as they took so many images to be sure. Cautiously optimistic that the birth mark is just a birth mark, but hopefully we will know more in 2 weeks at out next check up. How are you all getting on? We’re probably in the worst of the sleep deprivation right now… weeks 6-8 are no fun, but at least it gets better after this (she hopes)

PopGoesBang · 25/09/2022 16:47

@madeleine85 glad it went ok and things are sounding positive so far.

8 week check up and jabs tomorrow. Hoping she takes them as well as she did when she was having her blood sugars checked. I can hope.
She's having so much more awake time now, and you can see her looking at somethings and focusing on them (in a 8 week old way, not a baby genius way!) she has also been eye up the dog, lucky for him she can't coordinate movements, have the knowledge to know she can grab him or the ability to move yet. Ignorance is bliss for him, I'm not breaking the bubble that all of that will be coming in time and he'll never have a peaceful moment again 🤣
Dp and I got engaged today. We'd been talking about it and knew we were going to (old romantics we are) and dp lost his Nan recently and he was offered her engagement ring so we decided we'd use that. He collected it today and handed it over. So now it's official. Honestly thought he'd have joined it to my 40th in November. He'll have to think of a present for that now too 🤣

Hope everyone is doing ok, healing ok and feeling like things are going ok. Not sure things are ever 'normal' again after kids but you do eventually adjust and find a new flow, early days yet - and there are some tough days, but they do get less, or you get used to them, one or the other!

squatternutbosh12 · 25/09/2022 17:52

@PopGoesBang huge congratulations on your engagement, what lovely news ☺️

mamaof2girls · 25/09/2022 18:47

@PopGoesBang congratulations on your engagement. X

Beth262 · 26/09/2022 09:41

@madeleine85 really glad to hear he did well and that the first read out looks positive.

@PopGoesBang Congratulations! That's such lovely news. Bonus that you'll have to get a separate 40th birthday birthday present later this year now he's already proposed 😉

Baby seems to be growing at an alarming rate over here... was 10lb 15oz on Thursday 😳 already have a massive basket of clothes no longer fit 🙈

@PopGoesBang huge congratulations!!! That’s such a lovely story and I love a ring with meaning. Wow, what a year for you ❤️❤️

PopGoesBang · 26/09/2022 17:02

Thank you all. I'm quite excited! Eldest dd has declared she'll wear a white dress 🤣 she'll probably plan the whole day for me. Oh to be 9!
Not sure it'll be a big event but it'll be just right for us and that's all that matters.

Jabs today resulted in actual tears 😢 she is not a happy bunny. Calpol has been given as suggested. Apparently it's the meningitis b jab that makes the 8 week ones rough for them. She really made the nurse feel guilty. But all checks went well. Gp looked at my back - he doesn't think it's the epidural, the main site of pain is too low. Posture and how I sit to feed her the likely cause so shoulders up and chest out, and stop slouching when I feed her - I am awful for that at night on the bed 🙈

ToCaden · 26/09/2022 17:30

Mine had his first jabs a few hours ago. He's now just started screeching when awake until he passes out. Not feeling optimistic about sleep tonight.

Isonthecase · 26/09/2022 18:07

Congratulations @PopGoesBang , you're really getting the big events in quick 🤣

So glad to hear it went well @madeleine85 , what a relief. You can know rationally it's almost certainly absolutely fine but the official results are still reassuring!

Got to get round to booking the jabs and check up, is everyone doing them together?

mamaof2girls · 26/09/2022 18:17

Has anyone else's little ones experienced spots on face neck top off the chest and back off neck? X

Mufflette · 26/09/2022 18:23

Hugs to all the babies having their jabs, ours aren't til next week, not looking forward to it!

Congratulations @PopGoesBang !!

@madeleine85 good to hear the first results look positive, fingers crossed for the same in 2 weeks!

@mamaof2girls yes, we're seeing the doctor about it first thing tomorrow actually! Health visitor thought it might be eczema, it's cleared up a lot today though. Will report back on what doctor thinks about it.

mamaof2girls · 26/09/2022 18:28

@Mufflette aww thank you. See he had it like last week it was mild and like comes and goes this week seems to be pretty back I just thought at first when it was on the face it was just milk spots I don't have my health visitor till next Thursday so wasn't sure if to hold out till then! X

Mufflette · 26/09/2022 18:31

@mamaof2girls exactly the same here, I thought it was a bit if baby acne then it went, then came back even more and now it's going again! Just hoping there's something there to show the doctor tomorrow!

mamaof2girls · 26/09/2022 18:31

Looking at Google images it actually looks a little like baby acne! X

mamaof2girls · 26/09/2022 18:32

@Mufflette I just wrote my post about the baby acne and then seen yours haha! X

Mufflette · 27/09/2022 11:09

No answers on the skin issues today @mamaof2girls the doctor cancelled on us just as we'd loaded baby into the car! Trying again on Thursday with fingers crossed we're both right about the baby acne!

mamaof2girls · 27/09/2022 19:09

@Mufflette oh god how anoyying specially as you were putting little one into the car. Yeah when googling baby acne it does say it can appear for 3 hours or can appear for weeks and that's what his is like one minute I think it looks so mild and hardly any and then few hours later it looks bad! X

squatternutbosh12 · 27/09/2022 22:52

One thing you can try (if you’re breastfeeding) is putting a little bit of breast milk on the baby acne, it has anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties so it can help. It worked quite well for my baby’s acne before I had to stop BF!

Passthetena · 28/09/2022 11:01

@mamaof2girls and @Mufflette at our 10 day hv appointment she warned me about a rash of spots that comes around 4-6 weeks normally on the face, chest etc and said it was caused by hormones leaving their bodies and should clear up in a couple of weeks if that helps. Obviously if you're worried still check but it's likely that, my little one looks like a spotty teen at the minute but it's slowly getting better!

madeleine85 · 28/09/2022 12:41

@Passthetena thats really interesting!my little guy is 7 weeks and for the last 2 weeks has had some tiny baby acne spots on his cheeks.

Mufflette · 28/09/2022 15:21

Thanks @squatternutbosh12 & @Passthetena , love how much knowledge there is on this thread!
