@Delight12 thank you, that gives me hope! How long did the regression last for you roughly? I can’t believe your little girl is one already, that only feels like yesterday I was reading your posts about her being born.

@Beth262 thank you, that’s so kind of you to offer! Luckily I have been able to get some Aproderm on prescription, although I have been told by the GP this will come to an end shortly due to funding etc 🙄 but I’m hoping I won’t be needing it so much by the time that happens (praying he grows out of it) 🤞🏼 I’m glad the Aveeno seems to be working for you at the moment, it’s hard to tell though when they’re having a lull isn’t it. I’m not sure whether we’re having a lull, or whether the dairy free is working, but his skin hasn’t looked this good in months. There’s still slight red patches in areas, but all the roughness and dryness has gone and his skin feels lovely. It could just be a coincidence though and a flare up will return next week, you never know. I will get some of the oat bath to try as that sounds nice! I know exactly what you mean about the Oilatum, I get so nervous trying to get him out the bath with it 😂 I feel for you so much on the sleep front, we’re very similar, we’ve never had a sleep through and we rarely get longer than 2-3 hour stints. I also feel absolutely broken and I can’t imagine this going on for another 2 years!! You must be absolutely exhausted with it all.

@Unsure1010 we are in the same boat! I’ve also created a boob monster who will not settle overnight unless he has boob 90% of the time. It’s a terrible habit but one formed through me just wanting to get us both back to sleep quicker. I have no idea how to stop it, I’ve tried rocking and cuddling him instead but he just cries until he’s fed. I’m guess I’m stuck with it!

It’s so hard when I’m surrounded by friends in real life who all have babies who sleep through wonderfully. Definitely makes me feel like it’s something I’m doing, but I’m clueless as to how to help the situation.

@SantiagoSister only a couple of weeks, she's teething at the moment so wakes up every now and then. We're not quite 1 just yet 9 days left, it's crazy this year has flown by.

ToCaden · 12/05/2023 22:23

They're seeming more and more like toddlers every day. My little guy has discovered he gets attention from me saying 'mama' so is now using it with purpose whenever he wants me to come pick him up or not leave the room. He also repeats 'hi' but 'mama' is the one he's using intentionally in the correct context so think we have a first spoken word (also got a few signs so including those we have six words being used consistantly with a few more occasional signs too).

How did this happen? Seems like yesterday he arrived, and now I can say 'oh look what the cat is doing' and he'll turn around and point at the cat. I can ask if he wants something and he'll smile for yes or shake his head for no. Still has zero balance, but raring to toddle everywhere.

We made little humans guys with thoughts and opinions and everything. Blows your mind when you think about it.

Isonthecase · 13/05/2023 14:47

@ToCaden similar words to mine although I'm not sure he knows what they mean! I'm pushing mama hard, first word is usually dada 🤣

Delight12 · 14/05/2023 17:16

Maddison definitely enjoyed her birthday cake 😂

Beth262 · 14/05/2023 20:29

Oh absolutely lovely @Delight12 🥰
Congratulations to you on surviving the first year! x

@Beth262 thank you 😂 in a few months I will be seeing all your 1 year posts lol x

Beth262 · 14/05/2023 20:39

@Delight12 I just can't believe how quickly the time has gone. Back to work in 5 weeks and although I'm looking forward to some adult conversation, I really hope I win the lottery before that point 😆

@Beth262 it's scary when you think about it, adult conversation was the best thing about going back to work lol but I definitely understand how you feel. Once you go back it will be like nothing happened 😂 x

squatternutbosh12 · 16/05/2023 07:26

Is there a sleep regression at 9/10 months? If so we have been hit. Hard. Send help 😫

Isonthecase · 16/05/2023 14:37

Beautiful @Delight12 , hope you had the best day 🥰

No idea on sleep regressions @squatternutbosh12 ! I'm sure I've heard something somewhere about a 10 month one but can't remember any details

Delight12 · 21/05/2023 12:37

My baby girl is 1 today.

ToCaden · 28/05/2023 21:33

Second spoken not just repeated word today! Banana. There was bound to be something food related at some point. Really I'm very lucky his first word was 'mama'.

Isonthecase · 27/06/2023 14:07

Another month in, can't believe how big they're getting! Not that far off toddlerhood now. How is everyone getting on?

squatternutbosh12 · 27/06/2023 17:40

No words as such here (well, lots of ‘da da’ but not directed at his dada specifically so doesn’t count 🤣)
crawling and furniture cruising with frightening speed… lots of tumbles and bump… 5 teeth.
I myself have had a really rough few weeks with two hospital admissions, home now (hopefully for good) but still feeling dreadful. Which is tough with a baby with this much energy 😱 but onwards and upwards. Hope you are all doing well x

Delight12 · 27/06/2023 20:46

@squatternutbosh12 hope you feel better soon. Maddison now has 2 teeth, she can finally crawl. She says up, mum, dad, gone and more, last time she was weighed she was 18lb 12oz. It's absolutely crazy how fast this year is going.

ToCaden · 27/06/2023 21:16

Crazy how big they're getting. Think we're at 17 or 18 vocalised words now, though firmly on his terms only. One moment he'll be shouting banana to get one, yelling 'gat gat' as he crawls after the cat, pointing at and saying door, next he'll decide to just look at you like you should instictively know what he means without saying anything.

He also likes to point at anything of interest (which is everything especially trees, doors, flowers, and ceiling lights), wave, and randomly show people he knows where his head is.

He's also hands and knees crawling which I was looking forward to for ages (I never crawled so really wanted him to do so), and cruising and climbing up stairs. He's been a little maniac with a death wish the last couple days trying to climb everything. Even stood on top of the roomba and looked very worried when it turned on and he found himself roomba surfing.

He made his first non repeated animal noise the other day (roared when saw a pic of a lion), and now claps along and occasionally also dances to music.

They seem so smart sometimes, yet he still thinks he can eat a banana without taking his dummy out of his mouth...

squatternutbosh12 · 28/06/2023 10:54

Wow there is some impressive speech from babies here! Well done little guys and gals!! 😍

Isonthecase · 29/06/2023 08:20

Hope you're feeling better @squatternutbosh12 ! Maybe your baby will have a few chilled days to let you recover 🤞🤞🤞

We've had a couple of words used in context then never repeated so still not sure if he knows them or it's just a monkey with a typewriter moment 😂 apart from mama, obviously, that went straight in the baby firsts book!

All back to work? I've been back a few weeks and loving the freedom.
