@Butterflytulip I cried when he said it as I have been on the phone to everyone going I am her advocate she had no voice and I was not letting it go at all she has a horrible rash and they kept saying it was baby acne I new in my heart there was more too it xx

annlee3817 · 12/10/2022 01:53

@Sweetbabydust1989 ah I'm so pleased someone has finally listened! She's so similar to Iona that I was surprised you were getting fobbed off! Glad you've got the diagnosis, have they referred you to a dietician? We had to be referred to continue the prescription for the formula on our area. You've not neglected her at all, you've continually tried to find an answer, the docs and HV's are the ones that failed you x

Sweetbabydust1989 · 12/10/2022 04:07

@annlee3817 oh I no I just look at her skin and cry for her as she must hurt.. unfortunately cannot get her milk until today so she has had to have 2 small bottles of the horrible comfort milk I hate giving her it as I no it's going to flare her up.. I think all the doctors knew I wasn't going no where my mum came with me for extra support,. It was when she had her milk and her skin flared up and she started making funny sounds with her breathing I said to them it's not normal the consultant took one look at her and knew straight away xx

annlee3817 · 12/10/2022 04:43

@Sweetbabydust1989 I'm the same with the rash, it's in her hair now, I've been dairy free for a week now and no improvement, hoping I'll see some soon. If not, doc said lactose intolerance which would mean stopping breastfeeding. Going to give it another week and hope it improves

Butterflytulip · 12/10/2022 07:35

Good on you for pushing for an answer @Sweetbabydust1989 you are a wonderful mamma and don't doubt that. She will be perfect after the changes. As @annlee3817 has said push to see a dietician as they could really support you with this as it's not just the milk, you'll need support when it comes to her diet when weaning. Sending hugs

Butterflytulip · 12/10/2022 07:36

@Sweetbabydust1989 iv seen CMPA (cow milk protein allergy) Facebook support pages etc, might be useful for you

Sweetbabydust1989 · 12/10/2022 08:35

@Butterflytulip @annlee3817 well get this before he diagnosis she was referred and it got rejected as there was no evidence she was under suspicion of it I laughed my head off I got that letter Friday and well hello she had a diagnosis so now we have to start that all again I am fuming I have been giving her milk that's mad her so poorly the guilt is real here I feel awful even though I have been on the phone non stop to health visitors and gps.. I have doctors this morning to get it all sorted out and hv Friday which I don't want to go to at all I feel like they failed my daughter big time kept throwing colic in my face yeah because colic causes a rash. Oh and baby acne I knew it was more than that.. I have been so stressed with everything I feel so guilty as she probably fed off my emotions xx

annlee3817 · 12/10/2022 08:38

@Sweetbabydust1989 it's not your fault, I know it makes you feel like shit, but honestly you've done everything you could have done and you still are, be kind to yourself xxx

20viona · 12/10/2022 08:38

@rcal1988 sorry to hear you're struggling. Iv never had forceps so can't comment on that but I have had 2 episiotomies and both times Iv been up and about with ease within a week so I'd imagine it's the forceps that have meant you're struggling longer? Maybe worth getting checked out by someone.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 12/10/2022 14:17

@annlee3817 thanks lovely,. Well she demolished her first 5oz bottle of it and oh my she is still asleep she waking every 20 mins before screaming I no it takes roughly a week for the protein to leave her body but I am hoping she is now going to be more settled I actually got to make myself a lunch instead of living off coffee she had hv on Friday and I honestly don't want to go I feel like they failed my daughter big time and robbed me off the first precious moments with her as all she has done is scream in chronic pain xx

annlee3817 · 12/10/2022 21:13

@Sweetbabydust1989 so pleased she took the bottle and was more settled :) yey for lunch and a coffee xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 12/10/2022 21:30

@annlee3817 it's working finally!! Her skin hasn't got any worse and she slept for hours I am so happy I hope it's going to continue I am finally putting her back in her crib tonight I hope she sleeps well in that as she has been laying on a change mat on the sofa with me xx

annlee3817 · 13/10/2022 09:22

@Sweetbabydust1989 I am so so happy for you and her! That's great news, feel like we're turning a small corner too, skin is starting to look better and slightly longer periods of happy, early days, but hoping if I keep up with the dairy free it will continue to improve

Sweetbabydust1989 · 13/10/2022 12:58

@annlee3817 well she is much better but won't settle in her crib at all not sure what else I can do 🥲 xx

annlee3817 · 13/10/2022 14:34

@Sweetbabydust1989 do you use a sleep bag?

newmumtotwo24 · 13/10/2022 20:22

@Sweetbabydust1989 not settling in a crib is pretty normal when they are super young. As frustrating as it is. I had many nights with my first where he would wake and soon as he went in the crib and baby girl has started doing the same the last few days

Sweetbabydust1989 · 13/10/2022 21:05

@annlee3817 I do have one but she hates it 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just swaddle her but she breaks free is a very active one 😂..

@newmumtotwo24 this little lady is my third she was amazing before this allergy reared it's ugly head she would go down for 3 hours naps in it but how she just wants me as all I was doing was rocking her due to her high pinch screaming when the CMPA was left undiagnosed due to the incompetence of health visitors.. gps and a&e doctors all saying it was serve reflux with colic and baby acne.. she prefers her change mat so I am going to order a cheap one and cut it to size and slot it in her crib to see if that helps xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 14/10/2022 12:48

I finally got into my own bed last night it was bliss actually welcome my partners snoring 😂 so day 3 of new milk and her skin is clearing up and first day of new reflux meds keep all your fingers and toes crossed for me please had health visitor app and she is putting a complaint in on my behalf xx

annlee3817 · 14/10/2022 22:45

Ah all good news @Sweetbabydust1989 glad you've finally seen a decent health visitor. I saw one today and she booked me an appt with the GP as Iona screamed during 90% of the appt and she said it wasn't right, so we've got gaviscon now, hoping it works 🤞 doc said that the dietician referral should be through pretty quickly.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 14/10/2022 23:51

@annlee3817 what did they put on the referral mine got rejected because they failed to put suspected milk allergy they only put reflux down so had to be referred again. oh my little one won't settle still she wakes every 20 mins the milk does not make her feel full xx

annlee3817 · 15/10/2022 04:25

@Sweetbabydust1989 ah sorry she still won't settle. They put suspected milk allergy on the referral and also family history of allergies.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/10/2022 05:30

@annlee3817 fantastic they wouldn't decline it like mine did I was so annoyed as she was diagnosed with it in the end literally 3 days after the rejection letter 🤦🏻‍♀️ have you noticed many symptoms then the rash and wheezing was what set alarms bells ringing for me oh and the hours and hours of screaming.. she will only settle on her change mat in the living room.. asked dp to do his only night feed never again I stayed with him so he had company when really I should of been asleep and oh my he has been a cranky bastard never again I will just suffer no sleep and do it myself he hates getting involved and I am starting to hate him for it like I don't want him here anymore I would rather do it alone xx

annlee3817 · 15/10/2022 07:12

@Sweetbabydust1989 have the referred you again?
She was wheezy, congested, sneezing, mucus in her poo and sometimes green in it, also runny poos, more than 12 a day. The rash and reflux. Rash is starting to go finally, other symptoms not so much, but it can take a few weeks for the dairy to completely leave both of our systems.

annlee3817 · 15/10/2022 07:12

For us, I think the screaming is directly linked to the silent reflux

Sweetbabydust1989 · 15/10/2022 08:45

@annlee3817 oh that's great lovely glad they put the right thing down for you.. yes had to have another referral done which is annoying as she was in the system now we have to wait 3 more weeks.. it was the rash that did it for us it just went so red once she had a bottle.. are you currently breast feeding?? Xx
