@Sweetbabydust1989 aww hope your little
One is ok. Our little girl just turned 3 weeks on Thursday! BF journey going ok but very hard. We give her formula twice - three times a day mainly in evening so I can sleep or if we are out and about. Aptamil made the wind problem so bad that we switched to SMA and she's much better on it. If your using formula it might be worth changing it up? With my first she was on aptamil comfort and tolerated it much better. I can't believe how much formula has gone up since my first born in 2020!

Hope everyone still waiting is going ok. We are in the last week of Sept!! Hopefully all little babas are getting ready to make their big entrance!! 🥰

Hey all, sorry been MIA, baby girl arrived on 15th, 24hrs after my waters broke. It was an intense night in labour but glad she's here. So nice to be able to move around more comfortably again - despite stitches 😒
The days since have been up and down....mainly fine but I've cried most days 🤣 A mix of hormones and just general upheaval I think. Hoping it settles soon!

Sweetbabydust1989 · 24/09/2022 21:45

@Butterflytulip touch wood the infacol is working!! Saw the midwife yesterday and health visitor today and they all said the same thing she is a very windy baby whom likes to drink her milk way too quickly she clamps onto the tear so hard I am fighting her to get it out 😂 I cannot believe how quickly these weeks are flying by I had a lovely nap today other half ordered me to bed and for no one to disturb me I feel like a new woman.. I am currently in the huge bubble bath he ran me and my towel and pjs are on the radiator he has done all the washing up and bottles for me too feeling very loved 💖 how are you getting on??

@GlitteryGreen congratulations lovely oh yes crying is normal I still cry now when I am holding her I feel so so lucky to have her in my arms especially after the year I had to actually get here.. wait until you cry trying to open a jar i did trying to open the jam it was so funny I literally was balling my eyes out I called my mum to come and do it for me I am seeing the funny side now dam hormones xx

Butterflytulip · 25/09/2022 02:14

Awww @Sweetbabydust1989 he's definitely a keeper, sounds amazing! My partner is just the same, really supportive and does loads around the house. 🥰 we are getting on good, little one is putting on weight well and we have a routine established for the breast feed, expressing and formula feeds. I'm getting used to be awake numerous times in the night as we all are 😂 😴

annlee3817 · 25/09/2022 07:22

@GlitteryGreen congratulations!! The first weeks are so emotional, hormones and lack of sleep aren't fun. Sending hugs!

Little one appears to have reflux and if we don't keep her upright for a good twenty mins after a feed, it comes back up, we braved a weekend away the four of us, and she's spent a good chunk of time in the carrier which has helped with that. In the evenings she gets so fussy with feeding, cluster feeds make the reflux worse and cause wind and the equal a very unhappy baby bless her.

Heading home today and plan to take a very slow drive with lots of stops.

Fortuny · 25/09/2022 19:03

Evening, we're on day 3 with our little baby boy. Similar situation again to you @FliFlibbyjibby, went into labour the morning before my induction, and delivered naturally on gas and air in quite a rush.. so much for a water birth and all the kit I bought! Was all over by tea time!

I'm so in love, and also a bit overwhelmed. The day 3 hormones have definitely hit hard today.

Full head of dark hair explains the acid reflux I had Grin still not settled on a name, finding it so hard for boys

WallsH20 · 27/09/2022 17:12

Our little boy, Finley Theodore, arrived on Friday 23rd🥰After being told all pregnancy we were having a small baby he was a whopping 8lb 9oz! Very much in love. Struggling with stitches though after an Episiotomy😬so sore!

Northernerinwales · 28/09/2022 02:13

@WallsH20 congratulations! I can relate to you with the episiotomy soreness. I’m 2weeks down and I’m still sore 🙄 x

annlee3817 · 28/09/2022 04:56

@WallsH20 congratulations!! Hope the soreness eases soon

WallsH20 · 28/09/2022 08:55

@Northernerinwales They're awful aren't they! I had a 3rd degree tear last time and that was a walk in the park compared to this. I can't walk, sit or even lie without being in pain. I'm hoping it starts easing soon! Have you got any tips? I really hope yours is on the mend xx

Fortuny · 28/09/2022 09:58

Congratulations @WWallsH20 Finley is lovely and on our list of names, still haven't come to a decision.

With you on the soreness, I had no idea having a baby would turn me into a giant one Grin

I'm either changing his or my nappy, grizzling about hunger or obsessing equally about our mutual bowel movements Blush.

Butterflytulip · 28/09/2022 11:59

Congrats @Fortuny @WallsH20 🥰

madeleine85 · 28/09/2022 12:38

Congratulations to all the new little ones ❤️. Have we got many left on the group still to pop? If we do hope you’re holding in there ok!

Northernerinwales · 29/09/2022 20:42

@WallsH20 ive been going in the bath every night with Epsom salts and they have worked wonders. I bought the wellness ones with arnica in which is supposed to help healing but it does say not to use them if your breast feeding but normal Epsom salts should do the same. I was using water from a spray bottle after peeing but after a week I stopped and at using baby wipes instead just lightly patting the stitches and wiping gently to make sure down there is clean from the bleeding. I’ve been using the always daily pads too the long ones and because they’re so thin they’re not rubbing which makes it comfortable xx

annlee3817 · 29/09/2022 21:17

@WallsH20 leaning forwards when you wee, so that your hands can touch the floor helps prevent your wee coming into contact with the stitches, as that can sting

WallsH20 · 30/09/2022 07:22

@Northernerinwales @annlee3817 Ah thanks for all the advice! I have been bathing twice a day in lavender oil and milk which has been lovely. I had the community midwife out yesterday who checked them and said they were fine thankfully. What we go through🙈😅

Sweetbabydust1989 · 02/10/2022 10:53

How is everyone doing?? So sienna is now 4 weeks 2 days old she is suffering so badly from colic and reflux it's actually quite exhausting I have had a reflux baby but never a colic one wish I could take it away from her she has had runny poos for 2 days now thinking and she might have an upset stomach hoping that goes if not it's off to the doctors tomorrow.. got her registered on Friday she is now the next generation of working tax payers 😂 still awaiting the dreaded period I have had cramps for the last week constantly feel like iam going to come on but nope nothing yet.. it's still so surreal she is here it's actually weird to say daughter as I have sons but she melts my heart everyday.. other half let me have the night off last night I feel like a new woman after a full 8 hours sleep xx

annlee3817 · 06/10/2022 03:29

@Sweetbabydust1989 how is Sienna doing? We've also got a colicky reflux baby, not experienced before either, feel so sorry for them, although at 5 1/2 weeks the colic seems to be easing. Currently on a strict dairy free diet as they think she may have a cow's milk protein allergy.

And wow, a whole night's sleep, that must have been amazing, good on DH for making that happen for you :)

Sweetbabydust1989 · 06/10/2022 05:55

@annlee3817 it's awful I am slowing loosing the Will to live I have to sleep with her in a sling as she will not settle anywhere other than a sling and car seat iam exhausted and think I am suffering from postnatal depression because of it all.. she just screams all the time I have tried everything.. I was asking the hv about comfort milk and she basically told me she cannot discuss formula feeding because they don't promote it I was like wtf I had no milk so has no other option.. me and my partner are on the verge of splitting up too he doesn't understand what I am going through at all she is like this all day and all night.. xx

annlee3817 · 06/10/2022 06:19

@Sweetbabydust1989 I'm so sorry you're going through this and that is awful of the health visitor? Can you complain and ask for a different one? Also can you get an appointment with your doctor to talk about that and possible PND? I think it's definitely worth trying the comfort formula, what bottles do you use?

Sweetbabydust1989 · 06/10/2022 07:13

@annlee3817 I have spoken to 3 hv's no help just said she will grow out of it.. I am going to speak to my gp and see what they say I am exhausted.. I was using mam bottles but switched to dr browns I just don't no what else to do I am at breaking my point my back hurts from the sling as it's the only thing to settle her.. just wish my other half could understand all this.. the gp though it was a milk allergy put her on special milk and she was screaming for hours and kept throwing up took her a&e and they were no help at all because she is otherwise healthy wet nappies good colour of skin not dehydrated and gaining weight I am so lost atm xx
