@Butterflytulip I hope so I need her to stay out for a couple more weeks at least 🙈 hospital bag half done will finish the rest tomorrow as I am so tired.. my crib is still in the box too I am running out of time and other half is treating it like we have weeks left 🤦🏻‍♀️ xx

Butterflytulip · 20/08/2022 21:41

Aww don't worry @Sweetbabydust1989 when my first baby arrived, my partner spend the 2 nights he had alone while I was in hospital building the pram, next to me and Moses basket!! We have everything sitting in boxes and my little one is arriving week after next. Nothing like a bit of last minute excitement to get the adrenaline going 😂😂

Sweetbabydust1989 · 20/08/2022 21:54

@Butterflytulip this is our third think I would be more organised but nope I more behind with this one than my other 2 🙈 oh he is pain I feel like iam doing this all alone like he doesn't even want the baby xx

Butterflytulip · 20/08/2022 21:56

I'm sure it's more like he's done it before twice so he's super chilled !!! Typical man 😂😂

annlee3817 · 21/08/2022 04:22

@Sweetbabydust1989 try not to worry, I've had a few instances now where the hospital thought I was in early labour and I still didn't.stat getting organised until last week, and probably still haven't properly, we've still got stuff in storage, so have only sorted the crib and car seat in the last week. Buggy still in the box in storage and some other bits 😬

Sabiina · 21/08/2022 09:08

Hey everyone 😊

38 weeks tomorrow, built her bed last night and it all feels so so real and close now. 😍😍

MummyToBe2022 · 21/08/2022 09:26

Morning all

Unsure what to do.
Yesterday whilst shopping had a feeling down below. Nothing different from throughout my pregnancy.
When I got home and went to the toilet my pants were slightly wet, damp not sodden.

I just put it down to maybe a slight leak from baby pushing in my bladder.

Now I've been overthinking. Could it possibly be my back waters?
With my last 2 pregnancies my waters didn't break.

Not had anything since and baby has been doing usual movements.

I hate the not knowing what's happening 😩

What would you ladies do?

annlee3817 · 21/08/2022 10:02

@MummyToBe2022 always worth calling triage, I had this a few weeks ago, although underwear was quite wet, turned out to be a huge amount of watery discharge, but they tested for waters just in case. Better to know either way and not risk infection. I had a test the other day, because when being examined for a sweep there was again a lot of fluid, but test was negative. Registrar said it's important to check.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 21/08/2022 10:44

@Butterflytulip oh definitely he is super chilled and I am waddling around trying to do stuff thankfully my little boys are helping loads too putting bits in the places I need them..

@annlee3817 oh I no I think it's just as it's getting closer I am panicking but I need to remember I can do stuff when she arrives I am just exhausted I think but went to bed so early last night only woke up once so much of needed it.. I do think I have a little bit of thrush 🥺 everything feels so tight especially knickers xx

MummyToBe2022 · 21/08/2022 12:14

Thanks @annlee3817 I always feel like I'm wasting time or asking silly questions.
They weren't too bothered with it only being the once.
Just told to keep an eye on it and to get back in touch if it happens again

Sweetbabydust1989 · 21/08/2022 14:49

So proud of myself today I have managed to do so much with the help of my little ones we have started moving the baby bits into the places they need to be all feels real now I just hope I am not jinxing anything xx

Mum2two2022 · 21/08/2022 16:22

Hi ladies,

So exciting we are all near the end! I feel like I generally cannot be asked. I am low on iron and soooo bloody tired got tabs from midwife yesterday so hopefully they kick in. Last day of work tomorrow thank god🙌🏽
A lot of pressure down below, discharge, movement and period like pains in back. Hoping it won't be long but after the 2nd of September would be ideal to avoid my daughters 2nd bday 🙈🙈

Butterflytulip · 21/08/2022 21:18

Hey anyone who has successfully breast fed. Did you take a v shape or bf pillow into hospital with you?? If so did it help you and baby latch? I failed with BF baby number 1, midwives who I asked for help were so aggressive pushing baby to my boob that it was frustrating for her and upsetting for me so I quickly gave into the bottle. Really want to try and do better second time (and last) around. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

annlee3817 · 21/08/2022 21:23

@Butterflytulip I didn't, I stayed overnight for help with breastfeeding and the midwife helped me with a technique where I lay on my side feeding and DD on her side, which worked well.

Purposely didn't use a feeding pillow at all because wanted to be able to easily feed out and about and was worried if rely on it. It may be worth taking one though, because if they're really busy you might not be able to get as much help.

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 21/08/2022 21:28

I've packed a breastfeeding pillow just incase. I'm having a c-section and was thinking that it might stop me having to bend as much. Although this is my second baby, I never breastfed before so I could be completely wrong thinking this.

Butterflytulip · 21/08/2022 21:29

Thanks @annlee3817 I had a c section the last time and will be this time too so it makes it more challenging. Iv lined up a lactation consultant I can see privately when I get out so I'm hoping that will help.
Will try that position you mention and lots of skin to skin. My nipples were flat.. ish post section which didn't help, I had so much fluid retention after section and was ballooned up for a good 6 weeks!! Fingers crossed for success this time 🤞🤞🤞

Butterflytulip · 21/08/2022 21:31

Thanks @TurquoiseDreamCatcher I might just keep my v shaped pillow in the car and if I really struggle then I can ask my partner to grab it.

Really hoping he can stay longer this time!! 2 years ago in lockdown he only got 2 x 1hr visiting slots and had to pre book. Was awful but preparing myself for similar again

CLC22 · 21/08/2022 22:23

38 weeks pregnant tomorrow, so excited to meet my little girl now 🥰

madeleine85 · 22/08/2022 01:07

Just marking my spot for baby updates, hope you’re all enjoying the final stretch of pregnancy!

@Butterflytulip The post c section swelling is no joke. I just got my usual shoes back on today almost 2 weeks after mine. I didn’t expect it to be this bad at all!

110APiccadilly · 22/08/2022 01:22

@Butterflytulip with DD1 I never had a breastfeeding pillow. I used to put her on top of a normal pillow to help get her in the right position, particularly to start with. But of course they have those in the hospital!

This time round I had a bf pillow passed on to me but didn't take it into the hospital - it seemed so massive. It's nice but tbh I'm using it to keep DD1 off my section scar when she sits on my lap as much as to get DD2 into position for feeding!

So I wouldn't bother taking it in myself.

Sweetbabydust1989 · 22/08/2022 11:56

Done so much nesting it's unreal my bedroom pretty much done... kids room near enough done found so many T-shirts with tags on that still fit then that's a bonus... my hospital bag nearly completed just need to put some clothes in it... baby's hospital bag not even started 🤦🏻‍♀️ how's everyone else doing with their nesting xx

Jamaisy82 · 22/08/2022 12:17
