@Mirabella3

Hi all,

I’ve been following this thread since December and finally have the courage to join and celebrate this journey with you all! I’m pregnant with an IVF baby after 10 years ttc. My due date according to my IVF clinic is 24th August which makes me 19+2, however at my 12wk and 20wk scan baby measured 4 days ahead which makes me 19+6 with a due date of 20th August! Midwife is saying stick to the IVF date, consultant says stick to the 20th August 😆 I know the dates won’t really matter in the end! I’m just so happy to be pregnant! I also think I may be starting to feel baby move, could just be gas though! 😂

Me too! IVF and moved from 17th August to 13th at dating scan. I'm sticking to the 13th as it's nice to feel I'm further along, but keeping the other date in mind in case they say anything is a little behind or if they start worrying too soon about being overdue.
surprised12 · 02/04/2022 00:01

Following - didn't realise we had a new thread :)

PopGoesBang · 02/04/2022 04:19

Hello all - just place marking at stupid o'clock because apparently that is the time I get up now 🤣
Need to catch up on all your news, but we decided to re do the bed room. Having taken our the old built in wardrobes and found the previous owners used them to cover up a lot of broken plaster etc we are now currently sleeping in a shell of a room, with a million paint colours in the walls and my dinning room/front room resemble ikeas wearhouse section and my stairs an aisle in b&q. We'll over look the fact that having no current wardrobe also means the house has added clothing around trying to avoid it getting dusty 🙈 It will be worth it... and repeat

Welcome to the new joiners and congratulations. And thanks for the new thread - can't believe how quickly we are getting through them!

CoalCraft · 02/04/2022 06:33

Weird question but.. anyone else sometimes waking up with a hard uterus?Twice last night I woke up while lying on my side and felt a tightness in my belly, so rolled over and sure enough uterus was hard as a rock Sad

I'm extremely sensitive about "tightenings" because in my last pregnancy I had extreme irritable uterus leading to premature delivery at 33 weeks. Back then I would have rhythmic tightenings followed by relaxation (so basically contractions, though mostly painless), and I don't have that at the moment (the tightness just gradually eased), so I'm not running off to triage just yet, but I'm still anxious. Occasional one-off tightenings are normal, right?

positivevibes22 · 02/04/2022 07:17

Thank you for the new thread @Beth262 🤗

Welcome to the new joiners. We should be due-date twins @makingabebe I'm the 9th of August 😄 I was quite worried at the beginning of my pregnancy too due to a lost a had last year. What I found that works for me is hypnobirthing. I've been practicing for two months now and I can say that I've never felt so confident and relaxed about being pregnancy and especially giving birth. It's definitely worth trying 🙂

netflixandnochill · 02/04/2022 07:51

Yay! I found you guys!

Welcome to @Tacoboutit @Mirabella3 @makingabebe and congratulations 🥳

I’ve got my 20 week scan on Monday, due date is currently 21st August but will be having a c section so will be the week before that. I’m interested to see if the dates change on Monday. Can’t believe I will have waited 4 weeks and 3 days for this scan from my last, so proud of myself for not giving in and booking one just to see her! 💕 Not feeling movement yet but trying not to be concerned about it and just hoping alls well on Monday.

Thank you to @Beth262 for another new thread!

squatternutbosh12 · 02/04/2022 08:29

Welcome @Mirabella3 and @makingabebe! - regarding your CBD drink I am 100% with your cousin - definitely don’t worry! The amount was so so small, and taken once. It would be more worrying if it was repeated use in early pregnancy, but your baby is fully formed and quite robust now- this is really not going to be an issue at all for him/her. Smile

Hello @netflixandnochill nice to see you again! I’m sure scan will be fine on Monday- will think of you!

@CoalCraft I’ve had a few tightenings but often last thing at night? It’s sort of uncomfortable but I’m guessing normal unless as you say they become rhythmic. I have a pregnant friend who I remember started describing these around 20 weeks as well. She’s 38 weeks now! Obv can understand your concern though, and I’m sure if you did want checking out triage would absolutely be happy to given your history!

KCat82 · 02/04/2022 08:49

@Beth262
Thanks for starting this new thread.

Hope everyone's well. I haven't posted in ages so just catching up on the thread.
So pleased to see lots of 20 week scan results and gender discoveries.
Been a difficult couple of weeks, having had Covid which just gave me anxiety about baby but all seems to be fine. Had a call from the midwife to say I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes which I'm still trying to get to grips with. Doing the blood monitoring 4 times a day is getting easier and the diet/lifestyle changes are a small price to pay for a healthy little one but just getting used to it.

I have to confess to being a little envious of all the 20 week scans, I had to chase up the hospital as hadn't received an appt. I'm 29 weeks on Weds but my scan isn't until 21st April which seems like a lifetime away at 22+1. 😂

On the plus side, we've had a private scan and we are expecting a little girl 💕

Cakecakecheese · 02/04/2022 10:52

@mirabella3 A lot of IVF babies measure ahead for some reason. My baby is 5 days ahead of my IVF dates but at least we know exactly when our babies were conceived so we can just stick with those dates.

Mirabella3 · 02/04/2022 13:15

@Cakecakecheese that’s good to know about IVF babies measuring ahead.

At my 12wk and 20wk scans my placenta was low. At my 20wk scan the sonographer said that my placenta is nearly reaching the birth canal! Freaked me out a bit, midwife said that in most cases the placenta will move up but they’ve booked me in for scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks to be keep an eye on it! Happy to have as much monitoring as possible! Is anyone else experiencing the same with a low placenta?

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend Smile

Mirabella3 · 02/04/2022 13:16

@ToCaden yes I too like the earlier date, one day closer to baby! Smile

ToCaden · 02/04/2022 13:41

@Mirabella3 yes. Me too again. At 20 week scan we discovered my placenta is covering the birth canal. Doc doing the scan didn't seem worried and said it happens with a lot of pregnancies, and most of the time it corrects itself before birth.

I already had growth scans due to IVF booked for weeks 28, 30, 32, and will get another scan week 34 just to check if placenta has moved by that point.

Beth262 · 02/04/2022 14:03

Welcome new joiners and congratulations 🎉

@KCat82 congratulations on your girl! 💕

@Mirabella3 I had placenta previa with my DS, diagnosed at my 20 week scan. Like you, I was booked in for extra scans to monitor it, but it had moved sufficiently out of the way by the time he was born. From what I remember being told at the time, in the majority of cases it moves by itself as you grow so try not to freak out too much. There's time yet!

Isonthecase · 02/04/2022 19:27

@CoalCraft I've been having them for a while, worse when I overdo it at all or get dehydrated. I'm not worried as I was the same last time and he was overdue. Given your history though I'd suggest triage wouldn't be a bad idea so at least you know you've had it checked out!

mumforfirsttime · 03/04/2022 12:42

Hey everyone. I have my 20 week scan tomorrow and feeling very nervous/ anxious about it. Did anyone else feel that way? All previous scans / midwife app have been fine so hopefully tomorrow will all be well too, but can't help but worry

Cakecakecheese · 03/04/2022 13:02

@mumforfirsttime
It's natural to be nervous. The day before my 20 week scan I had hideous cramping so was convinced it was going to be bad news. Everything was fine so I was very relieved. I've finally started to relax a bit now. Good luck with your scan.

ToCaden · 03/04/2022 13:57

@Mumforfirsttime totally normal to be nervous. I was fairly chilled after dating scan, and thought that was the last scan I'd worry about, then a day or two before 20 week scan nerves hit me like a truck. Still waiting around for a scan redo as due to baby's position doc couldn't check all he needed, but back to feeling pretty chilled again.

Good luck with your scan.

Mirabella3 · 03/04/2022 14:26

@ToCaden @Beth262 thank you for sharing your experiences! Yes, there’s is still time yet so trying my best not to dwell on it!

@mumforfirsttime I was very anxious before my 20 week scan as I hadn’t felt the baby move yet, however baby was moving around a lot during the scan but I just wasn’t feeling it! Wish you luck for you scan tomorrow!

Glago2017 · 03/04/2022 21:29

Hi everyone, thanks for the new thread.

Not posted in a while as I had covid then was in Canada for a few weeks for a family wedding.
20 week scan on Wednesday but already went for a private scan before flying to reassure me that everything was alright. Found out we are having a boy. DD was not convinced at first but has came round to the idea of a little brother. 🤣
Lovely news to hear everyone's scans are going well and what the gender is for those who are finding out. X

squatternutbosh12 · 03/04/2022 22:44

Ughhhh feeling pissed off tonight. I’m constantly hungry as can’t eat more than a few bites of anything without needing to be sick. Fluids are mostly ok thankfully, my stomach just seems to object to the sensation of food being in there. I’ve lost quite a lot of weight but at least baby seems to be growing normally as far as 20 week scan concerned, though am a bit concerned if this continues he won’t grow as he should. Consultant has me on 3rd line antiemetics & anti-reflux which I thought helped initially but now don’t seem to work that well. Thank for for vitamin tablets lol otherwise he’d be getting bollock all nutrients! 😱

Sorry for the rant I’m just HANGRY!

Celyn22 · 04/04/2022 09:42

@squatternutbosh12 aww bless you. I am the opposite! I am constantly hungry so I keep eating (sometimes on autopilot) and then I feel sick or I lose all my energy to digesting it all! And I know not to eat raw food after cooked as it doesn’t digest well, but I’m knowingly doing that and it’s making me so gassy and my farts smell sooo bad!

On a positive, I want to share with you all something i’ve been working on... I live on a hilltop farm surrounded by semi ancient woodland, which is so beautiful and abundant with birds and nature. It’s my dream place for my little one to grow up. So many trees to climb! However the priorities the past few years have been on other things so the once lovely grassy areas are now covered in brambles and bracken.

The past week I’ve made it my mission to create a safe and beautiful garden for my baby to safely crawl around in and enjoy. I’ve been slashing the brambles down, pulling up roots and mixing up big barrels of compost to spread around. There are quite a few red ants around, so i’ve now learned that is because the soil is too sandy and it lacks earthy minerals. I’m creating the antidote of lots of compost to spread around, to allow the soil to find balance, which should allow the red ants to move somewhere else.

All of this I am doing for my now kicking little baby. The whole time I am working I am thinking of what our life will be like together and imagining play time and cuddles on luscious, soft earth in our cosy garden. Once a bit more clearing is done i’ll plant some colourful flowers and shrubs to make it into a sensory garden.

I have been reading a lot of comments about feeling anxious and stressed about various things, and I’ve been thinking of you all as I create this garden, sending love and peace of mind to you all. I find when I am playing with the plants and earth, my mind is put to ease (mostly!) - sometimes temporarily. I feel gardening is powerful medicine for our souls and dreaming in the future.

So please take from that whatever you wish. I hope it helps SmileFlowers

Isonthecase · 04/04/2022 10:01

@squatternutbosh12 sounds awful, hope they sort it soon! I've still got some nausea but nowhere near as bad and it's annoying enough, so much for the magical 12 weeks freedom mark 🙄

Anyone else still not got much of a bump? I piled the weight on last two times but still only up about half a stone and fit in some pre pregnancy clothes. Starting to get a bit worried, especially as I've not got the 20 week scan for a few days!

Isonthecase · 04/04/2022 10:05

@celyn22 That sounds absolutely idyllic! There's a hilltop farm near me that looks absolutely dreamy, my son likes counting the sheep when he goes past (still wide awake after). Will think of you when tending my single teeny cactus 😂

Beth262 · 04/04/2022 11:07

@squatternutbosh12 Can't believe you're still having such a rough time with sickness, you must be so fed up 😔

@Celyn22 That sounds absolutely lovely and a perfect place to grow as a child!

@Isonthecase thanks for shutting down the 2nd thread. It did make me laugh 😆 I'm the opposite to you, huge bump (or feels like) but that's probably because I'm feeling constantly hungry. I'm going from peckish to ravenous in 3.2 seconds! I'm sure all will be fine at your scan. How many days until you go?

squatternutbosh12 · 04/04/2022 11:18

Thanks guys I’m a bit less hangry this morning, I’ve managed a few bites of yogurt with granola and a cup of tea! Only 4 months to go Grin

Although I did wake from a nightmare at 5am about being executed for some crime I hadn’t committed, and the sentence was being eaten alive by rats. Did not get back to sleep 😂

Anyone else had any absolute corkers of dreams recently?!

@Isonthecase don’t worry too much about bump size, everyone is different and bump size doesn’t always ‘match’ size of baby anyway. I bet everything will be absolutely fine at your scan :)
