@Belle2210 sorry to hear about the morning sickness coming back. With DD I was sick once every morning until she was born. Maybe this baby is also a girl...
This is what mine is. Usually once a day in the morning with nausea on and off.

petitlapin1 · 15/04/2022 09:56

@TotoAnnihiliation Oh no! Lots of rest and fluids. I had extra pillows when I had it which helped the night-time snot and coughing. Get well soon!

@IzzyLeigh I've had lots of food preferences and aversions so far, but only a couple of cravings. Leek in the first few weeks (cooked and ate one there and then!) and bacon, where I drove to McDonald's on the way home from the school run. If I'd been unable to go myself, I'd definitely have sent DH out to get bacon that time.

@HaresHoping I think I'm only a day ahead of you (19+4 today). I don't notice movements every day and don't notice them getting stronger week by week. They seemed to completely disappear for a week around 17 weeks. But when I look back at the first flutters, they're definitely stronger now. I'm not expecting them to be regular for another month or so yet (at least!)

petitlapin1 · 15/04/2022 09:58

@IzzyLeigh Oh, and bleach/chlorine smell is a craving too! I don't want to eat it but will go swimming just to get that hit! It gets rid of that horrible morning sickness taste/feeling for me. Last time it was the smell of lemon shower gel- that really fake smelling stuff. Mmm... 😂

IzzyLeigh · 15/04/2022 11:56

@annlee3817 ha! I haven’t thought about Lucky Charms in a long time! I’m glad a fun cereal like that is what you think of instead of something terribly boring. Now I’m just thinking about all the sugary cereals I had when I was a kid and I’m really wanting some. Ohhh like Cap’n Crunch! Ever try that? It’ll rip your mouth up but it’s so worth it.

@HaresHoping there are so many different types of Cheerios and I feel like they’re always bringing out new ones! Here’s what’s currently available here:
www.cheerios.com/products/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwr-SSBhC9ARIsANhzu15ZrcQZ4hBkhUwx_ehTHI9uSgKtC7x2WP0GXX_g9asc0vjhipnRI2IaArHrEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

And I’m glad you’re going to call in today! Hopefully that’s help set your mind at ease. Please let us know how it goes!

@SoOverThisCrap your reasonings for wanting a scan totally make sense. And even if you had no reasonings at all, I would still support getting a scan anytime you want one! It’s hard to enjoy the good parts of pregnancy if we’re worried and anxious, especially in these long days in-between when there might not be movement or anything yet. So if you can get a scan to get that reassurance, then why not? You can rationalize it by saying that that anxiety and stress isn’t good for the baby, so doing this is helping both of you!

@petitlapin1 the smell cravings completely make sense but I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say it yet! For me it’s the smell of burnt toast. It’s oddly comforting?

Lolling at all the talk of cereal!!! I used to love porridge but ever since I fell pregnant iv gone off it! Cold cereal all the way for me! Granola is my fav! Although I know the dieticians who are keeping an eye if I'm diagnosed with the gestational diabetes again would prefer if I had an egg breakfast !!!

SoOverThisCrap · 15/04/2022 14:50

@IzzyLeigh thank you! 😊

madeleine85 · 15/04/2022 20:16

20 week scan done! The consultant was great, super helpful. Said that everything looks good, he isn't too big or small. Cervix measured the same as last time at 3.8 so no real reason for concern, and that I did not have to take the progesterone which is huge!! He said that studies are coming out disproving how well progesterone prevents early labour and mine last time was late enough (35 weeks) that it isn't a huge issue. No need for further cervical measurements either. Now I definitely have that Friday feeling!

IzzyLeigh · 15/04/2022 20:27

Ahhh! Congrats @madeleine85! I’m so happy for you! Yes yes yes on all counts!

Oh and anterior placenta confirmed, so they said not to expect movement for another few weeks at least. It was interesting to see it on the scan. That thing is frigging massive :)

HaresHoping · 15/04/2022 20:37

@madeleine85 this has made my day! Congratulations on such fabulous news 🥰 you so deserve that Friday feeling!

madeleine85 · 15/04/2022 20:54

Thanks guys, I really am on cloud 9 now. I feel like I can finally get a few small baby things without thinking that I am cursing myself (no matter how stupid that sounds). I have gotten a few already, but was putting off the bigger ones until the 20 week mark. Can't wait to see all the other 20 week pictures coming from all you lovely mamas in the coming few weeks/days!

SoOverThisCrap · 15/04/2022 21:42

@madeleine85 such wonderful news, I'm glad the scan went well 😊

stimpyyouidiot · 15/04/2022 21:50

Ah I'm so glad all is ok @madeleine85

My 20 week isn't until next Wednesday and I'm getting impatient! But at least I can feel baby kicking and rolling (the rolling is still weird, even second time around haha)

TotoAnnihiliation · 15/04/2022 23:08

Congratulations @madeleine85 💕

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been active for ages - so much been going on plus working loads. Also we home educate our eldest kids (have done since 2013) and have finally been able to book in the GCSE and ALevel exams they've been waiting to sit for 2 years!! When they were cancelled through the pandemic we were left in a loophole as they wouldn't accept teacher assessments from us as parents and there were no exams available for them to sit. So we've just shelled out over £1700 for them Sad
Been trying to catch up with everything that's been going on here. Congrats to everyone who's had their scans already - all looking lovely. Mine is on 27/04.
All of your bump pics are amazing too - I've looked 6/7 months pregnant for about the last 2 months as when you've had as many as me the body just kicks into pregnancy mode so early lol. I'll try and get a pic for you all soon. I always get 'are you sure it's not twins?' comments lol.
I haven't really got any cravings - I crave chocolate all the time not just when pregnant lol.
At the moment I'm just sailing though pregnancy but with this being the 5th in as many years you could say I've had lots of practise!! - for anyone who is suffering with sickness/tiredness/any other niggles the best advice I can give is to take it easy, listen to your body, seek advice from your midwife/hospital if you need to and don't push yourself too hard. Everyone is different so comparing yourself to others will only stress you out unnecessarily. Remember your pregnancy journey is yours (and your partners) alone and you should enjoy it!! It comes with bumps along the road but you are growing a tiny person and it is your own little miracle.
Sorry I didn't reply to anyone personally but there was so much discussion just thought I'd start back by letting you all know I'm here. Feel free to @ me or message me and I'll be more involved from now on.
Keep smiling ladies Smile

ShiningStarz · 16/04/2022 07:15

@madeleine85 super news 💙

@stimpyyouidiot mines on wed too!!!

@nearly8 wow home schooling! Take my hat of to ya!!

amorningperson · 16/04/2022 15:30

@madeleine85 amazing news and gorgeous scan capture!

Another couple weeks until my scan- I’ll only be 19 weeks next week! But lots of reassuring movement and on a semi regular schedule (in the evening when reading books with my son!) and after coffee in the morning - caffein kicks (I only have one cup!).

Anyone else finding weekends the most tiring?

Not sure if it’s just the proximity of bed but it calls to me all day Saturdays. I usually feel better in Sunday.

I’ve invested in some nicer maternity stuff this time And boy is it making a difference to my Mood- I’ve mainly bought stuff second hand on eBay but it’s almost like new! Feels so good to not be restricted, even stretchy
Yoga pants are starting to make me feel constricted!

nearly8 · 16/04/2022 19:10

@ShiningStarz thanks. It's not the easiest thing in the world but the eldest three have really thrived and are all way ahead of where they would be if they were in school - despite being held back from actually sitting their exams because of covid. One of the biggest drawbacks is the cost as we have to provide all the resources/learning materials/online subscriptions (we get no funding whatsoever) and also have to pay for them to sit exams externally. We just put in on the credit card and when it's finally paid off then we've all achieved something!

ShiningStarz · 16/04/2022 20:32

@nearly8 that's crazy there is no financial support! I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the long run.

I'm not really getting any movement because of the anterior placenta. The odd time I'll feel something but unsure what is it, I hope to eventually feel something when baby is bigger than placenta !

nearly8 · 16/04/2022 20:46

@ShiningStarz yes definitely - our 15 year old passed her Maths GCSE at aged 12 with a 7 (an A she was 8 marks off an A* and cried! lol) she is this year sitting her English Lit and Lang GCSE Economics GCSE and Maths A Level and our 12 year old son is sitting his Maths GCSE.

I too have an anterior placenta and not really feeling movements either - been the same the last 3 pregnancies so I'm just patiently waiting to be kicked and prodded - all my babies have been night time groovers lol.

SoOverThisCrap · 16/04/2022 21:54

Why on earth did I think that it would be a good idea to drink a pint of water before bedtime?! I've now got endless peeing, just when I think I'm done there's more to come. Then when I get back into bed to try and go to sleep I need to bloody wee again! It's also given me heartburn 🤦‍♀️🙄 the joys of pregnancy eh? 😂🤣

nearly8 · 16/04/2022 23:00

@SoOverThisCrap stay up!! lol find a few funny vids on youtube and chill out lol. With my 5th pregnancy heartburn plagued me for months and rennies were the only thing that would sooth it - I literally ate a pack a day lol. I feel your pain. Hope you get/got to sleep x

nearly8 · 16/04/2022 23:05

I meant soothe** lol

SoOverThisCrap · 17/04/2022 08:53

@nearly8 yep, I took Rennies last night and it seemed to help. I've had breakfast this morning and it's bloody come back! It's across my shoulder blades, my chest, my lower back and lower abdomen. I feel so uncomfortable 🥴

stimpyyouidiot · 17/04/2022 09:25

@SoOverThisCrap I bought a giant tub of tums from Amazon last time, they were a godsend
