@stimpyyouidiot I think I may have to get some! I took a Rennie and it seems to have helped 😊

ShiningStarz · 17/04/2022 12:37

@nearly8 when did you feel the kicks with your previous pregnancies? I don't know when to expect feelings.

Happy Easter everyone!! 🐣

Ps there were some posts on here about sinus pain! This is me now!! Every day for the past week iv had horrible headaches and pressure around the face.

I also had that stomach and shoulder blade pain once. I ate a bit meal (too many carbs!!) and lay down on sofa after and just before I went to bed I was in agony. It was definitely indigestion.
A smaller dinner and a walk before bed defo helps 👍👍

TotoAnnihiliation · 17/04/2022 13:06

I've got horrendous sinus pain and dry eyes but I'm not sure what is pregnancy related and what is covid. Everything is a struggle today!

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 14:56

@SoOverThisCrap Like I said I literally lived on Rennies - soon as it came back I took another lol. I would get heartburn drinking a glass of water!

@ShiningStarz well it varied hugely - as early as 14 weeks and as late as 22. You'll definitely know once they start. And if yours are anything like my others they will pretty much permanently have their foot wedged under your ribcage from 34 weeks onwards lol

Hope you are all enjoying your easter

stimpyyouidiot · 17/04/2022 16:23

Oh the foot in the rib cage. Dd was in an L shape. Bum to my left, and feet firmly lodged in my ribs. It burned with pain!!

mol2mum · 17/04/2022 18:00

I've thought if felt baby move a few times over the past couple of weeks... much more so this week but then today and yesterday I haven't felt anything. Thursday and Friday just gone they movements were sooo strong you could actually see my belly moving slightly. I'm 19 weeks on Tuesday, is it normal for the movements to come and go every few days as they have been?Confused this is my first baby

Carebear99 · 17/04/2022 18:31

I'm 19+2, not really felt anything. It's my second pregnancy but my first pregnancy was 21 years ago. I hope I start feeling movement soon

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 18:58

@Carebear99 I'm sure you will - probably at the most inconvenient times!! lol

@mol2mum I'm 19 weeks on Tuesday too!! We must be due date buddies! Yes it's very normal for movements to be on and off at this stage as baby is still so small. I have the bounty app (strange for someone who's already had 7 babies I know but I love tracking the progress lol) and it can really help getting to grips with just how small baba is at this point lol. My 4yo and 3yo keep asking if the baby is as big as their 7month old sister to which I keep showing them the app and they can't fathom just how small baba is lol. My 4yo now makes it a point every Tuesday to read the development page out loud to me - she's loving it!! Obv you don't have to dload the bounty one but downloading any pregnancy app might be useful to you.

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 19:02

@stimpyyouidiot yeah snap - all of mine had their fair share of rib digging - literally for hours on end. Oh and sticking their bum right out the front of my belly so it formed a cone and looked bloody ridiculous lol I am always the size of a house when I'm pregnant - already looking about 6/7 months gone. Usually I am a size 12 but can easily wear a 16 when pregnant which, if I pull my trousers up to my waist, look completely stupid but comfort is key. Tend to stick to leggings and long dresses/tops as most convenient. I gave up buying maternity clothes many years ago. I just have a wardrobe that spans from size 10-16 Grin great for 'fat' days 'period' days and basically cba days lol

ShiningStarz · 17/04/2022 19:08

@Carebear99 you prob have an anterior placenta too!!

Haha @nearly8 I remember feeling my first and seeing her move across my belly, was so strange. Iv got videos of it!
I just wonder with the anterior placenta this time, how things will be different

Carebear99 · 17/04/2022 19:12

@ShiningStarz hi! At my 12w scan they said it was a posterior placenta, can it move?

mol2mum · 17/04/2022 19:15

@nearly8 ahhh okay that makes me feel much better thanks, I hadn't really thought about it like that. I have the Flo app and apparently at 19 weeks the baby is the size of a mango so I suppose that is still quite small! I just hope the movements become regular soon because the days I feel no movements are still unnervingBlush

mol2mum · 17/04/2022 19:16

@nearly8 also yes! Do you have a due date of 13th September?!

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 19:31

@mol2mum yes! 13th September oooh i've never had a due date buddy before even with my large brood I'm actually quite excited lol. I know what you mean about not feeling movements and it being unnerving but seriously until you've got a regular pattern it's pointless worrying yourself. It's usually around 24-28 weeks that they settle into a pattern (all 7 of my children were night time movers - which was highly frustrating lol) so try not to focus too much on it for now.

@Carebear99 yes! the placenta can move. I found this out with a few of my babies. Sometimes it stays put but as the uterus stretches it can cause the placenta to move too. Highly frustrating again. With my 5th baby it was all over the bloody place lol. And as my uterus stretches A LOT I'm expecting it to have moved by my scan next Wednesday.

@ShiningStarz it's only different in so far as feeling movements a bit later on but as I said to CareBear your placenta can also move so where you might not feel them now if you notice a growth spurt in your belly it could cause the placenta to move to the front, back, side and then you'll know about it lol. If it does stay at the front trust me you still feel the movements in the end!!

The strangest 'movement' for me is always when they start messing with the cord.... I can really feel it in my belly button and it feels so weird lol.

Also for any ladies who have already had babies how did you give birth? Vaginally, Elective CSec or Emergency CSec? I've had 6 vaginally and one emergency CSec (one VBAC) - The emergency one was my 6th - she was 10 days early and transverse - I got to the hospital when my contractions were only 2 mins apart so it was too late to try and turn her. However I was actually really happy she did chose to make an early appearance as she was born 10/03/2020 - 13 days before the first lockdown!! She was due the 20th. I think she knew mama bear DID NOT want to be trapped in lockdown hospital!! I had that CSec and left hospital literally 19 hours after!! If anyone wants any advice regarding any of this I'm happy to lend an ear and my experiences.

I had a homebirth for my first - I was low risk, refused induction and went into labour that day anyway. All was well. No tears at all either so I was very lucky. Hoping for another.

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 19:45

@stimpyyouidiot wow that sounds amazing! I was actually ok'd for a homebirth with my 6th who ended up emergency CSec (TYPICAL!) as the house we were in prior to that was always deemed too small - we moved into a lovely house with a huge living room everything was ok'd and I was sooooo looking forward to the homebirth and then it all changed in a heartbeat!! lol
I hope you get another homebirth lovely I can imagine it being so much more relaxing!

stimpyyouidiot · 17/04/2022 19:55

It was lovely @nearly8 getting in to my bed after was amazing. We've got a great space to have a pool, I just need to put some makeshift curtains up on the French doors and windows haha

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 19:58

@stimpyyouidiot lmao you really made me laugh with the makeshift curtains lol and yes I can imagine getting into your own bed as nothing short of bliss and contentment. Oh and you didn't have to have a shitty cup of lukewarm coffee and cold toast with unmelted butter on!! I'm really rooting for you to have that experience again! Just out of interest was it at night or in the daytime? Do you have a preference? And this time around will you arrange for DC to be elsewhere when it all kicks off or will you keep them at home? I opted to have my children at home (even though it never bloody happened in the end lol).

stimpyyouidiot · 17/04/2022 20:08

I'll keep her at home unless things change. I laboured for a really long time so it was day and night! 5pm Saturday to birth 2am Monday.

SoOverThisCrap · 17/04/2022 20:14

@mol2mum I've been feeling movement (flutters) for the last couple of weeks but Friday and yesterday I felt hardly anything, but this afternoon I've felt strong movements again. I was freaking out slightly but as other posters have said, the baby is still small at this stage so it's perfectly normal not to feel lots of movement every day. 😊

SoOverThisCrap · 17/04/2022 20:19

@nearly8 I had an elective c section with my DD. I found out at 38 weeks during an emergency growth scan that she was Frank breech 😱 they offered to turn her but I 'elected' to have a c section. Didn't really have much of a choice as turning her was not ideal! Then my waters broke at 1.30am, 4 days before my scheduled c section appointment! It was still very chilled out though, fortunately I hadn't dilated and I was their first surgery of the day. I've elected for a c section this time around too.

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 20:19

@stimpyyouidiot wow that is a long time - did the midwives stay the whole time? (well inbetween shift changes etc) or was that from early contractions 5pm Saturday? But again I bet you were so much more comfortable at home for that time! I literally wait until contractions are coming every 4 minutes before alerting the hospital and labour as much as I can at home. Awww it will be lovely for your DD to meet baba so soon as well. How old is she? Also I can't remember if you said what you're having this time around. I am literally smiling for you imagining how lovely your homebirth will be!!

stimpyyouidiot · 17/04/2022 20:21

No they didn't come until 7pm on the Sunday - I was labouring away at home but dilating slowly. They came round at 9ish the Sunday and I was only 1-2cm. When they came at 7 I was around 7cm so stayed.

Dd is 4 (will be 5 when baby comes) and very excited, I think she will be much happier with us being here than having to go stay somewhere else potentially.

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 20:28

@SoOverThisCrap wow I bet that was a rollercoaster of emotions!! Was it your full waters that broke or just your back waters? I think you are wise to go for elective CSec too - much more calming than emergency. Did you consider VBAC? I'm hoping for another VBAC purely because I am a really horrible patient and hated the whole epidural experience and having to stay in hospital. I get out of there as soon as I can! I got shouted at with my last baby as because I had had an emergency CSec the baby before they advised me to get to hospital earlier than I normally would (usually rock up there when contractions are about 4mins apart) It wasn't directly my fault though as I had called when my contractions were 10 mins apart and in the 10mins of getting ready to leave and the 10 min drive and parking at the hospital I'd progressed to 2mins apart and was 7cm dialated!! They prepped me with a canula just in case but I was able to give birth vaginally. She was back to back though (another symptom of anterior placenta ladies!! not always but more likely apparently) and the pain was wayyyyyyyyyyy more than my previous ones and it really hurt my CSec scar which the midwife said was normal.

How long did you stay in hospital after your CSec and were you stitched or stapled? Also how old is your DD now?

nearly8 · 17/04/2022 20:31

@stimpyyouidiot yes I think you're right that she will be much happier at home. She's slightly older than my 4yo so I can imagine how excited she is! Did you have any pain relief at all?
