@Rolledthedice It's good to hear about what your midwife said reg movements. I'm 26 weeks now and baby definitely has quieter and more active days as well.
The one pattern that I did notice though is that she is usually awake when I wake up and go to sleep.
Welcome to the group @Babyno21990
@mrkb I hope you will recover quickly. All the best :)
I need to get one of those bags as well.

Prema112 · 12/03/2022 18:58

@GrowBabyGrow I was thinking about out this today, it's only in the last week (since 27 weeks) that I've felt baby much more. Kinda happened over night, I thought he was just having an active day but then it continued every day and now I think he's just got big enough for me to feel more rather than he's actually moving more, I think I just couldn't feel it so much before. I feel more confident now at 28.5 weeks that I would know if I had reduced movements and to go straight in

Vimto1991 · 12/03/2022 19:25

@Annabell1 I’ve noticed wake up/sleep, too. I often wonder if they have woken up because I have, or if I have woken up because they have… or we incidentally wake up the same time. 😂

Annabell1 · 12/03/2022 19:54

@Vimto1991 Good question. 😂 I guess we won't find out.
I thought that mines wakes up when roll over to the other side.

GrowBabyGrow · 12/03/2022 20:27

Thank you all for your insights on movements! It's reassuring to know that it sounds normal for her not have much of a pattern yet.

Babyno21990 · 12/03/2022 20:29

@Annabell1 thanks 🥰
Have many of you packed your hospital bags yet lol my sister is shocked that I haven't mines packed!! But I feel its too early I'm almost 29 weeks!

Prema112 · 12/03/2022 20:34

Welcome @Babyno21990 No way I won't pack my bag until 36 weeks I reckon!

Prema112 · 12/03/2022 20:35

We won't even be getting all our baby stuff from my parents loft until 34 weeks

Rolledthedice · 12/03/2022 20:39

@Vimto1991 and @Annabell1 I’ve noticed the same pattern, and also that she’s awake when I roll over on my side. I often wake up early for no obvious reason and she’s usually awake too (so maybe that’s what wakes me up!)

Annabell1 · 12/03/2022 21:11

@Babyno21990 I have just started to watch some youtube videos on what to pack yesterday. And I'm slowly adding things to my amazon basket. That's how far I am :D
I might start at around 34/35 weeks, similar to @Prema112. My partner and I were both preemies, so want to be ready just in case.
@Rolledthedice Yes that could be. Mine has also woken me up a few times in the middle of the night while having a party.

Octoblockisadick · 12/03/2022 22:17

Didn't realise there was a new thread, was wondering why it had gone quiet haha!

@MrsNT Ones on retail parks tend to be better too. I've managed to get 3 of the packs with the nappies in, so I've now got 90 newborn size nappies. Hopefully they suit baby! Planning on throwing a pack into my hospital bag. Just be aware though, my daughter had a really bad reaction to huggies wipes as a newborn, i think they were too "wet" so worth being careful. My packs had aldi wipes in, must depend what batch they are from or something. Agree with @Turniptracker that the one with the nappies is the only decent one tbh. Rest are just full of leaflets.
Didn't realise bounty did a pack though!

@Annabell1 oh no sorry you've got a rash, hope it isn't too bad.

@PeeAche2 I'm not bothering with a baby monitor yet, baby will be in the same room as me all the time for the first few months so got at least 6 months from now until needed I reckon. I'll have a look when there are sales or good deals though in case anything stands out. My daughter had one that plays lullabies and projects stars onto the ceiling and still uses that part now at almost 4, we just don't put the receiver on.

@PleaseSendNoodles a breast pump is an incredible freebie! Assuming you want to breastfeed and pump of course!

@Babyno21990 oh god no I haven't started my bag yet! I'm 27 weeks so a bit less than you but I'm not even thinking about packing it yet. I wouldn't have a clue what i had packed by the time i came to use it haha! Planning on doing it around 36/37 weeks. I'm similar to @Annabell1 in that I'm starting to think what I'm going to need and buying it, but definitely not packing it yet.

Out of curiosity, has anyone done the online baby course by the baby academy? It’s two hours long, free and runs on a Saturday. I did it today and it was very informative. Just thought I’d spread the info. :)

singlemomattc29 · 13/03/2022 02:04

@Vimto1991 I have signed up for it soon... Glad to hear it was helpful 😊

singlemomattc29 · 13/03/2022 02:06

@MrsNT I think argos is probably better place indeed.. I asked in boots twice about their parenting club offers and they never have them so probably won't have the packs as well. I am going to Argos soon to try and get mine 🤞

Lostintranslatio · 13/03/2022 03:29

@Vimto1991 I've done four of their free classes and I found them very informative. Higly recommended (but that's is maybe because I'm a FTM😂). Considering signing up for the paid one on breastfeeding.

Vimto1991 · 13/03/2022 07:08

I felt super dizzy yesterday, shrugged it off but feeling the same today. If I feel the same tomorrow is it worth calling my GP? Or is this a new normal side affect to pregnancy? I have my 28 week bloods on Friday which I imagine would show up things like low iron, but is it best to get a quicker look to see what it is?

unknownscot · 13/03/2022 07:20

@Vimto1991
I did the baby safety one last weekend and switched it off, although I'm a FTM I've been around babies all my life and didn't find it helpful.

In saying that, I've signed up other brands so will see how they go.

I'm glad you found it useful though, everyone has such different experiences. It's what makes the world so great ❣️

pregnancydiaries · 13/03/2022 07:23

@Vimto1991 I've had a few fainting spells recently due to low blood pressure and low iron. I'm on iron supplements now but the consensus I seem to be getting is that dizziness/light headedness is just an unfortunate symptom and there's nothing you can do. Might be worth getting bloods done earlier if you can to start on iron a few days earlier than Friday just in case xxx

Vimto1991 · 13/03/2022 07:39

@unknownscot I’ve not had any dealings with babies due to being an only child and being one of the youngest cousins, too. Only now are my friends having babies so not much experience. 🙈 the one I did was baby care which left me overwhelmed but I’m informed 😂

@pregnancydiaries thanks for the advice! I started to panic if I have low iron that I could be affecting the baby, I’ll call up tomorrow and hopefully they can fit me in ASAP, I wont hold my breath with my GP, though, then I’ll anxiously wait until Friday and worry something will happen to baby. 😬😬

pregnancydiaries · 13/03/2022 08:11

@Vimto1991 honestly this was me. My iron has been dropping consistently even while I'm on iron supplements and no one (including consultant) seems bothered at all or thinking it will affect baby until I'm literally on deaths door. I got another test on Friday to see if it's finally falling low enough for an iron transfusion but honestly I wouldn't worry about it affecting baby when they seem very blazay about it, especially if you've only just started getting symptoms xxx

Vimto1991 · 13/03/2022 08:17

@pregnancydiaries true, I consistently feel tired because of my thyroid and just being pregnant but this is my first time feeling weak and dizzy and started yesterday. Fingers crossed I can be sorted soon, but also fingers crossed your consultant gets their crap together and helps you! I was reading a thread on here back from 2018 and it actually mirrors what you said, supplements not working and consultant not bothered until it’s drastically low. They obviously aren’t too fussed then 😅 I hope you get sorted soon!

I've signed up for the baby safety one. I did the Honest Midwife Labour one which was free and thought she was absolutely brilliant! Tempted to pay for her other ones 🙈
Vimto1991 · 13/03/2022 08:56

@MrsTwentyNine oooooh thanks!! I’ll give that one a look as the one I did was baby care and didn’t include labour! I was tempted to get the full day, but getting NHS classes next month so not sure I want to pay for private ones if it’s the same info.

hellointhere · 13/03/2022 09:11

Thank you for the tag and also mentioning baby academy free courses, I had never heard of it before and will check it out!

singlemomattc29 · 13/03/2022 09:12

I've signed up fot some of the honest midwife that are free... Others are 25£ and I might book later if I like the free ones. Just found they have free yoga classes as well every Sunday. Signed up for a few.

I'm also doing the baby academy free ones. I didn't find any face to face in my area at decent price for my pocket so I'm happy with online classes.
