I was the last poster on the last thread and didn't start the new one. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So self absorbed!

Thanks @MrsNT

Does anyone else keep getting "shocks" through their breasts? Like nerve ending pain.

@imhereforthecake I'm going to use the bassinet that comes with my travel system. It's also approved for occasional overnight sleeping. So cot upstairs and pram downstairs.

Has anyone started looking at baby monitors? I'm a bit overwhelmed!!

Slanketeer · 11/03/2022 21:16

@MrsNT It took around 3 weeks for the voucher to arrive from signing up!

CurryandSnuggle · 11/03/2022 21:18

@PeeAche2 I did in first trimester but not now. Guess it’s just them getting ready somehow.

I keep getting the dreaded fanny daggers though and omg it hurts Blush

MrsNT · 11/03/2022 21:23

So i stopped by argos on my grocery run and i got all 3 bags and the purple one- bump to baby is the best pack as some ladies said above. A full size newborn nappies pack by Pamper, a full size huggies water wipe, some posh looking nappy rash cream , breast pads and a few brochures

How do I get these packs?!

PleaseSendNoodles · 12/03/2022 00:51

Thanks for the new thread, @MrsNT - you’re a star!

Glad the consensus is we’ll like our own babies and find them more interesting! Thanks everyone 💕

I don’t get the bounty or Emma packs being our here… so I’m a bit jealous but then I remind myself I get a few other American freebies. Like a hospital grade electric breast pump?! That surprised me but I’m not complaining.

@CurryandSnuggle oh god me too. Fanny daggers are the worst. Sending my sympathies!

CurryandSnuggle · 12/03/2022 07:36

@PleaseSendNoodles wow I’d love a free electric breast pump. They cost a lot!

Turniptracker · 12/03/2022 07:48

A name came to me in a dream last night. Surely must be a sign. It's quite a nice fit as it's Spanish but has an English shortening, so covers our two countries. Eagerly awake hubby waking up to instantly veto it though like everything else I've ever loved 💔
Does anyone else get a kick from getting Facebook marketplace bargains? So far I've had a free Moses basket, baby bath, bouncer and a very nice tutti Bambini glider nursing chair (I'm very smug about that one!).

Turniptracker · 12/03/2022 07:49

Eagerly await* not awake.

MrsTwentyNine · 12/03/2022 08:42

@imhereforthecake

Thanks for the tag!

Quick question...
I've got a snuzpod for the bedroom it says you can lift off to take downstairs etc, just seems like a bit of a ball ache if I'm honest.

Do I need a Moses basket or something for downstairs or am I being lazy

I got a chicco for the bedroom then people around kept talking about the Dock A Tot for downstairs so have that too. Maybe just to have baby in it while I'm watching him. I also stupidly ordered this "nuna baby leaf rocker" in my panic about "what do I do with baby if I need the loo and I'm alone" Blush Figured I needed something I can drag inside the loo 😂 definitely overthinking this...
Babyno21990 · 12/03/2022 08:45

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me just joining this thread but eager to find a little support group for the final 12 weeks of pregnancy. DD2 due June 2nd and can't wait to meet her but also to feel normal again 😂 Hope you and all your bumps are doing well 🥰

GrowBabyGrow · 12/03/2022 08:53

Thank you for the tag @MrsNT!

Haha @MrsTwentyNine we got a bouncer for the same reason! My husband literally refers to it as 'the thing to put the baby in while you use the loo'. I hear they are really useful. Although we have a split loo and bath/sink room and I don't know if baby in bouncer will fit in the loo room with me!

Ladies who are closer/ into third tri, when did baby movements start to get a pattern? I'm 24+4 and she still isn't in any sort of pattern apart from she seems to be quieter mid week and move more at weekends but I think that's because I notice the movement more when not working. All the kicks are still quite low down as well even though bump is getting huge.

MrsTwentyNine · 12/03/2022 08:57

@GrowBabyGrow haha phew glad I'm not the only one!! Though I'm not sure about the size either...I may need to leave the door open😂

I also want to know the answer to your question! I'm 26+3 and I know he is more active at night / when I'm sleeping but other than that I don't have a pattern!

mrkb · 12/03/2022 09:56

@GrowBabyGrow @MrsTwentyNine

I don't know if this is just because I've been in bed for 4 days and so have become more attuned to movements but I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and feel like I've only started to notice regular kicks (as in definite, more than 10, and around every 60-90 mins) the last few days. It's put the last few weeks into perspective and reassured me retrospectively than when I wasn't feeling anything it was quite normal. I'm sure I'll continue to have little panics about movement but I (think??) I feel more confident now that I'd know if lack of movement was just her sleeping or something to be worried about.

Having said all of this, I have an anterior placenta and when I had a scan on Wednesday she told me the baby was moving all over the place and I couldn't feel a thing 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rolledthedice · 12/03/2022 11:36

Welcome @Babyno21990! 😊

With regards movements, I asked my midwife about movement tracking yesterday and she said the counting thing is what the NHS asks for but at the end of the day, it’s better to just have an overall sense of your baby’s pattern rather than getting hung up on exact counts and hours. She pointed out that babies have quiet days in the same way we do. So as long as mine is moving somewhat regularly throughout the day I will assume she’s all good! If I want to make sure then I’ll drink cold water, eat a meal or neck a can of coke/some sugar! My midwife has a common sense approach which I like, she says most women know if something is up (trust your instincts).

I think we get bombarded with too much information and it fuels unhelpful anxieties, so I’m trying to stay tuned to my instincts.

Vimto1991 · 12/03/2022 11:51

Thanks for the tag! Saw the comment about Emma’s diary bag, I got an after bump one at my private scan, I may attempt Argos in town today for the others.

Also, I placed an order for Lush and got some nice sounding conditioner. Just read the ingredients and it has clary sage oil in it. Fml. 🙈 wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t £8. Good thing Mother’s Day is coming up 😅

PleaseSendNoodles · 12/03/2022 13:50

@CurryandSnuggle yeah, turns out most medical insurance companies give them on prescription. I guess it makes sense as so many women in the US have little choice than to tax a maximum of 12 weeks maternity leave so lots of them pump. As I said, not complaining!

@Babyno21990 welcome to our super chatty group!

@mrkb how are you feeling now?

@Vimto1991 ohhh guessing that’s one we have to avoid? I’ve been so bad at keeping tabs on what’s not allowed. Bummer about the conditioner but at least you have one for after!

EarlGreywithLemon · 12/03/2022 13:54

A bouncer is definitely a godsend! I had showers with our daughter in the bathroom in hers. If the cover is machine washable it’s even better.

fpeg · 12/03/2022 13:56

@GrowBabyGrow I'm 28+3 today and over the last week she's definitely got much more active (or I'm just probably noticing more as she gets bigger!), as @mrkb said below still has the odd quieter day but I know I'm more likely to feel her at certain times of the day. I would say she's just beginning to move into more of a pattern but it's not 100% consistent, then again neither am I 😂 midwife said it tends to be from 32 weeks that patterns are much more established but you can often start to sense them forming one from 28, so I think that's where I'm at. When I had my scan on Thursday she was moving loads, but interestingly I couldn't feel a lot of it - probably because she was properly head down facing my back so kicks were directed backwards rather than outwards. It was actually quite reassuring.

A lot of the movements I feel are still low down too, much more common than higher up ones although I do get more of those now than I used to. I've got a posterior placenta.

Welcome @Babyno21990 ☺️

Vimto1991 · 12/03/2022 14:45

@PeeAche2 just for you 😂

Due June 2022 Thread Nine
mrkb · 12/03/2022 15:00

@PleaseSendNoodles starting to feel a bit better (relative to how I was) - more like a crap cold now - but very blocked up and exhausted! I've also totally lost my sense of smell which is a very bizarre sensation. Hoping that lots of rest this weekend is what's needed! Thanks for checking in :)

PeeAche2 · 12/03/2022 15:19

@Vimto1991 😍

It's so enticing!

Vimto1991 · 12/03/2022 16:55

@PeeAche2 glad you think so 🤣 really hoping it doesn’t become an outie!!

Just been to my local Argos and scored three Emma’s diary bags! Okay lots of leaflets but plenty of products and samples, too! Plus coupons I may use. :) even got some nature valley bars and I’m starving. 😂 bonus, the guy didn’t scan my voucher, so I’ve got another three times to go back! 😂

unknownscot · 12/03/2022 16:59

@MrsNT

Has anyone got hold of emma diarys baby pack? It seems to be always out of stock in my local boots.only got hold of the mum to be and new family pack
Funnily enough I wrote a big complaint to them yesterday - one was in stock in my local boots but it was shite and all the vouchers had already expired.
Littlemilomoo · 12/03/2022 17:42

@MrsNT I got 3 of the bump to baby packs from Argos. All 3 bags had a pack of 22 pampers nappies and 2 of the bags also had a full pack of Huggies wipes 😁😁
