Reached 30 weeks but honestly don't know how I will potentially last another 10!
I swear I have no more room in there.
My ribs constantly burn and my pelvis has had it.
If one more person says to me 'oh I don't think you'll make full term with that bump' I will scream.
Not really sure on the point of the post but I feel better after a rant and feeling sorry for myself Grin

Flowerbug1994 · 06/04/2022 12:35

How long before due date is everyone finishing work ? I am due Friday 10th June and finish Friday 27th May taking a few days leave then 2 bank holiday and then maternity starts. Am thinking is this to late especially with my baby currently being breech and if he stays like
This will probably have section at 39 weeks. What’s everyone else’s plan ?

Vimto1991 · 06/04/2022 12:49

@imhereforthecake I’ve been asking myself this. 31 weeks and to be fair I’ve suddenly ballooned! I’m 5’4’’ and not sure how I’ll look in ten weeks time 😂

@Flowerbug1994 it’s really up to the individual. My original plan was two weeks annual leave before my due date, but now pushed my mat leave to two weeks before due date and taking three weeks annual leave. I’ll still carry over 11 days plus 6 bank holidays into next year, just can’t cope at work and want to chill now. 😅

Roxystar23 · 06/04/2022 12:51

Thanks @Octoblockisadick & @EarlGreywithLemon for sheet recommendations! I will have a look - I think I was about to start going “sheet blind” with the amount of products I had been looking at. Haha!

Thanks @Prema112 for the baby monitor recommendation too.

@Flowerbug1994 - I’m similar to you. Due in June 9th and finishing on Friday 27th - I was unsure whether I should have moved it to the following Monday or not as I’m not sure if I’m losing out on the two weekend days. I’m lucky enough to be working from home - I think I would have to have stopped much sooner if I wasn’t able to have my afternoon naps.

Octoblockisadick · 06/04/2022 13:39

@imhereforthecake same! Everyone keeps asking me if I'm sure it isn't twins argh! Not helped by keeping seeing random posts about women having growth scans at like 32 / 36 weeks and them finding a second baby on the scan that they knew nothing about until that point 😩.

@Flowerbug1994 I'm due 11th, taking couple of days annual leave from 23rd May then mat leave from 26th May. At the time I wanted to stay longer, but was awkward with carrying entitlement across tax years, and worked out reasonably well with half term for my daughter. Now I'm glad I'm not staying later though, if anything I would like earlier but then I'm not willing to give up the time afterwards haha. With my daughter I only started mat leave 9 days before my elective section and it was great tbh, no waiting around at the start and extra time to spend with her at the end.

Esperer · 06/04/2022 13:41

Does anyone have any experience of gestational diabetes? I'm nearly 30 weeks and have gained over 13kg (combination of constant carbs in first trimester to manage nausea and then crazy hunger and chocolate cravings since) despite exercising every day. I now have sugar in my wee, GTT booked for friday but am absolutely racked with guilt that my baby might be affected by my diet. Feel very stressed about it and not sure what to do

Letsbekindplease · 06/04/2022 13:57

@Octoblockisadick Grin haha this made me laugh as I feel like I’m having twins but they have only said there’s one in there. This comment made me question if they’ve got it wrong hahah.

I am knee deep in a bag of marshmallows. So addicted to these at the moment.

Flowerbug1994 · 06/04/2022 14:13

@Vimto1991 @Roxystar23 @Octoblockisadick thanks for your reply’s I started to think I was mad going 2 weeks before as everyone seemed shocked with me still having 9 weeks to go and 7 left working but I only have 3 full 5 day weeks left and I am at home 3 days a week so that doesn’t feel bad. Also my job is full flexi so I can do shorter days if needed I still feel fine to do it and am doing over time most weekends from home as I still good enough to get it done xx

Roxystar23 · 06/04/2022 14:28

@Octoblockisadick Woah!! I can’t imagine what it would be like to find out at 32/36 weeks that there was an extra baby in there!

Although as the MW and the consultant seem to be disagreeing about what percentile my baby is at - in a strange way this would make sense if they were each measuring a different baby! Haha!!

EarlGreywithLemon · 06/04/2022 14:31

@Flowerbug1994 I’m due 12 June but expecting the C section to be booked around 6 June ish. I’m taking from 20 May off with accrued holiday.
@Esperer don’t feel guilty! GD (if you have it) is not caused by diet. It’s about how your body responds to the hormones produced by your placenta. It’s then managed partly by diet, but there’s nothing you can do to prevent it!

Vimto1991 · 06/04/2022 15:03

Ah man, seeing you guys working until late on in pregnancy is making me feel super guilty. I’m still planning to be off until baby’s first birthday, but I am eating into savings to be off at 35 weeks 😞

P.s if GD was based on diet I’d be screwed 😅

GrowBabyGrow · 06/04/2022 15:11

I'm seriously considering moving up my mat leave! Currently going until 38 weeks but I'm already SO tired. Had to have bloods taken because my feet have been unbearably itchy in the night so they are checking for ICP which feels scary and might make the decision for me as I'll likely need to be induced around 38/39 weeks if I do have it.

InvisibleDragon · 06/04/2022 16:07

I'm also planning to be working up to 38 weeks (hopefully with c section at 39 weeks - waiting on date). My job is not exactly physical though!

Thinking about it - I'll be 30 weeks at the end of this week, so that's only 8 more weeks max. Feels like nothing!

fpeg · 06/04/2022 16:19

@Esperer as @EarlGreywithLemon with lemon says it's not your diet, it's how hormones affect insulin usage in the body, so you have nothing to feel guilty about as there's nothing you can do to prevent getting it. It often isn't controlled with diet either due to this and people commonly end up on medication xx

Work wise I'm due on the 1st and am starting mat leave on 16th May at the moment. Only 3.5 working weeks left once I've taken the bits of annual leave I have. I've taken my annual leave at intervals and I'm glad I've not just tacked it on to the front of my mat leave as it's helping me recharge and keep going longer, I'd have had to stop sooner if I hadn't done it this way and I may still need to stop slightly earlier - this would be by going off sick which would automatically trigger my mat leave as it's within the last month of pregnancy.

imhereforthecake · 06/04/2022 17:16

@Octoblockisadick
Oh god. I can't even imagine.
I see my midwife next week, I was measuring 2 weeks ahead last time so I should imagine I'll be off for a growth scan.

SouthwestSis · 06/04/2022 17:16

@Esperer I had gestational diabetes diagnosed after sugar in my wee around 30 weeks. Whilst you're waiting to have your glucose tolerance test you can:
-Try and eat regular meals, don't skip breakfast and make sure you're drinking plenty of water
-pick lower GI carbs like brown rice, bread, pasta and be mindful of portion size
-When you do eat carbs (remember that includes fruit) pair it with a food that's higher in fat or protein like cheese, nuts or double cream.
-Oppo ice cream is lower carb than most, that and sugar-free jelly were my favourite snacks.
It won't affect the results of your glucose tolerance test if you start doing these simple things now.
The gestational diabetes UK Facebook group is great for advice if you do end up getting diagnosed.

annie1994 · 06/04/2022 17:35

Any plus size ladies got suggestions for where to get nice maternity clothes!? I’m a size 18 and can’t find anything flattering at all 😫 already felt like a right frump before getting my big old belly!

beansprout55 · 06/04/2022 17:49

@GrowBabyGrow same here re Snuzpod2. I was looking into getting a new mattress for it on Amazon but the reviews seemed to suggest it was rubbish and super thin - but it's such a popular crib so surely not? Worried now. What are you doing?

MrsTwentyNine · 06/04/2022 18:48

@annie1994 I haven't ordered yet but shein was recommended - their sizes go upto xxxl or something but I don't know how true they are

GrowBabyGrow · 06/04/2022 19:10

@beansprout55 we got a replacement mattress and material set from Snuz direct. Most reviews are really good and the mattress passes the safety checks so I think it'll be fine :)

Ditto. I'm using the old one as a garden chair cushion and it's certainly comfy enough for that!

Octoblockisadick · 06/04/2022 21:10

@Roxystar23 oh god could you imagine haha. I think I would have a full blown panic attack if there's 2!!

@Vimto1991 don't feel guilty! If I could go sooner I definitely would, I just don't have enough savings to be able to be off any longer so leaving sooner would mean going back sooner.

@GrowBabyGrow oh I hope it's just a coincidence and not ICP. If you get told you will be induced early would you move your maternity leave earlier?

@annie1994 @MrsTwentyNine I've had a couple of bits from shein and honestly they are decent quality, especially considering just how cheap they are. I've only had tops and a dress but they are really nice, I've attached the pictures I've got of the tops (admittedly from when my bump was a lot smaller!)

I've asked for a c section to be booked just before 42 weeks in case he doesn't arrive before then, which should be 11 weeks tomorrow. Trying to focus on that date as that should be the maximum I have left to go yay!

pregnancydiaries · 06/04/2022 21:17

Omg is trimester 3 meant to be this hard???? I don't know how I'll make it through another 9 weeks 😅

Due 10th too and doing the same, last day of work is 27th May! Have wondered if it's a bit late and should be starting a week earlier :(
Starbeach · 06/04/2022 21:40

I'm due the 17th and my official start of leave is the 6 but really it's the 1st due to the jubilee weekend but I'm considering bringing it forward too
