Thankyou @amorningperson.. I’m pretty sure we will find out although I’m pretty sure it’s going to be our third girlie. We will find out around Easter so intend to tell people around then.

@EverydayIsPJday I caved and done a nubologist… 80% girl surprised it wasn’t higher. On my scan I can see how the nub forks at the end xx

ShiningStarz · 19/03/2022 12:51

@SoOverThisCrap so sorry to hear of your losses. I can imagine it's a very stressful and anxious time. How many weeks are you now?
I'm 15 and all my symptoms have gone. I just have the creamy white discharge and that's it.

ShiningStarz · 19/03/2022 13:37

My linea nigra is back! Don't remember it happening this early in the last pregnancy but the think darkened line is visible between belly button and pelvis 😊

Carebear99 · 19/03/2022 13:43

@SoOverThisCrap I'm so sorry your previous losses. I'm 15w now but it's been anxiety inducing since I found out.

I'm 39, overweight and have been ttc for 20 years. I had accepted baby number 2 wouldn't happen and moved on, as much as one can. However I found out they I'm unexpectedly pregnant earlier this year. Since then I've self diagnosed an ectopic, blighted ovum, molar, continuing to worry about a missed miscarriage. I've had loads of private scans. I just wanted to say I get the anxiety your are feeling.

Pre pregnancy I suffered from panic attacks, anxiety and ocd and my pregnancy has exacerbated it.

Please take care of yourself and I hope Monday goes well x x

stimpyyouidiot · 19/03/2022 14:10

Oh god I am just so exhausted. I fall asleep at any given minute. Praying this lifts soon as I am just utterly useless. H is doing majority of stuff round the house.

ShiningStarz · 19/03/2022 14:57

@stimpyyouidiot I feel like this too, but like my first pregnancy it's caused by gestational diabetes. Hopefully hope that's not the case for you. I can barely stay awake last 8pm, I feel so tired 🥲

I was like this with my first tbh! Just got to power on through.

annlee3817 · 19/03/2022 18:59

@SoOverThisCrap so sorry about your previous losses, definitely worth getting in touch with the perinatal mental health team. Sorry to everyone else suffering with anxiety too, it's so hard, and still so many people that just don't get it and how hard it can be to control.

I'm terrible for catastrophising, running is my release and the thing that keeps me sane, but it's still there under the surface and I do get paranoid if my heart rate creeps up too high, worried I'm going to harm the baby.

SoOverThisCrap · 19/03/2022 20:06

Thank you for all the lovely messages. My family came to visit for the day, which kept me occupied! They also managed to tire out DD, which was good. I'm hoping I sleep well tonight and then I just have to get through tomorrow...

stimpyyouidiot · 19/03/2022 21:43

Today is the first day I've come close to having a good old cry which is pretty good considering I'm nearly 16 weeks. I've got raging hay fever, making me feel sooooo shit and tired on top of normal pregnant tired!!

On the plus side, it looks like my spots might be going. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/03/2022 07:54

Anyone thinking they will need a double buggy? I've seen the one we want and it's a bargain second hand but worried it's a bit early! What do you reckon?

annlee3817 · 20/03/2022 08:08

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I don't see an issue with getting stuff like that, I've been keeping an eye out for an out n about nipper second hand, have bought the carrycot so far and the newborn insert, and the car seat adaptors, so If I see one nearby I'll be going for it.

Carebear99 · 20/03/2022 08:24

I've decided to wait until I'm 30w to buy anything but everyone is different and I'm overly cautious

EverydayIsPJday · 20/03/2022 09:23

I would grab it @Whatelsecouldibecalled we stupidly got rid of our carrycot for our pushchair so if a cheap one comes up on eBay or similar I will be buying it. Will leave clothes etc until later on but the big ticket items I cant ignore of they're a bargain, need to save the pennies where we can !

Sazzy312 · 20/03/2022 09:37

I'd buy bits if it's cheap as you could always sale it on again worst case, can anyone recommend a double buggy, we will have a newborn and just under 2 Yr old

annlee3817 · 20/03/2022 09:55

@EverydayIsPJday do you ever use Vinted, I've only recently come across it and love it compared to eBay as it's all buy it now rather than bid. I got our carrycot for £30, cheapest on I saw on eBay was £50 plus and that was being bid on

EverydayIsPJday · 20/03/2022 10:19

Wow thanks @annlee3817 no I haven't I will take a look 🙂

EverydayIsPJday · 20/03/2022 17:37

@annlee3817 thanks so much for the tip, I didn't find any carrycot's on vinted today but I did pick up some nursing pyjamas for £1.50! (Plus £2 p+p) I'm dead chuffed 😁

annlee3817 · 20/03/2022 18:15

@EverydayIsPJday ah that's great, I'm slightly obsessed with that app at the moment 🤣

amorningperson · 20/03/2022 18:29

@stimpyyouidiot omg I am feeling SO exhausted too and have the added guilt of DH having to pick up the slack. It’s really getting to me. I find I’m so tired in the morning- to the point I can’t function until midday- 15 weeks tomorrow was hoping it would be better by second tri…

@ShiningStarz - that’s interesting , what other symptoms did you have other than tiredness? What was it like to have GD during pregnancy/birth if I may ask? I’m heading for the doctor on Wednesday to discuss the tiredness and breathlessness (wondering if it was my b12) and I’d turned down the glucose test as I had it last time and it wasn’t fun (I almost passed out walking home from the sugar crash and literally crawled into a donut shop )Blush

As for buying things- IMO if it’s a good second hand deal you can always just sell it on so go for it. I did actually buy a couple cute little matching PJ sets for DC and baby… on sale and just for fun ya know? We bought our first baby thing after our first scan last time and it was such a nice memory, browsing the itty bitty clothes with DH for the first time. I do get anxious about all the terrible possibilities too - we lost our first pregnancy in second trimester and I def started my second pregnancy with that feeling of ‘not wanting to get too excited’ and I barely told anyone until about 20 weeks … but I kind of decided to try my best to let go of the anxiety as it was stopping me enjoying my pregnancy at all and little milestones or purchases can be so much fun and like a bonding space for mum and bub… And not enjoying those things wouldn’t have prevented a loss… (this is just the thought process that helped me and I know it may have been different definitely harder if I had suffered multiple losses- it must be really really difficult to get out of that headspace .)

Anyone get slightly anxious about pregnancy weight gain going to fast? I seem to pile it on during first trimester but I’d like to not gain as much as my first pregnancy this time if possible (I put on 20kg / I had a healthy BMI, slimmish build) as i felt quite uncomfortable by the end (none of my maternity stuff even fit bar one skirt and my husbands T-shirts 😂) I promise it’s not about being super skinny or wtv it’s just more comfort and health I’m concerned about.

ShiningStarz · 20/03/2022 20:29

@amorningperson I didn't have any other symptoms at all, I was actually really shocked when my glucose test came back positive! I felt better especially after lunch when I stopped eating bread and had soup / salad for lunch instead. You can ask for a gluconeter to test your glucose 1 hr after you eat.. sometimes doesn't start though until after 28 weeks..

ShiningStarz · 20/03/2022 20:42

I think I'm getting flutter feelings today!! App says 15 weeks tomo but at my 12 week scan I was measuring 4 days ahead of 12 weeks.

madeleine85 · 21/03/2022 03:56

Just catching up here after a long weekend away with my in laws. I am exhausted! Could use a weekend away from my weekend away 😂.

@amorningperson I’m definitely gaining more this time and quicker. Last time I had HG and this time I don’t. I feel like I’m getting sciatica from the weight gain this early. It hurts to walk by the end of every day now at 16 weeks. Shooting pains down my left bum cheek and back of my thigh. Hoping it’s fixable but doubt it! If anyone has tips I’m all ears, please share! I’m 5’2, probably a size 10-12 uk, but I’m the weight I was last pregnancy near birth so maybe I just don’t carry it well. Need to investigate yoga maybe?

@ShiningStarz yay for the flutters!! It’s such a lovely feeling!

Two things from me

  • I have my cervical measurements 16 week scan tomorrow as DD was premie. I’ve never had this so I’m a bit nervous, and no idea what to expect.
  • I had what felt like real hard kicks for hours on end one day last week, it’s now been 5 days and barely a flutter. Im swinging between this is probably normal and was the weird feeling last week something going wrong. It didn’t help that I tried a home Doppler a few days ago, found nothing. I need to bin the damn thing 🤦‍♀️. This checkup can’t come soon enough!

Hope you’re all doing well, loving the gender reveals and 12 week scans here ❤️❤️

ShiningStarz · 21/03/2022 08:17

Lots of luck to anyone having scans this week.
I have a 16 week check up next week. Can't come soon enough!

annlee3817 · 21/03/2022 10:17

@madeleine85 my consultant did a quick abdominal scan first (although they didn't do that in my first pregnancy) then did the internal scan, they apply a little pressure to your stomach to ensure they get the right measurement of your cervix. For me it was less uncomfortable than having a smear, you can see the top of the babies head and sometimes a hand waving. Consultant was happy with my cervix, but put me on progesterone just in case, which I do just before bed. My next cervix scan is on Friday.

On the movements, I remember being told by a midwife at 23 weeks that they can tuck themselves up into corners, turn round and kick inwards etc which makes it difficult to feel them.

@amorningperson same as you, don't want to pack it in this pregnancy like I did with my last, I put on just under four stone last time, so much water though. Trying to keep active and eat healthy. Sorry to hear about your first loss 💐
