@EverydayIsPJday Aww congratulations to you. Yes your pic is upside down but your baby has the sweetest profile. The second picture you can see their little face. I was tempted to do a nub theory one but I already know it’s going to be a girl the more I’ve studied the scan pic. Xx

IzzyLeigh · 17/03/2022 18:25

@Sazzy312 what a beautiful scan!

@Carebear99 glad everything went well at the appointment. So sorry to hear about your fall though! I swear I’ve fallen more times since finding out I’m pregnant than I have in the past 3 years combined! Luckily I keep landing on my knees or another ideal (yet still painful) position. Fingers crossed we’re both done falling for the foreseeable future!

@TotoAnnihiliation what pillow did you get? I’m considered splurging for that BBhugme one I keep hearing people rave about. I kind of want it now but I suppppppose I should wait until I actually have a bump lol

@20viona ugh, I’m so sorry. I feel you get better ASAP!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled such great news! Congrats!

@Sazzy312 congratulations to you as well. What a lovely picture xxx

EverydayIsPJday · 17/03/2022 18:30

Thank you @Billymay. I always think I'm good at nub theory until I look at my own babies 😂 I already have two sons and suspected this would be another (which is absolutely fine as I adore my little ones) my parents already have 9 grandchildren (I am 1/4) of which 7 are boys, in fact the last five have been all boys in a row! But this scan today threw me..on the screen I thought boy, but in the pic I think girl 🤦 somehow I can't believe I can 'make' girls 😂 in any case it doesn't really matter but the curiosity is strong!

TotoAnnihiliation · 17/03/2022 18:36

@IzzyLeigh this is the pregnancy pillow that I bought. It's from Asda. amp.direct.asda.com/george/baby/baby-feeding/breastfeeding/kinder-valley-12ft-nursing-maternity-pillow/050297393,default,pd.html

Billymay · 17/03/2022 18:36

@EverydayIsPJday I’m with you there with the curiosity.. think we will have a private scan at 16 weeks… hoping the place do some Mother’s Day offers. Wow that’s a lot of boys in your family.. I have a brother so always thought I’d have one of each…
We are the other way though we only make girls. My husband would love a boy and for a second I did think it was as their skull looks so different from my last but when I look at this new one I swear I can see a vagina so I quickly reminded my husband that it’s his sperm that determines the sex. Xx

EverydayIsPJday · 17/03/2022 18:40

I do wonder though @Billymay if the sonographer took a screenshot a second or two earlier or later whether you would see something different 🤷 the images are always a bit sketchy! I guess we will have to wait and see 😊 so relieved this evening in any case, another box ticked on the journey!

Billymay · 17/03/2022 18:43

@EverydayIsPJday I feel exactly the same… relieved, happy and a little bit emotional as I know it’s the last time I’ll be attending a 12 week scan as my husband has asked for his p45 xxx

EverydayIsPJday · 17/03/2022 18:53

@Billymay same here. I am going to be having an c section again and we are talking about having my tubes tied at the same time 😬 a wierd thought right now tbh. I'm just going to try and focus on enjoying the pregnancy as much as I can (which is interesting as I am still abit nauseous and so bloody tired 😂)

I hope you're feeling alright, sending a hug 🤗 xx

IzzyLeigh · 17/03/2022 19:08

thanks @TotoAnnihiliation! It looks so massive! Do you find it takes up the whole bed or is that just how the pics make it appear? Either way, looks super comfy!

@Billymay and @EverydayIsPJday you guys gave me a panic at your mentions of Mother's Day! Apparently Mother's Day in the UK is in a totally different month than here in the US (ours is in May). I had never thought about it before and it really gave me quite a scare for a minute there! Very relieved it was just my ignorance though and that I hadn't forgotten to get my mom a gift! phew!

TotoAnnihiliation · 17/03/2022 19:27

@IzzyLeigh it is very large! DH shall have to sleep on the floor 🤣

annlee3817 · 17/03/2022 20:53

@IzzyLeigh that used to throw me, in South Africa they celebrate it the same as the US, but I couldn't cope with remembering both so used to send my MIL a gift on UK Mother's day and her DD would cover the South African one :)

I've got a dreamgeni pillow, was unsure at first, but I absolutely love it now, haven't had hip pain since after a few days of using it.

@Whatelsecouldibecalled great news!

EverydayIsPJday · 18/03/2022 06:52

Well, my nubtech report came in last night at 10pm (quick!) And they have also predicted a girl and say they are 90% confident (I've seen reports of 70%) I'm not off to buy pink clothes but it will be interesting to see in a a few weeks if they're right. I can post a screen shot of the nub diagram on my scan if people are interested (but obv not if people don't want to compare to their own!). Apparently it's accuracy is better after 12+5. My scan was 12+6.

Hope everyone is doing ok this morning 🙂

KatBee121 · 18/03/2022 06:56

@TotoAnnihiliation Thanks for sharing that link...Had no idea Asda did pregnancy pillows! But when they're that price it's worth a gamble...although I doubt my hubby will be too chuffed at having to share his small fraction of the bed with that as well 🤣🤣

Sazzy312 · 18/03/2022 07:55

I've found asda to be quite good on maternity clothes too, in my last pregnancy I wasn't very big so could get away with most of my normal clothes but I didn't loose all the baby weight before getting pregnant this time plus I've lived on sandwiches to keep me from being sick so I've had to buy loads already, I've still got my pregnancy pillow from last time but felt once I was in it that was it for the night so this time I've just used a normal nice pillow inbetween my legs and for me that works well and I feel like I have more room to move

Belle2210 · 18/03/2022 08:14

@TotoAnnihiliation

I bought myself a pregnancy pillow. Now I'm lying comfortably eating haribo tangfastics. Life is good!

My hips and knees are starting to hurt, I took that as a sign that I needed the pillow. No idea how DH will fit into the bed now 🤷‍♀️

Which pillow did you end up going for? I'm going to see about getting on next week 🙌

Nevermind I kept reading 😂😂

Em85kk · 18/03/2022 08:56

Hi guys, my little girl (4) now has covid. She was pretty poorly yesterday but seems a bit better today. It does mean I will have to reschedule my gender scan on Sunday so she can come with us! Bloody covid messing up my scans 🙄 I’ve avoided it for 2 years, but if I was ever going to get it, it’s going to be now. Keeping away from hubby was easy 😂 but not my little one

Billymay · 18/03/2022 09:29

@EverydayIsPJday wow that was quick and will be interesting to find out in a few weeks. I’d love to see a pic. Xx

Carebear99 · 18/03/2022 09:58

I have the asda pregnancy pillow, picked it up last weekend. Big packet as it's huge but great price for only £19

IzzyLeigh · 18/03/2022 10:20

@annlee3817 now that I’m realizing there are so many different dates for Mother’s Day around the world, I suggest that we all start capitalizing on this with our husbands. Why do I deserve breakfast in bed on this seemingly random day in October? Well it’s Mother’s Day in Malawi, of course!

@EverydayIsPJday congrats! Seems like we’ve got a lot of girls on this thread!

@Em85kk I’m so sorry to hear that your daughter has covid, but I’m glad to hear that she’s starting to feel better today. Still sucks about having to reschedule the scan though :/

Here we go @Billymay I think this is the best diagram. I sent off four scan pics so quite a lot came back with some text about their decision and what they look for etc.

Who knows! It comes with a caveat that the nub can lift until 12+5 (and be then more likely a boy) so I guess it depends how accurate the dates are too

Thank you @IzzyLeigh 🙂

ShiningStarz · 18/03/2022 11:31

@EverydayIsPJday lovely scan pic! It's amazing what you can see when they are so little!

I was all for finding out what I was having.. I didn't first time round.. but now I'm thinking it's pretty much the only element of surprise on the big day! I'll be having a planned c section.

@Carebear99 snap with the emergency c section before so I'm planning an elective this time. I actually want it to be during the week so little one is in nursery and there's no dramas around childcare etc.

Who posted about having tubes tied during a c section?? Didn't even realise that was possible. I was going to send my partner to get himself sorted after our next baby but maybe I could ask to have my tubes tied during the section??

I was having panic moments really all week thinking i want a scan and I'll book a private one! Partner reminded me that there's no bleeding, cramping or anything wrong so I was told to chill lol

annlee3817 · 18/03/2022 11:47

@ShiningStarz I had read that this is offered to women that have had multiple children and are over 35 if they are having a c section, said to my DH that if for any reason I have to have one I'll ask them to do it, otherwise I'll have the copper coil put back in at six weeks.
