Ahh lovely photo !

madeleine85 · 17/02/2022 18:34

@annlee3817 let us know how it goes tomorrow, good luck!!

@IzzyLeigh I think you're also in the US. Mine took 6 days to come back (taken on a Friday so that counts weekend). They said to expect a week, which it pretty much was.

IzzyLeigh · 17/02/2022 18:37

love the good news @madeleine85! congrats! what a lovely scan too!
and yes, US also. Have you heard that the turnaround times here are fairly consistent or is it more of a case-by-case thing?

@annlee3817 thank you and congrats on finding out you're having a little girl! 🥰
@madeliene85 what a lovely scan pic and so clear! Loving seeing all the 12w babies and all their little limbs waving about 😊

annlee3817 · 17/02/2022 19:17

Great picture @madeleine85 and if that's the nub I can see it matches up doesn't it :) pointing up

madeleine85 · 17/02/2022 19:17

@IzzyLeigh they seem pretty consistent (I was told 7 to 10 days max). There are 2 big companies who run them, so i'd expect around a week as well. Mine was done with Horizon/Natera, and I think Harmony is the other big one who runs them.

Is it just me or does anyone else's nausea seem to change on a daily basis...like mine lasts all day regardless but I've noticed it varies, not just in intensity but how it feels. Today feels like a hangover nausea (more manageable as I'm used to hangovers 😂), but on other days it's felt like a constant state of starvation no matter how much I eat, indigestion type nausea, or even really bad travel sickness. Keeps me on my toes, but on the plus side it does seem to have eased slightly the last couple of days (I'm 10+3 now) so hopefully that means it's on its way out 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Yes!!!! Mine is exactly like this too! I'm 9+1 and have felt a bit more human the last few days. My paranoia has ramped up though so I've booked a scan for tomorrow evening.

Pahahaha I actually sneezed and then read this!! But I have just got out of isolation from Covid with a very snotty nose so 🤷‍♀️
TotoAnnihiliation · 17/02/2022 21:24

I'm constantly sneezing. I looked it up in my first pregnancy and it's something to do with expanding blood vessels in your nose. Sexy!

IzzyLeigh · 17/02/2022 21:29

@TotoAnnihiliation almost as sexy as the nosebleeds I've been getting from this too haha
Not quite nailing this glowing thing yet

@stimpyyouidiot oh, I meant to ask about that. How are you feeling? much better?

OP posts:
stimpyyouidiot · 17/02/2022 21:51

Yeah I feel ok. Still a bit breathless when walking fast or lifting weights. But alright. Just glad to be out. Feeling so sick today though which is unusual for me.

KatBee121 · 17/02/2022 22:47

@TotoAnnihiliation awww bless ya. I wouldn't stress though that it's easing. Mine did trick me at around the 9 week mark as I had a couple of days feeling fairly alright, but then it came back with a vengeance for a few days 🙈😅 certainly won't miss it when it's gone 👋🏻😂

Just joining the new thread 🙂 x

MrsG2021 · 18/02/2022 08:51

@IzzyLeigh I’m sneezing quite a lot more than normal too - thought it was just me!!

Goldencrisp · 18/02/2022 09:00

Good morning guys , just joining in here... I'm currently 10+6 with an unplanned pregnancy , this will be my 4th baby ( eternally grateful) I am 33 and already have 3 daughters 15,5 and 3 , I'm still getting over the shock of being pregnant as I really didn't expect to have anymore! I work part time have done since my youngest 2 snd had a plan in place to go back full time in September as they will both be in school but now it looks like I'm having a baby! I have been with the same company for 11 years and I just dread to know what they are going to say/think! My anxiety is so bad and I keep crying (think this is mainly due to how rubbish I'm feeling) I just don't know how ill cope financially or mentally! Sorry if this sounds insensitive as I know your all so happy to be pregnant and worrying about certain things ( been reading the thread since day 1) I don't even know what to think, I know so many ppl with judge me but I think I'm already judging myself as it's hard work managing everything as it is! Anyone else pregnant with an unexpected pregnancy and already having a big family ? How are you coping! I hope ur all ok anyways snd congrats to you all! Just to add also I've not taken any folic acid bar 3 tablets as it's been making me extra sick and I've not even booked in with a midwife yet! :( xxx

Firsttimemummy91 · 18/02/2022 09:00

Hi everyone!

I am currently 11+6 weeks pregnant and this is my second pregnancy. Unfortunately my first ended with a mc at 8 weeks but I am very excited for my current pregnancy.

I wanted some advice regarding retching. I had it for the very first time this morning after drinking some water (I blame the fact that I was sitting in an awkward position and drank water super fast). I am feeling ok now but have not eaten yet as I am scared I might vomit. Any advice? Thank you in advance

IzzyLeigh · 18/02/2022 10:43

@Goldencrisp Congrats on your pregnancy! You don’t sound insensitive at all. Your work concerns and worries about juggling everything are totally valid. Why are you worried about what your work will think of you though? If you value them enough to stay with them for 11 years, then hopefully they have earned that loyalty by treating you right. I suppose this would be a good opportunity to test that. If they react negatively, would you want to stay with them anyway? Regardless, I have a feeling everything will be fine! Anyone who judges you can eff off. You're better off without 'em in that case anyway Wink
Definitely try to work in that folic acid though. Maybe talk to someone about how sick you are feeling and maybe they can give you something for the nausea so that you can keep the folic acid down?

@Firsttimemummy91 hello! Totally feel this. I feel my worst when I drink water on an empty stomach, especially if I drink it fast (literally just did this even though I know what it does to me haha). I’m sure others will give better advice and that you already know this, but try nibbling on a cracker or something when you wake up and then drink the water slower. That should probably help. And congrats on the pregnancy!

@Dreamer30 good luck on your scan today! getting ready for mine now. Fingers crossed for both of us Star

Just got home from my scan and appt! Heartbeat still going strong (now at 171 bpm) and my little one is measuring at 9 weeks, just one day ahead of what we expected. Wiggling all over too!
During my pelvic exam, the doctor said I do still have some cervical ectropian present and that could account for the spotting I've had, so I'm feeling very reassured on all fronts Grin
Hope everyone else's scans today also bring good news and reassurance Flowers
