Hey all,I've been keeping quiet as had a couple of miscarriages so never like to join a group till a safer time, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow had two early scans all OK but got my 12 week one tomorrow, so nervous (had mmc) before. Today I've had a lot more sharp feeling twinges, I guess it's all just stretching but has anyone else had this around 12 weeks?

I'm 15 weeks and for weeks I've felt sharp twinges and feeling like it's all stretching out etc.
annlee3817 · 16/03/2022 15:36

Hi @Sazzy312 also get twinges on and off, I'm 16+1, some weeks more than others. Hope all goes well with the scan tomorrow

ShiningStarz · 16/03/2022 15:39

Welcome to the group @Sazzy312 sorry to hear of your previous losses. Iv definitely been having twinges and stretching and itchy bump! Think it's all part of the ligaments (that was the case in my last pregnancy).
Glad youv had the early scans for reassurance and I am sure your clinic will be keeping a close eye on you.

madeleine85 · 16/03/2022 15:41

Hi @Sazzy312 I got the twinges a little at 12 weeks, a lot at 14-15 weeks, and the kicks started yesterday bang on 16 weeks. Seems to have calmed down today, but good lord, yesterday that child kicked me day and night constantly. I was very worried this will be the next 6 months. I could feel it through the skin! Once you feel movements, hope you can relax a wee bit x

Sazzy312 · 16/03/2022 16:07

Aww thank you @madeleine85 for your response, oh wow 16 weeks that would be amazing I felt my son at 18 weeks so be nice if I can feel this one a bit sooner :)
Thanks @ShiningStarz for the warm welcome, good to hear your experiences
@annlee3817 thank you for your message about my scan and nice to know you had twinges 👍
@stimpyyouidiot, thanks, nice to know I'm not the only one getting twinges :) I guess as long as no blood its all good signs

Oooooh this is exciting!! First baby so I've no idea what things feel like although I did think I'd felt some flutters. Wondering now when I'll feel proper kicks 😊😊 I'm 15 +1 just now.
Whatelsecouldibecalled · 16/03/2022 21:05

My toddler has JUST gone to sleep. Like JUST now. Confused

madeleine85 · 16/03/2022 21:33

@Whatelsecouldibecalled toddlers are both the best thing in the world and also the worst! Mine had a stomach bug and was off daycare the last 2 days, but hasn't been able to keep any food down, so hasn't slept well at all. I somewhat resemble something from the waking dead! Wish we were able to resolve our toddler stresses with a glass of wine... 6 more months! Enjoy the sleep though :)

ShiningStarz · 17/03/2022 06:56

I feel the ones with toddlers!!! I have to go to bed at 8 most nights just to have energy the next day!!
I'm 14.5 weeks today, it's been 2 weeks since my last scan and iv 2 week wait until my next. Haven't felt movement (although I know it's too early). Tempted to book a private scan just for peace of mind. Anyone else in same boat?

amorningperson · 17/03/2022 07:57

Hi everyone!

Just joining now - I'm due Sept 13th (but I went over by 2 weeks with my first so I've been saying 'some time in September if anyone asks :P) So am about 14 weeks today. I have a 4 year old DC already who's amazing but hard work of course! I felt rotten until about week 13 and now feel so grateful to not be nauseous all the time, still a bit tired going to bed at the same time as my son Smile.

I WFH 2 days a week right now, I'm actually a nurse but I've been taking a break and doing a more admin style role since January which is when I found out I was pregnant so that worked out okay, though my SMP will be way lower than if I had been working full time (worth it as I get to be with my little one for a good amount of time before the second one comes!)

I saw a couple of vegans in the thread - HELLO! I am also plant based though I was encouraged by our midwife to eat some dairy and fish to lower the risk of allergies in the babe. So I have some maybe once a week/every couple weeks.

Anyways I wanted to say hellooooo and I'm looking forward to joining in, been reading through the thread this morning whilst DC watches telly :/

This is exactly how I feel. I had my 12 week scan exactly a week ago and have a private scan booked for 3 weeks. I've felt slight movement but my paranoia is at all time high. I've also woke up with a pounding headache, I'm taking myself back to bed.

Welcome to the group! I have a 4 year old already. I feel guilty because I've not spent much time with her since becoming pregnant as I've been so ill.
stimpyyouidiot · 17/03/2022 08:07

@amorningperson hey! I also have a 4 year old and went 2 weeks over first time 😁

annlee3817 · 17/03/2022 08:55

Welcome @amorningperson and congratulations :) I've got a 6 (almost 7) year old, so I think I have it easier than others

Celyn22 · 17/03/2022 10:10

@amorningperson thank you for sharing you comment above! My dad’s partner has a child with loads of allergies as well as having a horrible reaction to the measles vaccine which put him in hospital. She believes the allergies were due to her not eating those foods/food groups while pregnant, so I’ve been making an effort to eat as much variety as possible. It’s good to hear that your nurse recommended it. I’ll pass that on!

I’ve been a strict vegan for 10 years till last year when my body gave me an obvious calling for eggs, which i’ve sourced well so I can enjoy eating them. I never thought i’d eat dead bodies again till I was on a rough stormy ferry ride a few weeks ago, and my body (or baby!?) gave me an obvious calling for white fish! It was so challenging getting it in my mouth but it was something I wanted to do for my baby, and now i’ve had it a few times, I’ve actually come to enjoy it. I’m aiming for once or twice a week to eat it, which my soul feels is good.

I do believe it’s totally possible to have a healthy vegan baby, so please don’t take my words as anything more than my experience.

Happy Thursday to you all!

IzzyLeigh · 17/03/2022 10:34

Welcome @sazzy312! Good luck on the scan! And welcome @amorningperson! Always nice to have new people!

Morning girls. So after no sleep last night we had our scan this morning. Baby is well but wouldn't cooperate for their measurements and I also found out I have a fibroid. Due date is what i thought 28/09/22. Anyone care to guess the gender?

Due September 2022 (Thread 4)

@Billymay it attached to both posts for me! congrats on the lovely scan!
I have no idea what to do with guesses, so I'll just sit that part out haha

annlee3817 · 17/03/2022 10:51

@Billymay I'm guessing boy, glad the scan went well

Billymay · 17/03/2022 10:51

@IzzyLeigh typically I look now and its attached 🙈 So glad everything is ok, can finally breath but sad as this is our last baby so the last 12 week scan. Xx

annlee3817 · 17/03/2022 10:54

Intrigued about the allergy comment, I was lactose free before I got pregnant with DD, and switched to normal milk etc in pregnancy, mainly for calcium, hate the taste of normal milk though. My DD was lactose intolerant, so didn't help me, but her Dad was too as a baby, so probably genetic. I've not bothered switching this time and sticking to oat milk, I do have cheese occasionally and eggs though.

Chlox16 · 17/03/2022 10:55

@Billymay Congrats Smile I'm gonna guess a baby girly x

TotoAnnihiliation · 17/03/2022 11:32

@Billymay congratulations- I think girl. I have no way to back up my theory over than a feeling.
