@Vimto1991 @MrsTwentyNine I’m getting kicks, bubbles and rolls here. Bubbles are usually very low down in my pelvis whereas kicks are generally higher up and can see my belly push out. Rolls are the weirdest feeling for me especially when I can see them move in a big ripple. Weird but I’m so in love!

Welcome to the new ladies and congratulations.

24 week midwife appointment and private scan here tomorrow. Trying to focus on the excitement and keep the anxiety at bay.

PleaseSendNoodles · 15/02/2022 00:25

Okay, after saying I would catch up tomorrow, I couldn’t sleep so read everything now! Glad your scan went well @Annabell1 - great news about the placenta moving!

I managed to meet up with my husband (who’s away with work for a very long time) for a couple of days. It was so nice and he managed to feel baby moving 💕 But now he’s left again and I am feeling so alone and bereft. I know I’ll be okay in the morning but it’s just hard tonight. I have my very late ‘20 week’ scan on Thursday so trying to look forward to that, despite being nervous. Sorry, I don’t know why I rambled all this. I just needed to get it out, if that makes sense. Hope you’re all sleeping better than me tonight!

hellointhere · 15/02/2022 03:14

I bumped into an acquaintance today and they immediately asked me if I'm pregnant. So, now I have to confront the fact that I definitely look pregnant and have been kind of in denial about looking pregnant, I thought I was hiding it. They were very happy so it was nice.

Lostintranslatio · 15/02/2022 06:39

@PleaseSendNoodles I also have my scan on Thursday (I'll be 21+1 then). And I can't wait. Someone here very pissed off with her daughter 😑 I felt her yesterday very subtle at breakfast and no more. Nothing at all for the rest of the day. Nothing. I was going insane. I felt three fainted kicks in the night but I can't relax 😑

Lostintranslatio · 15/02/2022 07:00

Sorry for double posting. How are you all managing with work and covid? I have been wfh for the past two years (the best 2 years of my working life 😂) but on Monday I have to go back to office. I had a hybrid system for a briefly period of time during the summer and I plan on telling my director (not asking 😂) that I will keep doing that. However I'm sick worried about going back as I'm sent to the busiest and crowded office of the company and commuting involves three hours a day on a train (I also don't know how I'm gonna managed this with the fatigue that accompanies me since my BFP). I feel very overwhelmed at the moment.

pregnancydiaries · 15/02/2022 08:00

Congrats on the scan news @Annabell1 💗

@JAR1981 I also have my midwife appointment today and full of nerves, I'm 22 weeks but seems to be when it's done in Scotland. Can't wait to hear baby's heartbeat though - good luck!!

xxx

pregnancydiaries · 15/02/2022 08:01

@PleaseSendNoodles how lovely that you got to meet up with your husband, that truly is special. I can't pretend to understand what you're going through with him being away. My brother is also military and I know how difficult it is for us when he's on tour, never mind for his partner. It must make the time you do have so special and I guess you just have to cling on to those memories while he's away ♥️ the pregnancy hormones won't help I'm sure, we are always here xxx

pregnancydiaries · 15/02/2022 08:03

@Lostintranslatio 3 hour commute to a busy crowded office does not sound like it should be passing any type of risk assessment. Depending on your relationship with your director could you just have the chat and ask to continue full time from home for the remainder of the pregnancy? Explain you'll be more productive that way rather than exhausted and anxious from the travel. Alternatively go through HR or occupational health? I definitely think if you've shown you can work from home for 2 years there's no reason why you can't for another few months xx

PleaseSendNoodles · 15/02/2022 08:48

@Lostintranslatio I know it’s hard but try not to worry. It’s still early for regular movements. Hopefully you get some reassurance at the scan tomorrow! I’ll be thinking of you while I’m at mine. And as @pregnancydiaries says - that doesn’t sound right them making you go back to the office!

@pregnancydiaries good luck today. Let us know how it goes. And thank you for being so kind. I think I just needed someone to get it and agree it’s hard 😂 You’re right, it was so so special and I just have to be grateful for that time together… until the next time! 💕

Lostintranslatio · 15/02/2022 09:15

Thank you ladies ☺️

@PleaseSendNoodles it is so difficult. I try to think that she is very small or that maybe the placenta has moved and it is blocking the movements, but sometimes my mind goes crazy. It is funny because I thought I would relax once I heard a HB, once the NIPT would come back good, once my 12 week scan went good, once I felt her... But no😂😂 Welcome to motherhood Lostintranslatio!!! 😂😂😂😂

@pregnancydiaries unfortunately I don't think it is an option wfh. That is what I'm going to say I'll keep doing some days from home (and build up my case because after maternity leave I don't want to go back to office daily). I was gutted when I read emails as other companies in my sector have implemented a hybrid system, but mine is requiring going back full time.

Prema112 · 15/02/2022 09:26

@JAR1981 & @pregnancydiaries Good luck with your appointments today!!

@PleaseSendNoodles Hope you're feeling better this morning, it must be really tough without your hubby physically with you ❤️ You're doing so great!!

I just had a call with my specialist midwife, asked her about movements. She said definitely come in if baby is moving less or not at all for a day (even at 24 weeks) but not to worry if you can feel baby move but the movements have changed. Mine have gone from big kicks to more like twitches lower down and I've realised it's most probably because he has gone back to breech position so all the kicks are in my pelvis again. He's moving a lot today so I'm not worried but thought I'd share this advice as it's different from the 'before 28 weeks' advice I've heard.

Prema112 · 15/02/2022 09:29

Ladies with children already, do you ever worry how you will cope with 2 (or more)?! My son was in our bed most of last night in pain so no one got much sleep. Luckily I'm off work today but I was having visions of being sandwiched between a feeding baby and a crying child in a few months 😬😬 We will get through!

SouthwestSis · 15/02/2022 09:41

@Lostintranslatio if your work are not being supportive of adapting your work around your pregnancy and risk assessment then you could ask for a fit note from a GP to specify amended duties with them recommending wfh.
They should be happy to do this especially in 3rd trimester when your risk from covid is highest.
By then your booster jab may well be wearing off and it doesn't look like the UK is going to offer another booster at the moment.
It's not worth putting your pregnancy at risk to keep work happy so do what you need to do, worth talking to your trade union also.

fpeg · 15/02/2022 10:14

@Prema112 @Lostintranslatio just had my 25 week midwife appointment and she said that babies can take up to 32 weeks to really properly establish a pattern, so not to get stressed by it. Also to call if there are any concerns regarding no movements at all. Hope this helps 💚

Annabell1 · 15/02/2022 10:33

@PleaseSendNoodles I hope you are feeling better this morning. That must be really hard not seeing your husband for such a long time. But at least you managed to see each other for a few days. Sending you a hug. Hope your scan will go well on Thursday. Do you know what you are having or do you want to find out? ❤️

@Lostintranslatio I completely know what you mean. We also have to go back to the office soon and I'm not looking forward to it either. It's difficult as some people are so enthusiastic about it. Definitely have a chat with the director, maybe you can really continue to work from home at least 3 days a week. All the best for your scan. X

Thanks @pregnancydiaries ☺️
Good luck to everyone that has an appointment coming up. Xx

Thank you @Prema112 and @Annabell1 I am feeling a lot better this morning, predictably! I just need to get home and get back into my own little routine. It’s funny how much seeing him disrupts my independent woman vibe 🤣 Your encouragement means so much to me though, honestly! 💕

We already know we’re having a girl because I was given NIPT testing as standard by my provider and it included sex! But it’s a secret haha. We’re not telling anyone 🤫😂

@prema112 it definitely sounds like it’ll be a transition going from 1 to 2. I’m a FTM so no idea how women make it work but you’ll find a way!

Clueless22 · 15/02/2022 11:16

Anyone keep spontaneously crying 😢? I went from laughing to crying yesterday ... what's that all about?! Assuming it's our lovely hormones butting heads with each other.
I'm in a job that I hate at the moment which doesn't help, if I wasn't pregnant then I would be looking for another job now. Feel so trapped as there's no way I can look now as maternity pay would go from awful to non existent. DH keeps telling me it's only a few more months left but it feels like an age. I'm in fortunate position that I work from home but I'm beginning to think it would be better if I had people around me for company... wouldn't be able to sit crying in front of a monitor if that was the case. Unfortunately it's not really an option to work in an office as I'm based down South and clients are in North and would mean extensive travel and overnight stays which I don't fancy right now.
Sorry for the rant, feeling sorry for myself lol
Bring on June when the most important role of my life will begin, that of mummy xx

JAR1981 · 15/02/2022 11:16

Hi ladies, just back from my midwife appointment. Seems we are all hearing different things from our midwifes however mine said that a pattern will still be establishing and not to worry so long as I’m feeling daily movements at this stage. She expects a pattern to establish at 26 weeks and that’s when I should monitor for changes.

She also checked the heartbeat which took forever as baby kept kicking the Doppler and they did not like her gently squeezing to check position 😂. Heart rate she said was normal at 132 which Dr Google says is low side of normal so good job I have a scan this afternoon and can ask about it there so I don’t go into a spin!

@Annabell1 great news on the placenta

@PleaseSendNoodles lovely that you got to spend some time together and he felt the kicks but it must be so hard with him away all the time. My husband has the odd week away including next week and I find just that difficult. Will he be home for the birth do you think?

@Lostintranslatio sorry to hear your work are expecting you back in full time. I agree with other ladies that it’s worth a 121 with your director to discuss, particularly as you get further into pregnancy a 3 hour commute (not to mention on a potentially COVID ridden train) is not sustainable and most people would recognise that. Hope your director can show some compassion. When do you intend to finish up for mat leave?

aus12 · 15/02/2022 12:10

@Vimto1991 my baby looked like it is blowing bubbles during my 20weeks scan. We took some pictures of the screen & they show the movement of the bubbles which is pretty cool!

Vimto1991 · 15/02/2022 12:11

@aus12 that is soooo precious!! 🥺🥺 mine just had their hand in their mouth 😂

Brightsmoke · 15/02/2022 13:46

I keep getting forgotten about when new threads tag people, will try to keep up more from now on Smile

Hope everyone is ok and those with covid aren't suffering too badly. I'm struggling with sleep but otherwise OK :)

Northofthebordermum · 15/02/2022 14:38

Finally had my scan at 20w6days. Not quite as straightforward as I would have hoped!
All looked fine except the sonographer thought there may be some blood in the babies bowel so I've been referred to fetal medicine and have an appointment next week. She said she was being over cautious though so am trying not to get too worried. I had a small bleed yesterday (i think brought on by straining to go to the loo - damn this constant constipation!). So she said it could just be that the baby has swallowed some blood.
But also I'm rhesus neg so now i've also got to have an anti-d jab ASAP just in case.
Added to that, I told her my DS had been 9lb 2 and she has now referred me for a gestational diabetes test at 26 weeks. No one has mentioned this before - just presumed i had a big baby as both me and DH very tall?? So now I'm worrying about that too! BMI normal so again hope she is just being overcautious.
Overall NOT the morning I was expecting!

Annabell1 · 15/02/2022 14:51

@PleaseSendNoodles I'm glad to hear you are better already. Yes, having your own routine really helps. 😊
@Brightsmoke Oh no, I apologise. I tried, but I'm sure I must have missed a few others too. But good that you found us. Xx

Sorry, that wasn't a dig, but reading back it sounds worse than I meant it to 🙈. No one's remembered me yet so you're in good company 😂

pregnancydiaries · 15/02/2022 14:57

@PleaseSendNoodles us ladies are always here to support you 💗 I've spoken to my brother and his partner a few times about them thinking of starting a family and they just can't seem to get "the right time", he'll either be away for the pregnancy or away for the birth both times you need them. Will your hubby make it back for birth? Or at least some time after little one is here🤞🏼xx
