@Northofthebordermum I was told at my 12 week appointment that I would be refer for a glucose test at second trimester. Not very sure why as I don't have any history/precedent of diabetes. Maybe because of my age?

@PleaseSendNoodles Oh! My OH used to travel a lot and I would use those days to cook/watch what I wanted, going gym and taking care of me in general. However I'm delighted the pandemic stopped this routine and I really hope he does not have to go back to travel so much.

pregnancydiaries · 15/02/2022 14:58

Ladies talking about movements...just adding my bit in after speaking to midwife about this today.

Usual don't expect a pattern until around 26ish weeks + BUT any changes at all or anything that doesn't feel right just to call triage right away. She said that we all know our own bodies and not to hesitate xxx

Prema112 · 15/02/2022 15:35

@Clueless22 Yes! I'm crying at such small things at the moment, super sensitive. I'm also losing my temper very quickly, I think it's when I'm subconsciously worrying about the baby. Hoping both these things will change at I get further along. So sorry to hear about your work, such a horrible feeling to be in a job you hate even if it is only for a few lore months. Really hope it gets a bit better for you. Have you got any AL coming up?

Thanks for the movement advice @JAR1981 @fpeg & @pregnancydiaries I think I'm gonna go with ringing up if I feel much of a change, they can also tell me it's fine over the phone, better to be over cautious.

@Northofthebordermum Sorry to hear the scan didn't go quite as you imagined, really hoping it's just them being over cautious but I'm sure it's worrying, thinking of you.

@aus12 that's so cute!! They wouldnt let us take any pictures at ours, amazing that you have some!

GrowBabyGrow · 15/02/2022 16:01

I just rang triage because I feel like I've felt less clear movement in the past couple of days than before and am now more confused than before. The midwife was really nice but was basically saying at 21 weeks its quite normal to not have a pattern and baby might have just moved etc but its up to me and I have choices if I don't feel reassured by that I can come in to have the heartbeat checked but because the scan on Friday was fine and its still early for movement its probably fine but there are no guarantees...

At the time I said I felt reassured but now I'm thinking about it and worrying and think maybe I should have said I'd go in for a check Confused

annie1994 · 15/02/2022 16:18

@Prema112 I’ll have around 22 months between my eldest and this baby when they’re born… I’m worrying so much about how I will cope with two! 😂

Last pregnancy I got myself in a state around 26 weeks because I thought I hadn’t felt him for a while. The triage midwife was lovely and checked heartbeat. Everything was fine and was mainly for my reassurance. Definitely best to be safe, so instead of worrying at home alone I would just give them a call!

PleaseSendNoodles · 15/02/2022 18:06

@JAR1981 @pregnancydiaries Hopefully he’ll be back 3 or so weeks before my due date! 🤞🏻 Here’s hoping baby doesn’t get any ideas about coming early! 🤣💕

@Lostintranslatio Yes! Staying busy really is the key.

pregnancydiaries · 15/02/2022 18:09

@GrowBabyGrow go go go!!!! If you have any doubts then go in and don't worry about changing your mind from earlier. There is zero point in worrying - go and listen to that sweet baby heartbeat!!xx

Lostintranslatio · 15/02/2022 18:15

@GrowBabyGrow if you have the option, pop in and listen to the HB.

BunBun221 · 15/02/2022 18:37

@Lostintranslatio (I thought there used to be an n at the end of your username!) So I do have a high BMI but my trust actually do Blood Glucose tests now as standard for all mums at the 25-26 week mark so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Lostintranslatio · 15/02/2022 18:50

@BunBun221 I was not allowed to add the n to my nickname (I guess because of the title of the movie 😂).

My BF had the glucose test too. Not overworried about it, just curious as she felt rubbish after the test. Anyone has any experience with this glucose test?

DaimDillyDoo · 15/02/2022 18:50

Found you guys! Thanks for the tag ❤️

DaimDillyDoo · 15/02/2022 18:52

Does anyone else hate cooking since being pregnant? I just want to pick at stuff, not eat a full dinner, but DP is a useless cook and does his fair share otherwise so I have to make sure he's fed!

Turniptracker · 15/02/2022 19:04

@DaimDillyDoo I'm 23 weeks and definitely going through a hungry phase where I'd eat 2 dinners if I could! I made a lemon drizzle cake on Sunday and I've all but finished it on my own, oops...

Vimto1991 · 15/02/2022 19:09

@DaimDillyDoo I had this soooo bad up until mid January. I still get days where I just want to snack and not have a big plate of food. 😦 I have cried at the idea of making and eating dinner during this pregnancy. 😂

CurryandSnuggle · 15/02/2022 20:13

Oh my gosh, not been on mumsnet for a few days, come back to find we’re thread 8 already!!! Grin

CurryandSnuggle · 15/02/2022 20:14

@Turniptracker gosh I’m ridiculously hungry like that too!!

InvisibleDragon · 15/02/2022 20:38

@Prema112 and @Clueless22 I'm also sporadically emotional and tearful. Watched the first episode of "This is going to hurt" a few days ago and was in absolute bits. Really don't recommend watching that show while pregnant!

Just to add to the confusion over movement ... Saw my midwife for 22 week appointment yesterday and she said that between weeks 24 - 28 the baby is "establishing" a pattern of movement, so should be expecting lots of variation. Although they do encourage you to come and get checked if you think there is a big change. So it's all a bit of a muddle really!

Annabell1 · 15/02/2022 21:02

@Brightsmoke All good Smile
@Northofthebordermum I'm crossing my fingers for you. Hopefully all is well. xx

It's good to hear the different opinions about the baby establishing a pattern. I probably have to start paying attention a bit more.
But I think mine is usually quite active when I wake up and in the evenings.

Wow another thread!!! On the hunger.... I'm so hungry from waking up until 4ish! Then I've just been having a cupasoup for dinner as I cant stomach a meal in the evening yet I cant wait for breakfast and lunch!

needarainbow · 15/02/2022 21:32

@InvisibleDragon @Prema112 @Clueless22 Another sporadic crier here as well 🙋‍♀️ We also started watching 'This is going to hurt' in a feeble attempt get DH to absorb some info about what the birth can be like😂. We've been enjoying it up until today. I've put on tonight's ep and it hit a bit too close to home. A couple lost their baby and were told no heartbeat while we're sitting here with a candle lit for our angel baby whose due date is today. Cue the rest of the evening hysterical crying! These preggo hormones are wild!

Octoblockisadick · 15/02/2022 21:41

@Prema112 I'm worrying a little about going from 1 to 2. My daughter will be 4 when baby is born and still comes into our bed pretty much every night. I'm also thinking I love her so much, how will I love another the same which I know is stupid! Can't help it every so often though haha.

@Clueless22 yes with the crying! I'm so emotional all the time haha!

@Northofthebordermum oh I hope it's nothing 🤞. I'm having a diabetes test at 26 weeks too, had it in my last pregnancy and it was fine.

@DaimDillyDoo I'm the same! I would rather snack constantly than eat a "proper" meal.

Turniptracker · 15/02/2022 21:43

Is anyone experiencing aches and pains now? I find the very tops of my thighs and my groin are very achey and mildly painful when I move about now. I also often feel like my undercarriage is going to fall off when I stand up. Is this standard?!

MrsNT · 15/02/2022 21:51

@turniptracker im getting aches in ribs :(

MrsNT · 15/02/2022 21:52

Has anyone had a 25 week appt with GP? What is it about and what is covered in it

Octoblockisadick · 15/02/2022 22:23

@Turniptracker I keep getting pains in my Bum cheeks! I'm thinking baby is on a nerve or something. I'm also generally quite achy and tired. Not looking forward to it getting worse. Hopefully it will stay as it is
