I had a sharp pain under my right ribs for about ten seconds then a bit of an ache, I think baby had moved there briefly. I’m getting much smaller movement in my lower stomach at the moment so maybe they are punching me and kicking my upper stomach. I have anterior placenta so can’t feel as much I guess if they have moved! I always panic if I haven’t felt them in the morning, and if I can concentrate it’s teeny movements today.
Wish we could get an at home ultrasound 😂😂

RoseValleyRambles · 13/02/2022 08:56

I'm also usually a side sleeper too, but staying on my left side is proving tricky!

Last night I could physically see a bit of my bump poking up where baby was pressing against the side. So cute! Not sure if it was foot, bum or head tho..
Hope he's got enough padding in there!

Lostintranslatio · 13/02/2022 08:56

Thanks for the new thread ladies! Happy Sunday!!

pregnancydiaries · 13/02/2022 09:24

Thanks for the new group @Annabell1 ♥️

@Letsbekindplease ME! This has been happening to me since the beginning of trimester 2 and it is awful. I had an internal examination done for something else and she said my pelvic muscles were actually strong so im gonna hope it's only for the length of the pregnancy....but keep doing the exercises anyway xxx

pregnancydiaries · 13/02/2022 09:28

@RoseValleyRambles I was obsessively worried over only sleeping on my left side but my friend who is a midwife sent me this picture and said that is why NHS say right side is ok too, because risk is so small. So now I alternate between the two and it's a little bit less traumatic although still hard on the hips!!!xx

Didn’t know there was any risk to side sleeping, I just know not to be on my back 😦 I wake up about four times in the night and have to roll from left to right and vice Versa because the pain in my hip becomes unbearable. I also wake up on my back and have to roll over. Normally tug a ligament on the way and silently scream as not to wake up DH. 😭

EarlGreywithLemon · 13/02/2022 09:35

@Letsbekindplease definitely! To be fair, I did have leaks before from the previous pregnancy and birth but they’ve definitely got worse now. I definitely can’t get away without wearing liners now.
Post birth I think I’ll have to go back to using my pelvic floor machine again for a while…

Vwaryloth · 13/02/2022 09:36

Hello everyone! I'm totally new here and just registered after reading many different threads. I'm due on June 1st with my first, which is a little girl!
I thought I'd just introduce myself before I join in on any conversations. 😊 xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 13/02/2022 09:37

@unknownscot how are you feeling now? Since you have symptoms it might be worth getting a PCR. My husband never tested positive on any lateral flows, but was positive on PCR.

Due on June 21st 🙈
Vimto1991 · 13/02/2022 09:52

@Vwaryloth heya! Welcome to the most talkative bunch on mumsnet 😂

RoseValleyRambles · 13/02/2022 09:57

@pregnancydiaries That's super useful. I read a study suggesting the same, but reassuring to see the NHS confirming it.

beansprout55 · 13/02/2022 10:03

@EarlGreywithLemon what pelvic floor machine do you use? I've just started thinking about the birth and doing some reading (a little late I know!) and now I'm eager to strengthen my pelvic floor as much as possible to avoid an episiotomy. I'm going to try to stick to just gas and air too, if possible!
The main reason being is that we're going to start trying again when baby is 1, so I'm determined to bounce back as quickly as possible - with some hard work!

Keen to hear recommendations on pelvic floor exercises or tips from anyone??

pregnancydiaries · 13/02/2022 10:08

@Vimto1991 don't panic, I think that the studies about right side are so few and far between and if anything scaremongering. Just gotta stay off our backs!!

@Vwaryloth welcome and congrats on your little girl - we are due date twins however I will be a planned section probably around a week or two before!

@RoseValleyRambles I think if we google we can find anything we don't want to, it's a dark scary world 😂

ChildOfFriday · 13/02/2022 10:14

@Turniptracker Glad yours went well too! We really liked the Uppababy Cruz as it seemed by far the easiest to fold of the ones that we were shown and also quite intuitive in what everything does. It's a bit more expensive than we were hoping for though. We weren't shown any Joolz prams- we might go and have another trial session before making any firm decisions so I'll have a look for that one if it's simple and lightweight, as that sounds like what I'm looking for too Smile

ChildOfFriday · 13/02/2022 10:16

@Vwaryloth Welcome and congratulations!

Lostintranslatio · 13/02/2022 10:25

I've been doing breathing exercises for core and pelvic floor, and planning on seeing a women's health physio in this trimester to check up pelvic floor pre birth.

I never slept on my back but there was a time during pg that I needed to sleep on my back, it was awful! Now I sleep changing from the left to the right side.

Vwaryloth · 13/02/2022 10:48

Thanks for the welcome wishes everyone!

@pregnancydiaries Is there a particular reason why you are having a planned C-section? Personally I think I will go for a vaginal birth if I can but totally open to a C-section too if I needed one.

Littlemilomoo · 13/02/2022 10:58

Thanks for the tag Smile

We are really struggling with baby girl names..
We are 100% on Harrison if it’s a boy but still not set on anything for a girl. I know we still have plenty of time but it’s stressing me out not having a girl name yet lol.
Our top two are Rylee and Harley. I have a feeling we won’t know until we meet him/her.

Anyone else struggling with names?

unknownscot · 13/02/2022 11:25

@EarlGreywithLemon
Yes went for a PCR yesterday morning. Negative 👏🏽
So just the common cold which is great news, still feeling rotten though. Another day on the sofa watching rubbish and drinking hot juice!

4thtimethecharm · 13/02/2022 11:55

Esperer, JAR1981, just wanted to thank you both for responding to my question on the injections on thread nr 7. I am relieved to hear that I am not the only one struggling there. Hope you are both doing well, and the injections are doing their job.

Prema112 · 13/02/2022 15:28

Finally bit the bullet and went from a bra fitting. I've been wearing 34DD, the lady fitting me took one look at my current bra then went off and found me 36HH Blush No wonder I've been wanting to cry whenever I put on my old bras, new ones are sooooo comfy GrinI'd recommend a fitting at bravissimo for anyone needing it, it was great!

Vimto1991 · 13/02/2022 16:32

Oooh nice Prema!
I bought some maternity bras which is more like a gym top, can be used for breast feeding too. Not sexy or anything but oh my god so comfy. I haven’t been wearing bras for awhile as nothing fits, and find when my nipples get cold they hurt so much 😂 so thankful for these!

Vimto1991 · 13/02/2022 16:37

Has anyone got pushy ILs? My MIL keeps badgering me about what we want her to buy. I told her we still weren’t sure. She said she saw a cot in Next she wants to buy us. I told her we measured up a three piece the Tutti Bambini one in Argos (which is actually £400 cheaper than the one she’s seen in next), when I told her we like the Argos one and it’s cheaper she said, ‘but I want the best for my grandchild’

Idk if it’s my hormones but feel like she’s insinuating I don’t want the best for MY child? Simply because the nursery furniture is cheaper from Argos (and not necessarily any worse than the next one).
Proper stressful she is. 🙄

Rolledthedice · 13/02/2022 16:44

Me too @Prema112! I went yesterday and finally upgraded my too-small sports bra and got a ‘daytime’ bra. I really like sculpted cups rather than non-wired lace, so I’m hoping my boob size stabilises a bit as there is some room to grow but not loads.

My friend who has kids said to hold off on buying nursing bras until baby is here in case I end up bottle feeding. She said she was “tits out, ready to go” for first few months and hardly wore a bra. 😂

Also on subject of nips - is anyone else getting tiny pimples on their areola? I had one that was painless and thought it was chapped skin, kinda like a skin tag.
