@beansprout55 I used this in my rehab after our daughter was born (recommended by the physio) www.kegel8.co.uk/kegel8-ultra-vitality.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiApaXxBRDNARIsAGFdaB96VFTNc7-G2rHPlGnBHS8zBwfo6stOhFFsGf-Nm8p8CJ63Eo0tXhQaAmAYEALw_wcB
Not sure if it can be used during pregnancy though.
I also had an extensive pelvic floor programme from her- I remember the focus was as much on the tightening as on releasing it with good control. I found that much more difficult. I did tightening and releasing the back passage, then the vaginal and then the urethra in several positions - lying on my stomach, on my side, sitting and standing. I can try and dig up her notes if helpful?

beansprout55 · 13/02/2022 17:44

@EarlGreywithLemon notes would be so useful and appreciated if you manage to come across them! Going to look into that Kegal8 right now! Thanks!xx

Is anyone considering buying a breathing monitor? I hear mixed reviews. I'm super anxious about SIDS... my sister had one and got on well with it, I'm worried it will increase my anxiety though. Undecided.

JAR1981 · 13/02/2022 18:48

Thanks for the tag @Annabell1. just catching up!

Welcome @Vwaryloth

@Vimto1991 are we the same person? I could have written that about sleep pattern myself :(

Good news @unknownscot on the negative PCR. Hope you feel better soon.

@4thtimethecharm no problem! I’m gonna ask my midwife I can inject somewhere else at my appointment on Tuesday so will let you know.

JAR1981 · 13/02/2022 18:53

@Rolledthedice bumpy areola here too. They got really painful and then went dry and scabby a couple of weeks ago so now moisturising them before bed. Why do we not hear about these symptoms before we get them!?

@beansprout55 it’s crossed my mind but also worried that it could make me more anxious. I think I might see how I go without initially especially with them sleeping right next to me. Have you found any good articles/reviews about them?

pregnancydiaries · 13/02/2022 19:07

@Vwaryloth unfortunately I need to have a section for medical reasons as I have a kidney issue so I'm gutted about not being able to try vaginal, something so strange about driving to the hospital one day knowing that's the day you're having a baby 😂

TowerStork · 13/02/2022 19:16

@Vimto1991 Uh, I hate comments like that and the implied sneering towards everyone else who doesn’t buy ‘the best’. I mentioned to a colleague that I was buying some second-hand things and he looked at me in total horror as though only a neglectful parent would do that. Some people confuse the ability to buy things with caring. Harder to ignore with your MIL obviously, but it’s your baby and home so you should get to decide what you need. Can't she give you a set amount to buy what you want?

Vimto1991 · 13/02/2022 19:21

@RubyRoss I think we could persuade her to do that but she’d probably get upset (she’s a bit snobby!) it is annoying to feel judged, especially when we have constant doubts if we are doing the right thing!! Luckily for me she lives an hour and a half away so it’s not constant contact, I just hope she’s not annoying when we have the baby, too. 😅
There’s no shame in second hand, far more eco friendly, too! And save money to spend on baby in future, too!

GrowBabyGrow · 13/02/2022 20:02

Completely relate to the IL judgement on cots. Mine have offered to pay for the cot and the one we really like is from IKEA. My FIL is so anti IKEA though and very 'furniture should only be made from solid wood'. But trying to find a completely solid wood cotbed that isn't silly money or needs an unusual size mattress is so difficult. And we really like the ikea one.

Would be so interested in this. Thanks for the replies today. So glad I’m not the only one who’s sprung a leak out there. Not sure if I jinxed myself but today has been terrible. I’ll not be leaving the house without a sanitary towel that’s for sure. Thought I was was quids in not having to buy them

ALHCTPS · 13/02/2022 21:52

@Letsbekindplease me too. I didn’t have this when pregnant with my first, and pelvic floor returned to normal after the birth and I had n9 problems, but the pregnancy hormones seem to have made everything loosey goosey. I’m paranoid I smell of stale pee like a really old lady. And I had to shove Beloved out of the way last night so I could throw up in the bathroom sink (too much Deliveroo) and I wet myself at the same time. Oh, the glamour. Pregnancy sucks.

ALHCTPS · 13/02/2022 21:57

@ChildOfFriday the Uppababy Cruz is excellent. The cot thing is breathable, so you can use it as a Moses basket, and you can fit a decent grocery shop in the bottom it’s so capacious. And it’s not as low as some of the others, which is great if you and your partner are tall or have back problems.

BunBun221 · 13/02/2022 22:33

I 100% agree with @prema112 and totally recommend Bravissimo for a maternity fitting!

ChildOfFriday · 13/02/2022 22:54

Thanks @ALHCTPS- good to hear some real life experience of it! The breathable carry cot that can be used as a Moses basket was also one of the main pluses for us.

Prema112 · 14/02/2022 09:05

Morning ladies. Gosh I do find it a bit stressful monitoring movements, I don't know about anyone else? Yesterday I haden't felt baby move since the morning and was getting a bit worried. Then he moved in the evening but not as much as usual, then this morning but again not as much as usual. Luckily I have a week off so just had a bath and he started kicking more but I find it hard to determine what 'decreased movement' is. Is it less kicks, weaker kicks or both/either?!

fpeg · 14/02/2022 09:23

Morning everyone and happy Valentine's Day to all you beautiful mammas and mammas to be! 💚

I've brought out the big guns this morning (see photo) 😂

@Prema112 my understanding is they tell you not to worry until week 28 because they don't establish proper patterns until then. I've loosely got an idea of when she is more likely to move but I know it's still variable right now so I don't worry about it 💚 (24+5)

Lostintranslatio · 14/02/2022 09:25

@Prema112 I am also unsure about it. Especially because I feel the baby but very irregular and subtle. I try to think it is very early to feel a pattern but interested in reading what you all comment on this matter.

Rolledthedice · 14/02/2022 10:44

Glad I’m not the only one @JAR1981! What moisturiser do you use? I think I will start using some at night.

@Prema112 as fpeg said, we don’t need to be worrying about counting movements etc until week 28, as they are too variable atm for a coherent pattern. My midwife said if you’re really worried about not feeling any movement then try 1) drinking ice cold water, 2) have a snack and if still nothing then drink a can of full fat coke. I’m just letting baby be until I get further along and trying not to worry about it. I’m sure your little one is very happy in there. 💜

mrkb · 14/02/2022 11:13

@Prema112 I've been wondering this too - sometimes it's like she's having a party in there and then other days I don't even feel pregnant - she's been very quiet this morning! Reassuring to read some comments not to worry too much until week 28 - I was doing a google and could only find things saying from week 24 (though I also had 28 in my head, I was beginning to think I'd made it up)!

Also have a week off this week so had been thinking I'd try to be really mindful of her movements so I can start to get to know her patterns.

annie1994 · 14/02/2022 11:14

Hello everyone, I’m due my second boy 29th June so just make it into this group! I already have an 18mo boy. I am in the July group (by my LMP I should be due 2nd July) but came across this group and can’t believe how talkative it is Smile

JAR1981 · 14/02/2022 11:27

@Prema112 variable movements here too. Sometimes a non stop party and other times a lot more subdued. I tell myself that’s when they’re channelling all their energy into growing instead :). I have a midwife appointment tomorrow though and this is on my list so will let you know what she says. The leaflets I was given last time say monitor after 28 weeks however I think most trusts will bring you in for a check from 24 weeks if you’re concerned about reduced movement.

@Rolledthedice I’m just using my handcream as it’s an intensive one and is organic so no nasties. I’m sure there are special ones you can buy but I didn’t really see the point. The only thing I think you need to be careful of is not rubbing it on your actual nipples as stimulation can cause premature labour.

Clueless22 · 14/02/2022 11:46

Just watched the super bowl 🏈 half time show and my little boy was having a right little bop around to it ... seems to be a big Eminem fan lol

Clueless22 · 14/02/2022 11:47

Welcome @annie1994 x

BuffyFanForever · 14/02/2022 11:54

Hi All can I please join the group. I’m 22+1 with twins due 19th June. Anyone else feeling abit sore all over?!

Vimto1991 · 14/02/2022 12:21

Welcome @annie1994 and @BuffyFanForever we certainly are a talkative bunch! 🙈

Has anyone felt a bubbling sensation in their stomach? Feels like the babies blowing bubbles or farting in there 😅 no idea what they’re doing. It’s pretty fast bubbles so don’t think hiccups although I did read maybe thumb sucking.

fpeg · 14/02/2022 12:42

@BuffyFanForever @annie1994 welcome 😁

@Vimto1991 YES! I actually feel this quite a lot but had just assumed it was my, currently, rubbish digestion! Much prefer the idea of thumb sucking 😁

@BuffyFanForever not sore (but then I'm only having one baby!) definitely feeling very full a lot of the time and extremely bloated.
