@shelly1812 It's ridiculous how some people are caught up on the whole having one of each thing. I know loads of families with 2 boys and sometimes the brothers have such a lovely bond, plus logistically you can hand me down a lot of stuff.

I know the scan wait is agonising but it'll soon be here. I've struggled due to previous losses too but since my 20 week scan I have relaxed a bit so hopefully you can too.

Beth262 · 31/03/2022 09:52

Sorry to hear about your losses @Shelly1812 - I'm very similar to you. Two losses before my DS, one before this pregnancy too (no period in between) and now also having a boy. I've had the 2nd prize feeling. My partners grandmother acrually almost cried when we told her we are having another boy and my SIL told me she was gutted because she already had lots of pink things in various baskets online 🤯
At the end of the day you, your partner/husband and DS are over the moon at a another DS so sod everyone else!

That should be actually rather than acrually obviously! But yeah, I guess it did feel a bit cruel too!

Had our foetal medicine appointment- baby’s kidneys measuring perfect today! Consultant had no concerns at all. Nuchal fold measured smaller today as well.
All that worry for nothing but so glad he checked everything out and feel totally reassured! And some lovely pics too 😊 hurray! Might celebrate later if I can stop feeling sick! ☺️

@CoalCraft ha amazing that they rearranged for a sooner slot!! Hope it’s all gone great! X

squatternutbosh12 · 31/03/2022 10:13

@Shelly1812 it’s awful that anyone would say that about your gorgeous new son! Ignore them, he’s 100% a first prize lovely baby and he will be loved to pieces, so like Beth says - sod the lot of them!
I’ve had a couple of people (even midwives!!) make comments like “oh boys are a handful” - which seems stupid I definitely see just as many little girls as boys having tantrums and being little mardy bums! Their personality is nothing to do with what’s between their legs 😊

squatternutbosh12 · 31/03/2022 10:17

@Beth262 got my wires crossed a bit- it was you with the upset grandmother/sil- my sympathies to both you and @Shelly1812!

Good luck to everyone awaiting their scans!

Beth262 · 31/03/2022 10:56

@squatternutbosh12 So so glad to hear the foetal medicine scan went well this morning! As you say, worry for nothing but you have that reassurance now so hopefully you can start to relax and enjoy. And definitely treat yourself later (sickness permitting!) x

@Shelly1812 I can really relate to you saying you’re too nervous to buy even a little outfit 😔 I’ve experienced a devastating loss too and I still can’t bring myself to buy something for this bubs, as much as I want to. The baby carrier I wanted was on sale for last week only, and I missed out because I felt like I would jinx things if I bought it then 😩 there’s also some gorgeous rompers I want from Next, and I think their sale starts tomorrow and I’m so torn whether to buy them or not. Pregnancy after loss is no easy journey that’s for sure!

I’m so pleased to hear everything was ok @squatternutbosh12, what a relief! Definitely worth a little celebration later ☺️

CoalCraft · 31/03/2022 12:44

So scan went well! Very cooperative little baby so it didn't take too long, which was good as my bladder was about to burst! But all measurements done and all looking good, thank goodness. Am just grinning from ear to ear.

It's a little girl! So my dd will be getting a little sister 🥰

ToCaden · 31/03/2022 13:03

@CoalCraft yay. Congrats on your little girl!!!

Isonthecase · 31/03/2022 13:31

@Beth262 @Shelly1812 it's funny isn't it? I was freaked out about having a second boy as I'd not known any 2 boy families well growing up and had no idea how it worked but it has been absolutely lovely and I'd highly recommend it ☺️ the comments are annoying though! Still getting them about this one being a girl and honestly I think I'll be a bit disappointed either way as 3 boys or 2 boys and a girl both sound lovely and either way I miss out on one 😂

Isonthecase · 31/03/2022 13:32

To clarify not sure what it is yet, everyone else seems to just hope it's a girl for me and I'm being very firm about being happy with either

SantiagoSister · 31/03/2022 14:07

Congratulations @CoalCraft, glad everything went well! Another little girl too, how lovely 💗

Shelly1812 · 31/03/2022 21:12

Glad to hear 20 weeks scans went well and congrats on your baby girl.

Yeah I'm finding it really strange the reaction to be our little 1 being a boy, I can't wait to meet him and his big brother is bursting at the seems to meet him!!

I'm hoping with more movement I start to enjoy my pregnancy and everyone else too experiencing anxiety x

surprised12 · 01/04/2022 20:02

Hey everyone!
Happy Friday!

Been having such a strange feeling today - it's happened twice.
When I stand up, I gets really heavy weight sink to the bottom of my tummy - and it's such an awful feeling.

Is it the baby being forced down when I stand up? I nearly rang 111 today when it happened because I got such a shock :(

squatternutbosh12 · 01/04/2022 22:22

@surprised12 I’ve had that, mostly if I’ve been sat down for a long time or if I need a wee! Not sure what it is, but it seems to right itself. If it’s painful you could chat to your midwife? As mine isn’t painful it’s just a weird feeling. Hope you’re ok anyway.

By the way guys, mosey on over to thread 3! This one will get to maximum posts allowed soon so Beth started a new one:

Thank you!!

It's not painful, it's just bizzare - feels like all my insides have just sunk to the bottom of my stomach!

I wish there was a book to tell you what is normal and what isn't! The most confusing time ever isn't it?

Isonthecase · 02/04/2022 18:02

@surprised12 unfortunately normal is different for every pregnancy! It'd have to be a long book...

mamaof2girls · 04/04/2022 07:04

Anyone else experience really sore at the top off the belly like under your boobs kinda. I know it's nothing to do with baby as the baby is no where near there think it's just everything shifting upwards but am on day 2 now and it's so uncomfortable tbh I do remember it with my other 2 but just really uncomfortable this time and actually making me have a sicky feeling! X

Celyn22 · 04/04/2022 09:21

@mamaof2girls maybe repost your message to the new thread :) see you over there!

P.s i’ve not been sore there but I have been itchy! I think it’s as everything grows and stretches... is it surface level sore or deeper on your insides?
