Good luck for tomorrow @ToCaden, hope everything goes well. Can really sympathise with you feeling nervous beforehand!

squatternutbosh12 · 20/03/2022 21:57

Oh yes @ToCaden there’s me blathering on about my disappointing oesophagus - what I mean to say is GOOD LUCK tomorrow!

Delight12 · 20/03/2022 22:20

Hi everyone, I'm really struggling ATM I had my 20 week scan on the 11/3 which went great I'm having a little girl but the last few days I'm just thinking something is going to go wrong and it's getting me down, I haven't felt baby move at all I do have an anterior placenta so that's probably why. I'm probably being silly and everything is fine just needed to get this off my chest

Ems2208 · 21/03/2022 07:04

Hi everyone hope you’re all feeling well,
I am 18 weeks and feeling totally fine, this is worrying me, my daily sickness has stopped and don’t have any obvious symptoms. Other people say I have a bump but I feel like I just look bloated! Have my 20 week scan in 2 and half weeks. Really worried, tempted to book a private one now before for reassurance but that seems silly.
Does anyone else feel the same?

squatternutbosh12 · 21/03/2022 07:25

@Ems2208 hi, I felt the same at 17 weeks- got all worried and paranoid for absolutely no reason and booked a private reassurance scan for about £60. Obv not something can afford to do every time i feel worried but it really helped that day. That was only ~3 weeks before 20 weeks scan (which is next Monday!) I say go for it if it’ll put your mind at rest, but if you’re like me with the worrying maybe do make a pact with yourself that you won’t do it every time you’re stressed!

@Delight12 sorry you’re feeling stressed too, can sympathise. I find the reassurance from a scan only lasts a couple of weeks then I’m back to fretting Grin I have anterior placenta too and I try to let that reassure me why I’m not feeling movements yet. I think it’s normal to feel like this, we’re bound to worry until they’re here safely.

Well actually I guess we’re bound to worry about them for the rest of our lives.. but one step at a time eh? 😂

squatternutbosh12 · 21/03/2022 07:28

@Ems2208 also meant to say- totally normal not to be feeling any symptoms at 18 weeks, loads of people’s sickness has vanished by this point. Ditto re bump- again people ‘pop’ at different times. My bump isn’t huge and still just look kinda bloated at 19.5 weeks!

Delight12 · 21/03/2022 09:39

@squatternutbosh12 thank you for your message, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm hoping once I start feeling baby move I will be less stressed and start to enjoy my pregnancy. you're right about worrying about them for the rest of our lives lol.

squatternutbosh12 · 21/03/2022 12:14

I keep getting notifications that someone has posted on the thread - the last one says 19 seconds ago so definitely new - but can’t see any posts since 9.39?
Anyone else? Confused

Disappointing oesophagus Grin

Just back from twenty week scan. All the things the doctor managed to check were fine, but baby insisted on chilling out under my bellybutton which means I'm back in around a week to see if they're in a position they can see the last bits clearly.

Baby also insisted on keeping their legs tight together so not sure about sex, but he thinks possibly boy.

To be honest I'm just glad baby is still alive in there. I've been pretty good at thinking the best, but got a little worried right before scan.

SantiagoSister · 21/03/2022 14:44

Great news @ToCaden, so pleased all went well for you today. Nice you get to see baby again in a week too 😊

Beth262 · 21/03/2022 15:19

Fab news @ToCaden, glad all they could see today looks fine.

Hi all, only just caught up on the last few messages on this page of this so I’ve undoubtedly missed a lot. I hope everyone is doing ok.

Jumping on to tell @PopGoesBang that the Bravado body silk bras have 20% off! So I’ve taken the plunge! (Pun intended)

@squatternutbosh12 I’m also in the two week cycle of wanting scans. My last one was 4th March and my 20 week is 4th April. Just feels like so long. I’m with you @Ems2208 and don’t have many symptoms apart from being bloated and tired. Nausea has finally passed! 🙌🏼

Feel like there are A LOT of August/September babies. Obviously everyone on here but loads of my friends and friends of friends too which is so exciting. My best friend and one of my colleagues are just a few weeks behind. 🥰

Thrilled for those who are having such great 20 week scans at the moment. Counting down the minutes for mine!

PopGoesBang · 21/03/2022 17:00

@netflixandnochill ha! I ordered my second one next week after putting it off for ages. Should have waited!
Hope you find them as good as I do. I honestly think they are so comfy. And they wash well on a 30 on the machine.

Scan on Wednesday. Looking forward to it and feel apprehensive at the same time.
Still only feeling muffled movements but they feel very similar to last time so assuming I have an anterior placenta again.

Looked down this morning and couldn't see my feet - so that's fun!

PopGoesBang · 21/03/2022 17:01

Not next week, last week. 🤦🏼‍♀️ baby brain strikes again! Sums me up lately 🤣

madeleine85 · 21/03/2022 17:32

@Ems2208 some days I sound just like you. I am 17 weeks tomorrow, and occasionally I look big, but its just water retention/digestion. Days like today I look like i've just eaten one too many burritos. No one would give up a seat on public transport for me (tbh I wouldn't either). I just look a little chunky!

@netflixandnochill I feel like a lot of my friends are suddenly announcing August babies too. Exciting times :)

Good luck everyone with their 20 week scans this week! I feel masses behind, just had my 16 week cervical measurements internal scan today due to DD being a premie, but i'm 17 weeks tomorrow. It was hear a strong heartbeat. I had a day of masses of movement one day last week, and then nothing at all since, so that has calmed my nerves a lot!

Grin I forgot what a elastic band was called a few days ago. Spent ages just staring at it trying to remember what it was. And I am the owner of two cats who adore elastic bands and always manage to find some to bring to me to play fetch with, so it's not like I'm unfamiliar with them!
positivevibes22 · 21/03/2022 19:14

Hi all 🙂 Good luck to all of you who have their 20-week scan approaching 🍀🍀🍀 Mine is tomorrow and I'm considering having whooping cough vaccine. Was just wondering if any of you are planning on doing it too?

Isonthecase · 21/03/2022 19:25

How exciting on all the 20 week scans going well, lovely news ☺️

madeleine85 · 21/03/2022 19:32

@positivevibes22 I had it with my last pregnancy (it lasts 10 years). Absolutely no side effects, very worth doing in my opinion. Just make sure to tell the place vaccinating you that you are pregnant so that they use the pregnant person version (no live infection or no egg albumen or something different from memory). It was recommended that both myself and my DH get it, so worth mentioning to him too.

positivevibes22 · 21/03/2022 19:44

@madeleine85 that sounds reassuring 🙂 Thank you so much 🥰

squatternutbosh12 · 21/03/2022 20:08

@positivevibes22 I got it at 16 weeks! Whooping cough is really dangerous for babies to get when they’re v young, and for the 8 weeks before they’re old enough to be vaccinated against it themselves the only protection they have is the antibodies that crossed the placenta from you having a vaccine. I got a bit of a sore arm from it but didn’t feel unwell or anything. So yeah I’d recommend it :)

PopGoesBang · 21/03/2022 20:15

@ToCaden Grin brilliant! It's the fact you know it and still struggle. Far more 'where's the thingy' lately, covers everything that way!

Beth262 · 21/03/2022 20:15

@positivevibes22 You've just reminded me that I need to book my vaccine too so thank you very much! My surgery messaged me about a month ago and I'd completely forgotten. Hope the scan all goes well tomorrow.

I got mine at my 16 week appointment, sore arm for a couple of days but other than that it was ok x
Shelly1812 · 22/03/2022 09:09

Good luck to all the 20 week scans! Still 19 days to go! (Boo!!) x
