Seems so far away just now 🙈😂! Wishing this pregnancy away x

Cakecakecheese · 22/03/2022 11:42

My scan is on Thursday. I'm starting to get a bit anxious about it now.

madeleine85 · 22/03/2022 14:02

@Cakecakecheese good luck for Thursday, I am sure it will be fine, but totally understand the jitters x

Beth262 · 22/03/2022 14:29

@Cakecakecheese I'm Friday and equally as anxious.

"Only" 9 days to go for me. Still feels like an eternity!

squatternutbosh12 · 22/03/2022 14:45

Sending lots of positive thoughts to everyone with scans coming up soon! Mines in 6 days 😬

ToCaden · 22/03/2022 14:55

Wow. Lots of scans coming up. Good luck guys. I understand the anxiety. Thought I'd left the scan anxiety behind at dating scan, but it hit unexpectedly when 20 week scan loomed.

SantiagoSister · 22/03/2022 15:43

Good luck to all with their scans this week! Completely understand the anxieties, it’s awful. Hoping you all get great news and feel more reassured very soon 😊

How do people deal with pregnancy feeling so long? 20 weeks today and struggling to imagine how I can get through another 20, I'm so anxious due to previous loss around this time last year

With my little boy I felt the same, it dragged in until about 28 weeks then it flew past! I'm wishing my pregnancy away just wanting to get to the end for sage delivery of a wee baby, we'll all keep each other going 😊😊 x

I completely understand this as I feel the same. I had a late loss in my last pregnancy and I am just wishing time away so I can get this baby here into the world quicker so I know he’s safe. It’s a horrible way to feel as we should be enjoying pregnancy, but pregnancy after loss is a whole different ball game!
CoalCraft · 23/03/2022 09:07

@Madferit I know what you mean too, I feel like I've been pregnant forever and it's hard to imagine going through that length of time again. I do honestly think though that the second half will be easier because you have so much more feedback. Early pregnancy feels like a black box where all you have to go on is a line on a test and maybe a couple scan pics, but later on you can feel baby moving and can regularly listen on the heartbeat. Of course, having a previous late loss must make everything so much harder for you, but I really hope the anxiety will start to ease for you soon xx

Eeee we have just felt baby boy’s first proper kicks- from the OUTSIDE!! Wasnt expecting to yet because of anterior placenta- but it was so so cool! Husband was thrilled to be able to feel him too 🤗 wowza it’s all feeling really real now!!

I know right!!! Felt a kick from outside for first time yesterday. It's an amazing feeling. Baby seems to be a shy kicker and keeps moving elsewhere when I feel a possible baby movement and try to feel from outside, but managed to catch one.

I found it amazing how feeling it from inside at this stage you think it feels like a muscle twitch maybe and do the is it or isn't it baby, but when they kick against your hand it's a definite thump.

squatternutbosh12 · 23/03/2022 11:26

@ToCaden yeah definitely- right up until this point I’d been thinking ‘this might just be gas..’ - it’s so nice to feel something and KNOW it’s baby! And also has helped me relax about upcoming scan a bit too- obviously still anxious to hear that there aren’t any health concerns- but at least he’s letting me know he’s ok in there now!

I know what you mean about shy kicker - it’s like we caught him doing it once or twice then he crossed his arms and went ‘well I’m not gonna do it anymore if you’re WATCHING ME!’ 😂

Isonthecase · 23/03/2022 11:29

You think this is long just wait for the last few weeks, I swear the few days I was overdue last time lasted at LEAST a decade 🙈

CoalCraft · 23/03/2022 12:15

I haven't been officially told but assume I must have a posterior placenta as baby has been kicking my hands through my tummy for a while now - it's such a lovely, reassuring feeling 😊

18+4 and 8 days to go till scan!

mumforfirsttime · 23/03/2022 13:25

Hi everyone, this is probs a tmi post but thought you guys would be the best to talk to. I have had terrible anxiety the past few weeks that I just can't seem to shift. Earlier this morning I went to the toilet and wiped, there was a lot of discharge (although I have had a lot of discharge this pregnancy) but the strange part is it was a very pale orangey colour. Totally freaked me out! I called the midwife and she said it doesn't sound like anything to be worried about apart from if it turns into blood. I have been back to the toilet since and it seems to be a "normal" colour again but now I am worried every time I go to the toilet just incase. Anyone had anything similar?

miltonj · 23/03/2022 15:23

Hi everyone... had 20 week scan yesterday and we're having another GIRL 🥰🥳 I was honestly quite shocked, I was convinced it would be a boy. Very happy 😊 congrats to everyone else who has recently had 20 week/found out sex ☺️

@mumforfirsttime anxiety is so heightened during pregnancy sometimes isn't it? How many weeks are you? It's reassuring that midwife isn't concerned. Keep a close eye on it and call midwife back if anything else xx

ToCaden · 23/03/2022 16:24

@miltonj congrats on your little girl!!!

PopGoesBang · 23/03/2022 18:28

Baby wasn't playing ball today, so not all measurements could be completed - Altho everything appeared fine so now waiting for a re-scan appt. Could t even find our which sort as cord was between legs covering everything.
Bit deflating as you build it up to getting answers and I got not a lot - not even pictures from today.
Dd gutted as she was excited to know if she had a little brother or sister but she's been pretty good about it and has said it won't be much longer, not like waiting for the actual baby. Which is a fair point!

Close but not quite there just yet!

Cakecakecheese · 24/03/2022 15:04

I've had a rough couple of days so I'm beyond relieved that everything was measuring fine at the anomaly scan tody. Was told he's a big baby but we were expecting that. I know it doesn't always pan out that way but both my partner and I are tall and were rather big at birth.

@popgoesbang Ah it's nice you get to see baby again soon but frustrating to not get all the measurements and find out the sex.
theotherfossilsister · 24/03/2022 15:35

Hey, been quiet for a bit with terrible anxiety but it's been lovely to catch up a bit and read the thread.

Eighteen weeks today and have to have surgery next week after all as my humerus hadn't made any improvement and one of the bones is very close to a big nerve. I don't feel ok about it at all but in excruciating pain.

I'm also seeking a good perinatal counsellor, has anyone else had luck finding one?

Fetal anomaly scan in Tuesday and twenty week scan is the following Thursday.

Love to all others who are having a frightening time in pregnancy xx
