Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

I’m planning to tell once we have the OK at the reassurance scan just in case. Can’t wait to hear how everyone else’s went. I just wish I’d get some symptoms to help reassure me until the scan, funny that I actually want to be sick 😂

Leibee87 · 19/02/2022 10:54

@Poppybloom55 feel exactly the same. Happy to be/feel sick. My parents /best friend /work knew before we had our reassurance scan in the week so telling MIL etc today. Only cause I know we would need the support if anything was to happen anyway. Not planning on telling aunts /uncles etc till 12 weeks though.

CLP86 · 19/02/2022 11:14

@Curlywurly3 I can't seem to access the Facebook group through the link - it just takes me to my own newsfeed
Can you add me if I give you my name?

Poppybloom55 · 19/02/2022 11:25

@Leibee87 how was your scan? Have you had a lack of symptoms? The most worrying for me is the only one I did have which was sore boobs came and went within 48 hours so that’s got me concerned. Pre scan anxiety is the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced!

Fruby · 19/02/2022 11:50

How’s everyone’s symptoms going?

Since I hit 6-7 weeks I feel really rotten!

I’m constantly nauseous, but also hungry, super strong food cravings for Jordan’s country crisp & satay sauce 🤣 (not at the same time) and also food aversions for almost everything except what I’m craving.

Headaches, exhaustion, asleep by 9pm but awake again at 3am and unable to sleep.

I’m currently in the middle of a huge project for my business and really struggling to keep up with it all. Just trying to listen to my body, and not put on too much pressure. I actually find pregnancy a less anxious time, because I feel I have to slow down and not try to do everything, and also it’s something out of my control, and I usually sleep better as I suffer from stress induced insomnia a lot of the other time!

Got my booking appointment booked for week 9/10.

I’ve told a few close people, including my work colleagues, they’re the people I’m with everyday and makes practical sense for them to know, plus if we encounter any issues I may need their support at work.

Hope everyone is managing ok!

@StaryEyes1978 and @KirstyJayne82 congratulations! I’m similar older mummy, I’ll be 40 in Sept! I had my boy when I was 36, he’s just turned 3

Simone22 · 19/02/2022 14:10

@Poppybloom55 if I make it to 12 weeks that’s the time I’ll let my nearest and dearest know. Show them a nice wee scan pic I hope. Twice last year I only made it to 8 weeks is why I say “if” x

Newbeginnings90 · 19/02/2022 14:49

Hello all,

Hoping to join.

I'm 32 and had my BFP at the start of this week after experiencing odd cravings for fruit / pineapple and a missed period. I'm not entirely sure my due date, the predictor seems to think I'm 6 weeks. Is there a calculator that you'd all recommend?

We have a blended family already - i have a 5 year old boy, from a previous (awful) relationship, and my partner has a 9 year old girl. We had both discussed having another together but hadn't expected it to happen quite so soon! I've had a few days to let it sink in and I'm cautiously excited. OH has been a diamond - practical, calm and ready with all of the hugs and food/beverages.

I was a member of a group like this with my first and it was fantastic support.

daisiesandpeonies · 19/02/2022 15:18

I told my mother immediately, DH's parents the next day. I trust them not to tell. My best friend I told a couple of days after. As I'd tell them if I had a miscarriage, I'm quite happy for them to know. Last pregnancy I was working so I told my line manager straight away.

Curlywurly3 · 19/02/2022 15:51

Curlywurly3 · 19/02/2022 17:35

@Newbeginnings90 I’ve requested you so I can add you :)

beths89 · 19/02/2022 17:44

I went for my reassurance scan today….I thought I was around 7 weeks 2 days, but was measuring at 6 weeks 4 days. A little concerned, but my period cycles were varying in length which could explain it. We saw the heartbeat, and the sonographer was happy with what she could see.

Will share the pic….you can’t see much, but can see the yolk sac (not the head as we first thought 🙈), and the little fetus.

Due October 2022
