Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

I've just ordered a bunch of tests for Amazon delivery tonight as I feel stupidly nervous that this just isn't real. Have had very strong positives but due to a few chemicals I'm just feeling nervous with no symptoms. Not that a test will really tell me what's going on. I think I just like to see a line. I have an appointment next Thursday with gynae and will be 5+6 then so hoping they might do some bloods. Hate this very early stage / lack of feelings!

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 17/02/2022 17:21

@summerlovingvibes sorry you're feeling so anxious, I know the feeling and it really is awful. I wouldn't advise going down the testing route though, I've done three tests and the last two I got myself really worked up they wouldn't be 3+. Last time I was pregnant I sent myself crazy comparing lines, I found it just fed the anxiety. Im just trying to listen to my body. Of course if they make you feel better then that's different but there's a chance you might get stuck in a cycle of relief then anxiety building up again until you test again.
Could you book an early scan for reassurance, is that an option?

summerlovingvibes · 17/02/2022 17:40

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits yes I think I probably will get an early scan but would like to hold off until 8 weeks ish as I've also heard sad stories about early scans being too early / not showing heatbeat etc. So I think that would be even worse. I don't use the weeks tests so that's ok, again because I don't want to feel confused. I'll see how I go. I didn't feel like this with my DD at all but I feel like this second has been harder to conceive and I just almost can't believe I'm really pregnant.

I know in a week I'll be moaning because I feel so sick 😂

Hi All, I’ve been reading this thread but scared to join as I’m still in a bit of shock! I was due AF on Fri 04/02, which just so happened to be the day I was travelling to Jamaica for a much needed 2 week holiday! I was convinced that I couldn’t be pregnant as I have been trying for over a year and have had no sniff of a BFP. I even had slight spotting on Wed 02/02 so I was sure AF was coming. So I decided to drink it up and enjoy my holiday from the off! Oops!!
When AF didn’t show over the weekend I decided I’d better take a test just in case as I’m never late …and I got this on Tues 08/02!
Last period was 08/01 so I think I’m 5w6d…due approx. 15th Oct.

Due October 2022
JammieQueen · 17/02/2022 17:57

Congats to everyone else BTW😊

HRHXO · 17/02/2022 18:05

@JammieQueen wow that line! Congratulations! We are also estimated due date twins I'm also estimated around 15th Oct! 🥰

JammieQueen · 17/02/2022 18:17

@HRHXO Thanks so much! I panicked when I saw that 1 line was so faint but then I googled and realised that it was a good thing for the test line to be so much stronger than the control line. Glad to have a due date buddy😀
Although I’m extremely nervous as it’s still early days and I’m still in Jamaica. Looking forward to getting home so I can contact the doctor. It all feels like a bit of dream at the moment. Very surreal! Plus I’m 41 about to turn 42 in April so very aware that it might not be straightforward.

Yeah I agree, that happened to me. I'm booked in for 8 weeks and safe to say I'm bricking it ! Let's try and stay postive ❤️

@HRHXO just to respond re:early booking in - yep, I had mine yesterday at 6+5! I actually almost apologised for it being so early and she was like, don't be silly, we like to see (well speak - I go for in person blood pressure, Bmi etc tomorrow) as soon as we can. It was all smooth and helpful although I kind of wasn't prepared for talking about my difficult mental health history - and it threw me a bit, but mainly because I am so well now, but I've been very poorly in the past - but it almost felt like talking about someone else, so it was nice to reflect that this is not my reality anymore. Just a heads up they will ask about MH history if anyone finds that difficult to talk about! Obviously really important and I did share that I am worried about problems with PPD etc, but she reassured me that as they know my history, they can keep an extra close eye and be sure to keep asking me at appointments etc. Good luck with yours!

summerlovingvibes · 17/02/2022 19:02

@JammieQueen congrats! And have a wonderful rest of your holiday in Jamaica .... holidays won't be the same again in the future 😂!

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits I got the tests and couldn't resist and it's really helped me to relax because it was a beautifully instant and strong line, better than any line I've ever had. So I feel happy and settled again now :) x

JammieQueen · 17/02/2022 19:13

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits
@summerlovingvibes
Thank you both so much. Hope that you are both keeping well, apologies I haven’t quite managed to catch up on the whole thread just yet so not sure what stage everyone is at.
Definitely planning to enjoy my last days in Jamaica, leaving tomorrow, but I’m also anxious to get home and get back to reality. As right now none of this seems real!

JammieQueen · 17/02/2022 19:16

Ps I will try and bag some sunshine and bring it back with me. I’ve heard that I’m coming to stormy weather!

JammieQueen · 17/02/2022 19:17

summerlovingvibes · 17/02/2022 19:34

@JammieQueen yup it's pretty miserable here!

We have a holiday booked for mid June and i cannot wait!

ploopypleepy · 17/02/2022 21:07

Hey guys lovely to see you're all doing so well!!! Sorry if I sound daft but who do I ring to make a booking appointment? I can't remember Blush

Dorset555 · 17/02/2022 21:25

@curbsideprophet thank you that's really good advise :-)
And congrats on your IVF! Hope you're feeling OK x

summerlovingvibes · 17/02/2022 21:54

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits I feel like I might have jinxed things .... first waves of nausea this evening and feeling like something is setting in... now I'm wishing I'd appreciated no symptoms a little more 😂

Leibee87 · 17/02/2022 23:24

My sickness needs to come back!!! Had my reassurance scan. They've measured me at 6 weeks ±4 so bit behind where I thought but all good and saw the heart beat.

That's really exciting that you got to see the heart beat!
Jfb23 · 18/02/2022 06:41

@ploopypleepy i think everywhere's different so you might need to ring your Dr to ask. In my area, we self refer using an online form so you could have a quick Google see if something pops up.

Riviera90 · 18/02/2022 07:37

Hi, has anyone else had really severe period like cramps? I’ve had two nights of it and it’s so scary! No bleeding and I did have an early reassurance scan 2 days ago and everything looked fine. I’ve also been feeling a bit faint when I stand up! Not sure what it could be 😖 x

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 18/02/2022 08:05

Careful what you wish for 😆 hope you're feeling okay ! I get the odd passing wave of nausea but nothing too bad! I'm so lightheaded this morning though, I feel pissed !!

Leibee87 · 18/02/2022 08:06

Feeling faint when you stand will be to do with your blood pressure dropping. Try pumping your heels when you stand.

I have been quiet crampy on and off throughout. I think it's where the uterus is stretching. So horrible though and worrying but from my googling if the pain isn't severe and not accompanied with bleeding then it's normal.

HRHXO · 18/02/2022 08:15

@Riviera90 I've been having cramping pretty much from when I got my bfp. Abdomen, hips and lower back. It's not severe but it's irritating and slightly worrying. I also feel dizzy when I first stand up. I think it's all normal but I still don't like it lol
