Hi all,

I've just had my BFP and am due early October 2022, for my first baby I joined a group on here for people all due the same month so thought I'd start one this time round - early days I know but nice to speak to people in the same boat! 🙂

I'm 31 and have a DD who is 16 months.

Is anyone else due in October? How are you feeling?

Hey girls, I've just tested positive today! Unplanned but much wanted after a molar pregnancy in 2020. I'm getting married in august too so if all goes well I'll not be 7 months pregnant walking down the aisle 😂😂 how is everyone feeling ? What symptoms do you have ?

Diamondbabe · 16/02/2022 17:23

I plan on telling my sister early so she would be have to have my little boy. I thought it would be quite sweet to be able to say he was at the scan and saw his brother or sister but we will have a few private scans so can always take him to those. Glad everyone's feeling ok!

maybein2022 · 16/02/2022 19:02

Hi all,

How’s everyone doing? I have had the most horrendous heartburn and nausea the past couple of days, to the point it was waking me up in the night feeling like I was going to be sick! I didn’t have this with my first two. Luckily seems a little better today.

We are away this week and I’ve not been as careful with my diet, still trying to be sensible as really cannot afford to put on any weight yet, so looking forward to being back home and getting back to it, I think it also helps with the heartburn and nausea to eat well.

My boobs are also so, so sore. Again, very different to last time!

I am counting down to my scan in a couple of weeks. Trying to relax and enjoy being pregnant, but it is hard. How is everyone else with a bit of anxiety doing?

Congratulations on all the new BFPs and so sorry again for those who haven’t had good news. Flowers

@margo34 oh I know such a minefield!!! It's so hard not telling people isn't it!
@VIE8126 I have a 1yo so I think they will be 18 months apart - so not quite 14 but I think we are in a similar boat! The logistics are really overwhelming but I keep thinking lots of other people manage and it's going to be great in a couple of years when they can play together??? Or maybe that's wishful thinking 🤣

Vie8126 · 16/02/2022 20:19

@123walrus I'm with you won't be taking DP to appointments other than scans it's all a bit boring and they are over so quick it's pointless him coming. My ds will likely be at the childminder when I have scans or I can ask my mum to watch him to allow dp to come.

@Dorset555 it's really overwhelming isn't it! We had a brief look at double pushchairs to see what we were getting into and they were all hideous and heavy before I even get to look at if they'll even fit in the boot of the car! We're hoping playmates too as my first 3 are so much older than the little one. I did think maybe a sling for the baby? Who knows! How many weeks are you?

Dorset555 · 16/02/2022 21:01

@vie8126 im not entirely sure as my periods were still all over the place after baby no1...but I think I'm about 5.5 weeks...how about you? I'm a massive fan of our ergo baby baby carrier so hopefully will use that loads. Also I mentioned earlier on here that you can get buggy boards that attach to the pram that hopefully my 1yo will love in a few months time!

Curlywurly3 · 16/02/2022 23:06

Someone has asked for the FB link so I wanted to share it again 😊fb.me/g/2OXdCDV5p/7lWgMohs

Vie8126 · 17/02/2022 07:24

@Dorset555 I've never ever used a sling so going to check out the carrier you've said it would be perfect to use with ds I would think on dog walks. We did see that a lot of the baby/toddler systems came with the boards too think it will be something ds uses as he gets bigger. Dp even said oh we don't need a double ds will be 1 was like erm yes dp we will Grin

I'm also not sure of my period but know from my WhatsApp history I text dp for tampons so I'm going by a couple of days before that day which is a guess. I don't even know really how long my cycles have been as literally wasn't keeping note. So I think I'm 6 weeks today.

CurbsideProphet · 17/02/2022 07:25

@Dorset555 I'm recently pregnant through IVF (currently terrified) after 2 miscarriages. I would tell your friends by text / WhatsApp. Please don't tell them face to face as a big announcement. I would also advise against sending scan photos or telling them how tired etc you are. They will be happy for you, but very sad for themselves that they aren't pregnant too.

Lap91 · 17/02/2022 11:11

How is everyone feeling? I'm 7+3 today and the nausea has been real this week.. I thought it had reduced a bit today (a brief feeling of relief followed by panic that something was wrong!) But it seems to hit me with a vengeance about 10am until mid afternoon 🙈 . Just keep telling myself that hopefully this and the almost constant sore boobs are signs that all is well!

Yellowdott · 17/02/2022 11:25

I'm 6+3 today and the nausea seems to be getting worse each day, but manageable for now. I'm a bit scared as it was so bad in my last pregnancy I remember thinking I'd never ever do it again.

Still a loooong time before ~14 weeks when it gets much, much better.

I'm extremely exhausted too right now and struggling to get through the work day. Honestly don't know how I'll make it till 17:00 😩

Poppybloom55 · 17/02/2022 11:31

Hi everyone! I got my BFP on the 12th February and believe myself to be 5 weeks as of yesterday, due 19th October.
This is my first pregnancy and I’ve got an early reassurance scan booked for 8 weeks, the wait is already killing me.
Is anyone else not experiencing symptoms? I took a test because of my missed period but I didn’t feel pregnant at all!
The last 2 ish days my boobs have felt larger and heavier, and I’m out of breathe just from getting up off the sofa! But to be honest these wouldn’t leap out to me as clear symptoms. I was expecting really sore boobs and nausea by now. I know I should probably see myself as lucky but it makes me worry daily if everything is ok! Xx

Leibee87 · 17/02/2022 11:31

@Lap91 I'm 7+0 today but got a reassurance scan later on. My sickness was bad Tuesday just felt nauseous all day then was sick and then it just kind of went back to gagging on and off 😣 so worried but keep thinking symptoms fluctuate. I found eating early and going back to sleep helps (at least ensures some food gets digested)

I'm just feeling really anxious these last 24hrs. Ended up doing my last cb digital last night, still said pregnant and 3+ so that's a positive (although I realise you can still have a positive test when things aren't right) I just have such a horrible feeling about this scan. I have no history of mc or anything and this is my first time pregnant so I have no reason really to be super worried, plus its out of my control whatever is going on. So really trying not to panic about it. I am hoping it's just my f**ked up brain preparing me for the worst so I can be nicely surprised all is Ok. Just don't "feel pregnant" anymore..like mentally? Really hard to explain.

Yellowdott · 17/02/2022 12:33

Hi ladies - just thought I'd share that Matalan has some reduced maternity clothes at the moment. I know it's early but maternity clothes are usually so expensive!

I got some maternity dungarees for £12 😊

Edmarie · 17/02/2022 12:45

@Leibee87 I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant - I've had some physical symptoms (on and off), but for the last week or so I haven't mentally really felt anything. I've spoken to my best friend who has a 2 year old, and she said she went through that.
I think it's totally normal, and will change throughout the pregnancy.
I feel quite numb about it most of the time, even though I really wanted to get pregnant - I thought I'd be super excited!
Try not to overthink it (easier said than done), just take it one day at a time :)

@Yellowdott thanks for the tip!! I'm already busting out my jeans

BecLJ · 17/02/2022 12:46

Congrats @ploopypleepy!

@HermioneGr and @Margo34 my husband also missed most of the appointments for our 2020 baby so is also determined to come to as many as possible! But as you say, bit more challenging when you have a toddler!

I got my 10 week booking in date (while I'm on holiday oops, so hoping I can change that) and first scan date (25 March) exactly two years after my 12 week scan with my daughter!

I'm 7+2 today and the nausea has eased a bit. But the exhaustion is unreal! Feel quite guilty as I can't play with my toddler as much as I would usually, I'm mostly sat on the floor while she brings me books and toys to read to her / play with her. I know it will get better in the second trimester but how do people cope when they have a big bump?? I was huge last time and napped A LOT.

Leibee87 · 17/02/2022 12:59

@Yellowdott thanks for the heads up.

@Edmarie thank you. I was super excited too but then just started worrying a lot. Not just about whether baby is OK but about the future as well. I think when I'm bigger and feel movements etc it will feel more real. My work did a risk assessment for me yesterday (stupidly Early I know, shouldn't have told them really) and I don't think that's really helped my mindset. Only a few more hours to go till scan.

jadew88 · 17/02/2022 13:09

5 weeks today and I think I've just had my first wave of nausea 🤢 had a daytime bath (because why not when you're working from home) and my husband had been cooking something under the grill, and when I came out of the bathroom the grill smell hit me and now I just feel a bit queasy 😬

xxfxx · 17/02/2022 13:13

@Poppybloom55 I’m 6+1 and other than feeling tired at night and having sore boobs I have no symptoms either! I think it’s normal , although with my DD I had sickness at this point!

Poppybloom55 · 17/02/2022 13:22

@xxfxx good to know I am not the only one 🙂 are you planning to have an early reassurance scan?

xxfxx · 17/02/2022 13:26

Yes I’ve got one booked for 2nd March I’ll be 8 weeks, are you going to book one?

Poppybloom55 · 17/02/2022 13:51

@xxfxx I have one for the week after you which is when I think I’ll be 8 weeks. But I’m so nervous about it because I keep doubting my dates. We weren’t planning the pregnancy and some months my cycle is short and others it’s super long so I’ve had to take a bit of a guess at my LMP. They said they can do the scan from 7 weeks but I went with 8 in case I did have it wrong so I’m hoping I’ll definitely be at least 7. I’ll be gutted if I go and they said it’s less and I have to come again. There’s no way I can wait till 12 weeks! 🙂

Lap91 · 17/02/2022 14:56

@Leibee87 ah good luck for the scan! We actually had one booked for tomorrow but decided to postpone until the 28th which will be 9 weeks. I had a tiny bit of bleeding last week so was concerned about irritating my cervix with an internal scan. I've felt quite well today which is alien after a week of feeling so tired and sick!

HRHXO · 17/02/2022 15:35

Just had a call from the midwife unit, my booking in appointment has been set for 3rd March when I'll be 7+6 which seems quite early but I'm not mad about it!

Has anyone else got theirs this early?

Curlywurly3 · 17/02/2022 15:52

@HRHXO mine was 8 weeks with my daughter, it’s 10 weeks this time x
